And I didn't mean to attack what you said - fair point. I think what he was trying to say was that SR made it all so easy so he just got into it and he also says he wanted to get caught because it was all getting too much and he didn't know how to get out. So I think anyone watching can come to the conclusion that the website itself had little to do with the eventual arrest/charge of westy. Correct me if I'm wrong, westy!

I'm with you re loathing of TT and ACA. I had very low expectations of last night's story because of that... but in the end, at least it was relatively accurate and not as sensationalist as others I've seen.
 
Yeah that's true. It was the best behaved story I have seen, and don't worry you weren't attacking anything I was saying. I just had to put that out there because its so easy to misinterpret what someone writes rather than says.

As for Westy, I'd hate to be your supplier you basically rolled "silk road" aka your dealer to avoid a prison sentence. Very very cowardly and IMO quite stupid having your face shown on a national program "outting" SR.

In his case definitely. Online or not, Westy has just re-ignited the whole SR frenzy. If I knew him as a person I'd be staying very far away.

Since when do laggers get notoriety in this world? I was always taught very different when it came to police informants etc... Ohhhh well. The times are a changin for the worse :(

Indeed... 20 to be exact.

If we grow or sell or import it's our choice and the majority will be prepared to face police, courts, and foot the 30k or so bill for a half decent soli and barrister.

It's these new age "crims" (used very loosely) that concern me.

SR is fantastic for those who use it responsibly and safely.
 
I too find it hard to see anything but self serving motives behind the decision to do an interview like that, and to publicise it here almost proudly. Tronica - awesome work as usual.

Posts that cross the line into abuse have and will be edited though.

Looks like westy got his 15 minutes of fame, he's also becoming famous on SR with a thread dedicated to the interview.

I think it was a silly move by him and Im not sure about his motives or if he was paid any money but by looking at the responses on here and SR, I dont think it was the smartest of moves. By using his real identity he will be branded as a drug dealer and snitch for a long time to come, this will almost certainly effect his working life, his friendships and his family, I just hope it doesnt effect his safety.

If you read this, westy, can you please take the time to explain your reasoning behind doing the interview?

Something very interesting happened in the world of deep web drug dealing, a competitor to SR called Atlantis that has been around since March this year, is planning a big social media advertising campaign for their "brand", the campaign was started with a youtube advert (already removed by Youtube, funny enough) that can be seen here:

Mister, I agree. If Mr. West wants to try and clear up the mess he has caused, I'm sure we would all love to hear it. Honestly, if I were him, I'd be defending myself as I'm sure there are a LOT of people who would like to meet him for a coffee and cake.

Boy oh boy, gone are the days where this world of ours was so obscure, you would only see the occasional bust on the news. Now we have kids importing pounds of heads from Los Angeles and thinking they are immune to the law... Yet when the boys in blue come knocking they end up being a 10 slap job. 1 slap to start them talking, 9 to shut them the f**k up.

I got a mate of mine that got $3000 from today/tonight for doin an interview on them teasin a great white for fuck sake.. you're nothin but a selfish dog mate
 
^ Couldn't agree more. I think TT throw out about 5k an interview approx from reliable sources. Prob more coin than he has ever seen.

Other than being an idiot and bringing unwanted attention to himself and SR, I dont think westy actually got anyone in trouble other than himself.

Talk of having him bashed isnt showing us to be the intelligent, forward thinking individuals that we want the world to see as.
