The Drug Culture Video/Documentary Thread

Law And Disorder In Philadelphia by Louis Theroux is pretty good. It's not as good as some of his other documentaries, but it realistically portrays the life of H addicts in philly.

Christiane H.

Care to elaborate further on that one?

Christiane H? Is that a name of a documentary?

Through a Blue Lens (Canadian documentary about Cocaine and Heroin, shot and made by the police. Really good one.

Diary of a Drug Addict (Lanre Fehintola writes a book about Heroin addiction and by wanting to know what he writes about he tries heroin and end up addicted. There are two parts.

Foo Foo Dust (Documentary about a mother and son, the mother is addicted to mainly Crack in the documentary and the son to Heroin)

High on Crack Street (Just as the title says, its about Crack Cocaine)

Four Corners - The Ice Age (Australian doc about methamphetamine. The camera follows a couple of addicts in their ordinary day)

● And of course the TV-Reality-Series Intervention and Addicted. If there is another shows like this please write.

Edit1

Methadonia (Following a group of people who are members of MMT and they have huge Methadone doses combined with a lot of illegal Benzos so they "nod out" 90% of the doc. hehe. Very good Doc, i want more on Methadone!)
Reindeerspotting (Documentary from Finland about Buprenorphine abuse, the cameraman follows teenager named Jani in his endevours and Subutex abuse, they set of to France to do the mother of all Subutex binges.. kind of)

Ill write down more if more come to mind, lets keep this thread alive.
Is Union Square any good ?

Union Square is pretty good. I just saw what they had on youtube.

While searching for that, I found this documentary called Detox or Die. It's pretty good. Its about heroin, methadone, and ibogaine.

I enjoyed Heroin Nation and Dope Sick Love, but a lot of the other videos are propaganda and irritating to watch. Can't you report on something without being a moralizing ass?

I agree but at the same time the truth how drug addiction looks at "the bottom" must be portrayed as it is.
Here I can agree with you that some documentaries can spice things up a knotch, maybe show a picture of a 17 year old girl and then show them a horrible picture 1-2 years later at their worst.

Things like that can be a bit annoying but all in all I enjoy the documentaries for the most part, I want to follow a group of people and see how they live and hear their story and kind of get a sence for the area in which the Doc is being filmed.
And then watch some funny and interesting scenery.

I don't really care what the morality of the documentary is just as long as it got good scenes (IVing shit, smoking shit and doing shit) and a phase where you get a chance to get to know the people in the film.

I just finished downloading an Aussie documentary about meth called "The Ice Age" (it took me several days to download via torrent due to lack of seeds!). It's a good insight into the lives of hardcore meth addicts, for those who aren't into the scene... it's very real.

I'm watching The Ice Age right now. I like it. This is how an addiction documentary should be done. It doesn't paint a pretty picture, but I also don't feel like I'm back in 6th grade DARE class.

"the city addicted to meth", about Fresno, its made by the BBC, kinda wierd to have a british guy narrating this one. Its pretty ridiculous to see these gacked-out people being arrested, still high as hell, and then this guy saying "hi, I'm from the bbc, what drug are you on".

He even goes into a house with people who are actively using meth and hangs out with them for a while. And the messed up thing is that the little kids in the house keep peeking out at them.

Its a good documentary about the lives of people affected by meth and meth use.

^ I didn't particularly like that one... it wasn't all that interesting or engaging, and Louis Theroux was just annoying.

one more for dope sick love... part of hbo's america undercover series.

probably one of the best, if not the best drug doc that i've ever seen... although hard to watch at times, it's worth watching.

can definitely be found on a certain torrent site... the one with the pirate ship as their logo...

Hello bxlfg I'm going to brag for a min. I've see them all and the best is. (The drug war. The prison industrial complex) http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/the-war-on-drugs/ It's not about drug cultural but don't worry it's well worth the time. Off subject (Blue gold) is a very good documentary about water check it out and see if your head don't spin after that. (Rush is a true story can you please provide any proof of that.)
