What do people prefer? Freebase or HCL?

I can get both of them for the same price (£60 per g) and I've only tried the HCL, how does the freebase compare?

From my experience it's not like mushrooms as far as the giggles are concerned.

I don't remember where I heard this, but read somewhere that when it was used as an anti-depressant it had a list of possible side-effects (as medication does) with one of those being 'may cause inappropriate smiling'. ;)

It will make you smile until your cheeks hurt, but not laugh until your sides do :)
 
Yeah, I find it like MDMA in that respect. It doesn't make me laugh, just grin like a knob.
 
I think its almost impossible to laugh on a proper mdma trip. Inappropriate smiling was the main reason they stopped treating depressed soviet soldiers with amt apparently.

Can we post pics (of the drug) in here, or does that border on the realms of saucery?

The freebase will give you more bang for your buck (ignoring issues of synthesis). Freebase doesn't store at all well, so I'd want to know the supplier had stored it properly. Then when I got it I'd probably turn it into a salt and follow obvious storage instructions.

To answer your question, I don't think there's any qualitative differences between freebase or hcl, although freebase is a little stronger.

I don't remember it being such a dark grey and as powdery last time (but if you haven't read already, my memory's not too great atm).

It's always "sticky" though isn't it? I think you'll know what I mean.:)

Unless I'm mistaken they're exactly the same drug except hcl got a bit of salt along for the ride.

I'm prepared to be shot down on this, but:

- I guess freebase just sounds better, unadulterated, stronger.
- Are people somehow comparing this to freebase cocaine and cocaine hcl?
- aMT hcl smokes just fine so I hear.
- Are people promoting freebase cos they know it probably wont be stored properly, hence bringing back custom.


The first thing i'll be doing when I get a freebase order is converting it to acid, unless there's some compelling reason not to.

It came off a bit darker in the pictures, but yes is is pretty dark.

When did you come in possession of yours?

<edit> and can anything slightly scientific be ascertained from the colour?
 
You can't really get any useful information about the lightness of the material from pics. The camera, it's settings and the lighting all have too great an effect. Just look how much darker the 1st picture looks compared to the 2nd, which is exactly the same pile of powder!

Freebase has 20% more molecules per weight..

So 100mg of freebase will = 120mg Hcl.

^think its the other way round... 100mg aMT freebase has same number of aMT molecules as approx 120mg of aMT.hcl
 
So nothing worth worrying about really? As long as your scales are accurate and you know what your weighing?
 
When AMT Freebase is exposed to moisture in particular, it will start to degrade rapidly, and can even turn a dark brown colour when this happens. (This is why few scientists would store it in a solution as it will last a couple of days at best).
