Hello again pain-dwellers <3

I've decided to try see my (or a) GP about my knee(s) tomorrow or ASAP.
And I think it's likely that I'll be sent of for a scan, which is good, as then I'll know what's causing it!

Woke up again in the middle of the night with it ceased, and today instead of my 15 Codeine tabs a day to help with pain, I've had to take 29 throughout the day... Which is a lot... :\
But the pain has subsided quite a bit - I was lying down and just felt the warm hand of relief on my knee.
Crushed up 270mg so it would start relieving my pain as soon as possible. I can see myself crushing another 6 tabs later :|

Ah well.. It's high time I got this sorted out! 8(

uugh sometimes I really wish I was living in the states, I'd at least get some Vicodin and Soma maybe. Went to the doctors yesterday cos I am in the middle of a flair up or whatever its called, thought it might be a good idea to see my doc when its bad and so on. Obviously the doctors was full to the brim and the next available date to see her is on the 17th. Meaning hopefully I'd be back to a more normal amount of pain, which isn't much good for me. So I unfortunately got put with a doctor that doesn't know me or my history. Proceeded to spell out the absolute obvious to me, tell me off for being prescribed temazepam and acted like the 30/500 solpadol he was giving me had the effectiveness of fentanyl. That naproxen and paracetamol combined would be a great help to me , ignoring the fact that I specifically told doctors that naproxen does an absolute number on my stomach. I'd have thought that the fact that I self medicated with much stronger opiates/benzos for a number of years would be on my records, so would know that codeine and tramadol would do nothing - especially at the doses they have given me. Its not that I am expecting them to script me morphine or anything, just maybe an actual dose of codiene or DHC relative to my tolerance.

Had phone appointment with GP, she offered me DHC or Morphine. I misheard and thought she said am I still taking the Morphine she prescribed, and I said no! I'm such an idiot, but phone down and realised. She put up my dose of Pregabalin, it is helping bit more, but I will wait a couple of weeks till she next calls me and asked for the Morphine.

She is an ace GP, understanding and none judgementel.

I'm very excited that one my operations is happening in two weeks! Hopefully less pain after the recovery.

HIFU - High Intensity Focused Ultrasound

Basically they're gonna burn a core of my prostate cancer off. Sexy huh? And you?

Wow. All the best.

I'm just having surgery on my feet to sort out my joint problems. Lots of boneccutting and pins etc

Could get it encased in acrylic and wear it as jewellery :D

Joking aside, it gets burned off, blasted away. It represents something no bigger than 1/54th of my (22mm) prostate. I know this because I had a 54 needle biopsy. Ouchy ouchy earlier in this thread. The point of the HIFU is that it only takes away 1/54th - 1/20th (ish) of my prostate as opposed to the prostatectomy they tried to force on me which takes away 100% of it (plus dignity and quality of life).

Stand up for your rights innit. Well, there was sex involved/at stake.

Ditto, SHM - I know you'll be fine, but I just hope it doesn't cause you a fuck load of pain or anything.
Much love to you man <3

Got my surgery date through for my j-pouch formation operation. It's in mid July, 2 days after my 30th birthday! They'll take the end of my small intestine (currently poking out through my abdominal wall as a stoma) and form an internal pouch by folding it into a j (or s or w, depending on what fits) shape, cutting it down the middle and sewing it all together. Then they'll cut a hole in the end and sew it to my butt hole, after they remove the remaining 30cm of my rectum that didn't get removed last October when they removed my colon. Finally they'll make a new hole further up my small intestine to form a new stoma, it'll be 3 to 6 months before it heals enough for me to have the final operation to plumb it all in, so I'll still be pooping into a bag until then. Not sure if this belongs in the pain thread but I suspect it does! I'll let you know whether I'm right when I've had the surgery!

<3 to everyone else who are either in, or anticipating pain right now.
