The Doof Thread

See that's funny they're shutting them down - that says they're getting dickheads coming to the parties -

We had over 500 at collective illness, police showed up the next day, but they were alright just flexed their muscles made sure we were gonna tidy up and fucked off...

There has to be a reason the cops are clamping down on this crew of so-called 'doofers'
 
That area is an absolutely minuscule partly cleared island of trees in suburbia. Regardless of what they call it(if it was even anyone but the police/media calling it a doof) almost no one there would have been doofers/thought they were going to a doof. I hate this area.

I would love to go to a doof in a rainforrest, although i dont think anything can replace the beauty of WA's bushland for me.

Altho not a doof, im sure there are lots of old and younger trippers that go. It's the annual pot fest that happens at Nimbin each yr. There probably are doofs around the areas there if you know the right people though. Which I don't anymore. A mullum local told me a while back the doofs around the shire areas and inland are getting less and less on the larger scale as too many of the wrong people were trekking in and lots of wildlife were getting killed and people kept complaining about the bass.

I went to a free NYD doof off 7 mile beach rd just sth of suffolk park and broken head ages ago with 2 tee pees set up on the beach with dj's in them, we ventured there in the hours before sunlight on nyd after partying in byron all night on nye, we met a fellow tripper and he came with us in the car for the trip from byron (we were on pills and wizz and acid) anyway the guy decided to go cliff exploring mid way when we stopped and he climbed down a cliff thinking the party might be down there and we waited for him for ages and yelled out and we never saw him again, we still wonder about that guy. The free doof on the beach was great tho, as the sun came up and all these feral hippies going mental to the beats and the ocean was nice and warm... ahh.

NNSW has had a bad reputation for many years. So much so that a lot of Brisbanites refuse to cross the border for a doof. Crazy kids (often on meth) starting fights and stealing shit. I see it as a good idea keeping this part of the scene even more low key. It's a shame because there are some lovely people in that beautiful part of the country.

Yep, they trashed just about every car in a carpark when a party was on at coorabell hall I think it was offhand (a while back now), it was in the paper up there when I was up, they said they thought they were all on ice as they were so agro and ott with their smashing shit for no apparent reason. Also byron now has the label of the most violent place in nsw after dark for alcohol fuelled violence, which is no doubt sometimes mixed with meth, a cop on the news from the byron cop shop said its way worse than any place in sydney he has ever worked for violence at night in the main streets of byron, pretty sad. They need those cctv's everywhere in the main streets I rekon, some people were saying it's an invasion of privacy on their town, but fuck that, so many people are getting KO'ed at night for no reason, the cops need evidence of it so they can prosecute the trouble makers who are ruining it for everyone.

It would be easy to blame meth but I know plenty of meth heads and not one of them is a stereotypical rage head. Reality is a large number of kids around Byron, Nimbin etc are out of control, drop out cunts. Who is to blame? The place is pretty hedonistic, high unemployment and also it is almost acceptable to bum around, surf and get fucked up. Throw in on top of this a generation of flakey hippy parents who let their kids run a mock with little responsibility for their actions. A lot of my mates who grew up there agree. The schools are often out of control and there is nothing to do on weekends but get fucked up and cause trouble.

What pisses me off most, is that it wasn't even a doof.. The media has just gone and labelled it incorrectly (dick).
I live one suburb away from that place.. & I do not know a single doofer who had even heard about that event until it was in the newspaper.
It would have been some shitty electronic r&b sounding crunk-fest for sure. Nothing psychedelic about it.
Definitely not Doof culture.

never ended up going to may the 4th be with you,i went to bush wars (they had a much better sound system!) was pretty cool a tad too much psy for me but thats what doofs are all about i guess.....a few cars crashed on the way in (someone rolled the 4wd and another person hit a roo) some cunts ended up torching the 4wd and fireys had to come and put it out and apprentley in the morning some more locals came and torched the car that hit the roo..........idno if i posted it or not but the last big doof some media cunts did 3 pages in there local paper about it....the title was "out law doofs" i'll post the pictures of it when i get the chance
