A couple of things about that article that spring to mind, first is they (the people busted) seem to be people ordering from OS again (not 100% sure on that tho), as it involved the AFP, and second they state it was from 'earlier this year' and we are towards the end of the year now and that seems to indicate probably alot of others have successfully used the site and not been detected, or they just haven't mentioned more recent busts possibly.

In no way do I wont to encourage people to order from SR, but if people do it seems much wiser and safer to order from 'so called' trusted Aus sellers, but even then it's never going to be fool proof, things could always go bad, and that can happen when buying 'illegal' drugs in any shape or form from any source.

The moral of my rant, don't drink coffee and laugh :)

Just thought I'd throw it out there, with how many drugs me and my friends have bought in person, if I had been buying them off Silk Road, surely by now I would've been busted. That isn't too say that it may not be relatively safe, but I find it unlikely to be safer then finding a good dealer.
 
not if u bought them locally, where there has been 0 busts afaik. who knows tho, its all speculation hey :)
 
It would seem logical hey. So I wouldn't doubt that at all. And there possibly has been domestic busts via SR, i'm not really sure, there's been alot more street busts tho, but i bet there's millions more street style deals done per yr (or maybe 100's of thousands, whatever), so the odds as in the favour of scoring off friends or even randoms at a rave for that matter. It's all a risk we take when we obtain out DOC (if it's illegal).

Yeah a shit load. Locally I cant see how they can screen much at all without some kinda prior intel.

EDIT - unless you are scoring some really smelly shit, then some dude or chick at a mail centre or a postie might just flog ur parcel or envelope lol.

I believe checks on domestic mail were done every now and then in the past let alone now that Silkroad is in the media.

I don't know how they would go about it but I wouldn't think it would be checking every mail item sent on a particular day... I'm sure it may be over a few weeks focusing on certain areas.

I'm guessing most mail items go through a main hub in each capital city? if so I'd imagine that's where they'd hit.

That is correct. The last international one was only a month or so ago due to the silk road. It is only a matter of time before we get an Aussie one as it is well overdue. The last one I remember was about 4 years ago.
 
That's the problem with complacency, because it has worked in the past, people expect it to be the same forever. It's just not the case. I'm paranoid by nature so don't listen to me.
 
I know of a situation where 80 pills were detected via a dog going through the mail from Sydney to Perth. This occurred 6 years ago. Not sure how but it did.
 
There was an apparent "leak" about how the local enforcement is planning to crack down no silkraod.
Posted on the forums, I can't get on TOR any more but it may interest many.

Could be fake, but it seems very legible.

Hello all,
I come from a family of LEO's, Not just uniformed officers, but upper echelon personnel in multiple agencies both state and federal. I can't be more specific than that unfortunately. Recently, I gained access to an internal confidential report distributed to several Australia LE agencies and a few international anti-narcotic bodies regarding possible methods of combating illegal activities involving BC. Of course SR was a main feature of said report.

I was told not to share any of the information, however I feel this report should be made available to the SR community because it contained methods through which LEO intend to begin to infiltrate and if possible start serious interdiction of the quote 'blatant and continually growing narcotic trade SR supports'. Now I can't post the report openly for everyone, because It could lead to serious consequences for myself and members of my family, I will however share the relevant points made and share an altered version of the report with a few members of the community whom I have already discussed this with and who have agreed to help get the information out there, because I know this one post won't be enough.

So here are the nuts and bolts of the report, spread the information as far and wide as possible friends:

1.PGP is terrifying them, every new user who learns it and helps others learn, closes a possible loophole they where planning to exploit.
2. User ignorance of the technology being used (Tor, PGP etc) is the their single best hope for any kind of serious action against the SR community.
3. Narcotic trade historically involves exploitation and violence. Users working together as a community for a greater good and towards the same goals has made all previous interdiction training basically obsolete. In other words, every user who helps newcomers learn how to be safe and secure especially through the use of PGP for all transactions and communication is a nail in LEO's coffin.
4. A total lack of violence and exploitation is very much working in our favor. So in other words, the idea of a community working together to protect the new and vulnerable has been identified as a huge obstacle for any kind of serious attempt to stop SR.
5. Their morale regarding fighting SR and BC is very low at the moment, mainly because very few LEO have the capacity to comprehend how the whole system works, but unfortunately, recent media coverage demands some kind of action, so they are going to have to show the public they are doing SOMETHING to combat SR, they just aren't sure what yet.

So there you have it my friends, Think of it like we are involved in an Insurrection and they are trying to pacify our homeland. History dictates that a determined and unified local populace will always defeat an invading enemy, regardless of strength through slowly sapping that enemies very will to continue the fight. We have the upper hand, there are just a few things we need to do to win the war and if you have read this post, you will see what those things are.

Go forth and educate yourself and anyone who needs it. Lean PGP, use it, teach others, encourage the spirit of community and helping others and victory shall be ours.

I tend to take things like this posted on SR with a grain of salt as SR attracts all types who people who are strangers that can say whatever they want, LE could also post propaganda and disinformation.

Ive also noticed a frew people from BL and other forums using the same user name on SR, you can tell its them by the way they type and act. I think that is an incredibly stupid thing to do as it narrows the anonymity SR affords them.
 
Apparently SR was on ABC news this morning - I don't have the link but does anyone else? And I've been asked to talk to 3AW this afternoon about it. I don't think there is anything new to report, just some more people discovering it and shocking themselves.
