Jeez it's the worst prolonged pain of my life! Plus I've had about 90mins sleep in the last 24hrs :(

Hrmn ... op was on the 6th, that's what, 4 weeks and 4 days or something.

I'm guessing you have a review at 6 weeks? ...

Have you called them to tell them about the pain increase, or even that it's been static with no improvement?

You're at a great hospital. You could call them and ask them to bring the appointment forward because you're concerned or whatever. Getting there might be a problem tho given your restricted movement and the pain factor. Hospital transport can usually be found their end tho.

In the meantime, come on here and take all the pain out on us .. we can take it ... use/abuse us!

Eh, pain via the arse and genitals is almost impossible to block out ... too much of a sensitive area and it affects EVERY resting position, no matter which way you try to sit/lay/stand. Even a catheter on its own is a big pain in the arse ('scuse the pun)

mental <3 <3 <3 being channeled your way.

Give em a ring at least tho (if your haven't already). It'll give you something to focus on and these situations are helped a little by mentally being focused on the next stage to get yourself through this one

Too much pain. Can't deal with it. I've had enough.

:( I'm sorry, I'm not really sure what to say...have you spoken to your doctors? Aren't there any options to help? <3

I'm really pissed off, I just learned that tetrazepam has been banned. Was literally the only thing that helped my neck. Great to see healthcare is going down the drain here as well. Ffs.

"Norcos" , "rx"... are you in North America? This is the Europe and Africa regional forum so you might be better off asking in a different subforum.

I've only ever had the magical "absorbable" sutures, they don't get removed. I had them on my urethra, and my foot, no pain whatsoever! Presumably your wound is more serious :(

its not bad getting them off. once I had to get stitches in my lip after fighting when I was pissed, went drinking again after I got them in and it turned out they were dis solvable so had to go back in the hospital again about an after getting them in, stupid me went back the pub again after that, they dissolved and I just left it the way it was, what does all this say about me (Im a stupid ass mother fucker when drunk)

^ Fell in the shower, Brimzini? You okay? Probably not cos it fukkin hurts when you do that :!

Hope you have some decent painkillers to hand ;)<3

Feel a complete fraud when there are people here in seriously unimaginably extreme and proper pain (much <3 to those) but is all relative and so am gonna whine anyway...

Have been in frikkin agony since doc started pissing about with me script a few weeks back. Has made things so much worse. Used to be able to restrict my cripple shuffle to strictly behind closed doors other than a few occasions when I had a massive flare up but not anymore. Am shuffling, hobbling, limping and stooped pretty much all the time now. Actually look like Quasimodo half the time. Plus my torso has gotten so twisted it actually points in a different direction to my legs. Fukkin ridiculous state of affairs and purely down to the fact I no longer get any sustained pain relief whatsoever. Used to get 1-2 weeks of adequate analgesia which was pretty shite but did at least mean I had enough "normal" life to balance stuff out to stop it all spiralling like it has done now. Am not happy about it at all. Is a friggin backache. There's just no way in the world it should be allowed - nay encouraged - to get as out of hand as it is at the moment. Really is affecting me a lot now. Used to take me ten minutes to walk to t'other end of town. Now takes a full half hour :\

Has gotten bad enough that I'm having to switch treatment to my DSP. Which means I'm gonna have to deliberately addict myself to opies and benzos again just to be treated for relatively minor - and entirely manageable - medical issues which could so easily be treated without the need to become dependent. Got an appointment next week to have my benzos (partially prescribed for muscle relaxant properties) switched to DSP doc and to be assessed for bupe again (other option being offered is methadone which I definitely ain't gonna let happen :|). Pissed off that I'm gonna have to be treated as a straight-up addict again purely cos my GP and the pain clinic can't/won't see past my history. Despite the fact it's been nearly a fukkin decade since I successfully completed my "final" detox/rehab. Guess it wasn't so final after all :\

Has anyone ever had surgery stitches taken out? Any idea how much it'll hurt, if at all?

Had stitches removed from just above my eye and was kinda nervy about it (not half as nervy as I was at having stitches put in just over my eye though - talk about front row seat 8o) but literally did not feel a thing.
