The Drugs and Music Mega Thread

IDM (Intelligent Dance Music)
Autechre
Aphex Twin
Venetian Snares
Mum
Black Dog
Orbital
Future Sound of London

Progressive
Porcupine Tree
Camel

Djam Karet
Ozric Tentacles

Metal
Dream Theater
Zero Hour
Alogia
Blind Guardian

Underlined ones are at the top of my favorites.

IDM is great for opiates, all of the glitches and shit make the experience even better. Progressive Rock and Metal are just relaxing...Yum.

I'd make a larger list, but I don't feel like it.

As far as opiates my favorite to listen to is Boards Of Canada.

Acid and Sigur Ros go very nicely together.

I-Doser

Yo have any of you guys checked out this "I-Doser" stuff???

Its like...well its hard to explain, but its kinda like different noises and shit that you listen to threw your headphones and are supposed to make u feel different ways, like they have different tracks for different drugs and once you get done listening to the entire track you are 'supposed' to feel like you would on the drug.... For example they have tracks for: Marijuana, Heroin/opiates, Crystal Meth, and cocaine.. Those are just the ones that I have that I downloaded off limewire. They got tons more like LSD, peyote, mushrooms, xanax, and literally thousands more.. anyways i have had them for awhile now and I think its pretty much nonsense but they are really weird to listen to, so i dunno just kinda weird...

Some guy on the I-doser website said this about the Heroin "dose":

"Some years ago, I was an heroin addict. I never believed that this thing would work, but it actually does. It does'nt make you as fucked up as heroin, but it sure as hell calms you down when you need it and gives you a great pleasure. I Ordered a lot of doses and looking forward to try them all!"

Here's the website: http://www.i-doser.com/

Psychs (Mescaline) & mixing records

Hello everyone, i have a question for all the psychedelic djs out there. Does anyone have any experience with mixing records while on mescaline? I've done it ( i should say tried) on lsd before, and I was utterly unable to operate my turntables or mix at all. For me mescaline is much more clear headed and easy going, so i figured it would work out well and mixing would be do-able and fun.

Have any of you ever tried this?

ive mixed on many different drugs, and id say it had different effects on my mixing... its certainly prettier looking at the knobs and mixer lights and stuff while intoxicated thats a definite. but preformance wise i prefer to mix on DXM

edit ps: never taken mescaline before :P might be offtopic

IMO the best music for opiates is something simple, something you can "melt" into

Stuff like:

M. Ward
Flying Lotus
Lemon Jelly
Telepopmusik
Her Space Holiday (although he can get pretty depressing)
Kode9
Groove Armada (songs like Suntoucher and what not)
Zero 7
Massive Attack

etc.

What is your favorite music to trip on?

I prefer some nice trance or down-tempo ambient music, such as ferry corsten or some tycho. Classical music is also very euphoric and mind-opening.

Usually what ever music I like sober. I couldn't imagine myself enjoying classical music. If I ever trip so often that I get the chance to listen to classical music maybe Ill try it.

Pink floyd ppl :D Led Zeppelin Classical.. my fav is ludwig 5th symphony Heavy Metal too :D

Love the dead, phish, and the disco biscuits as far as jam band music is concerned

also love sphongle and other posford projects

alot of random psytrance is good, and dubstep i like(sometimes)

some hip hop, aesop rock, slug, and a little bit of mainstream rap (i actually even like *some* of what lil wayne has done(drought3 is hot)

old guitar rock, floyd n zeplin, beatles are great along with alot of the hippy movements music

shows i go to most often are biscuits concerts, ive seen phish a few times, will certainly see them more(didnt get into jam bands until abbout a year into hiatus)

i can not wait to go see furthur, i think radio city will be my first shows of theirs

marley isnt my favorite but he is quite awsome

i think psychadelics are the best drugs for aiding in creative music, and i like dub style stuff that nug has helped inspire
