The Drugs and Music Mega Thread

Ok don't hate me for asking, I can't help myself. Have you seen the movie ReindeerSpotting (it's on Netflix, I think that's what it's called)- but I'd be really interested to know what you thought of that movie, since you're from Finland.

GHB'd and boozed out. My usual late night listening artists are Burial, Four tet and the lot. So [peaceful.,
 
For me it has to be ,,Binaural Beats,, well most of them, I don't listen to them all the time, but these beats really set the perfect acid mood for me. :)

It's pretty much about when he was you get and how everybody use to drink so much they could fill a swimming pool and how he would eventually grow up to imitate his families behavior etc. I saw the interview. It makes sense when he explains it

What's your favorite music when trippin'?

Hey guys just wondering what you guys like listening to while your high or tripping. Or even what's your favorite movies?:D
 
Aphex Twin, particularly the albums Selected Ambient Works 85-93, Selected Ambient Works vol. 2, and I Care Because You Do.
Also, Flying Lotus' Los Angeles, Can's Tago Mago, and pretty much anything from Pink Floyd that they made between Meddle and Animals, including those two. The Wall is too dark and disturbing for psychedelics.

As far as movies go, I don't really like watching movies or TV when I trip, but on the comedown I typically watch some type of TV comedy, like South Park, Robot Chicken, or something like that. The only time I ever enjoyed a whole movie on psychedelics was when I dropped a tab of acid and a xanax bar simultaneously and watched the original Total Recall with Shwarznegger. I watched the movie right after dropping, and at the end of the movie I was beginning to feel effects, and during the peak, I was in an intense k-hole-like dissociation where I was basically in the movie. Finally becoming lucid enough to perceive reality was weird as fuck.

When I was using heavily, I was listening to a lot of Matthew Mayfield.. the Banquet For Ghosts record. Of course, now that I'm sober and hearing it again.. it's like my ears were filled with dirt. It's amazing how much better music sounds when you're head isn't in a fog. Now the CD wont leave my player (and yes.. I still use CD's..) Hah.
 
My new favorite drug song is "The A Team" by Ed Sheeran. It's two years old but just started getting radio play on the new hit music stations. I heard it three times in a few hours a few days ago when I first heard it, and at first I just thought it was a nice song, but each time after that I picked up on more lyrics that made me realize that it's about a crack-whore.

I really like that song too. Reminds me of a few ex-girlfriends.. :\
 
lots of electronic music when i'm rollling...Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, Crystal Castles, random trance mixes that i've downloaded, a little bit of dubstep

when i'm stoned i'll listen to 90's hip hop like A Tribe Called Quest, Mobb Deep or Wu-Tang Clan with some indie stuff like Animal Collective and Modest Mouse thrown in

i have fairly wide ranging tastes though

What song makes you want to get high?

People often have a song that transports them somewhere - whether to a certain place, a certain time, or just a certain mindset - that makes them want to take their drug of choice. What's yours and why?

Reason being because I was listening to it the first time I got high (by accident) on Ambien, which became my favourite drug. I ended up playing the song on repeat for a couple of hours and now when I listen to it I can still imagine floating away on an Ambien cloud, even though I don't take it anymore.
