The Dive's Covid Thread

So let's be clear about it:
what do you think it's going on in the world? what do you think it's going on with the current world events in terms of their direction?
to put it in the most simplest ways, I think ultra rich people are absorbing the most power as they can before the shit hits the fan and we see mass revolt, starvation, etc....

you could sum up almost everything as that

Because most people is so incredibly stupid and gullible (and are too busy with their own issues) that they don't even need to fake or hide anything, they just need to lie in terms of posting grotesque mass-media excuses.
Don't overstimate how human being work, we are quite stupid, in terms of majority of people, otherwise things like wars would be IMPOSSIBLE. But they happen, everytime, since millenia.
yeah, no offense, but this is really stupid opinion

it belies the fact that you think every single human who is more knowledgeable and educated than you also can't process basic science or statistics

the average person is stupid, I'm not arguing that, but you think that billions of people who know more than you also think there is some grand conspiracy, and sorry to disappoint you that's not the case

where are all the professors, academics, scientists, doctors that join your cause??? where are they? :( Don't link me 1 or 2 out of fucking millions

don't tell me the government has silenced them or big media, don't you dare tell me that, completely false

Is not that, and please, stop using phrases like that's an stupid opinion because otherwise I would change my usually polite mode into a non-polite one. I'm pretty sure you don't want to be humilliated.

It's basically that what you're saying implies, in some way that being "more intelligent" or "knowing more" is about recognizing facts and "basic science", that's incredibly unidimensional.
People can be Einstein-like, or let's say Sharon Stone-like in terms of IQ and at the same time, being so stupid in the wide term of the word.
Why? because people need something else to live in this planet fully, and that's having some connection with themselves, intuition, being lucid and specially, among anything else: not being a freaking coward that needs some basic anchor or belief in terms of trusting something to rely on.

I know I can't do this, but if I could I would prefer to live only with people who doesn't need that anchor, because those who can think be themselves can FEEL by themselves, they don't need to avoid any kind of reality, inner or outer. I don't think that most people can do that, nor they want to, because it means to be able to be lonely, without suffering, which is something that doesn't happen normally. Someone who says things like "trust the science" as a motto, as thousand people have done in the pandemic... s/he can have 3 thesis and 10 masters, he could be working for the most top class scientific organization.. for me that person in just, well, I let the adjectives for someone else.
Also, how exactly do you know that are "billions of people who know more than me" Do you know anything about me? come on guy...

This phrases are enough for me to think about you that you don't have any idea about the world you're living in, nor how accommodating, selfish, cowardly, vague, delegating and obedient human being is. You trust humans, you trust society, you trust "science"....
I hope you won't suffer so much when you realize that, I tell you once again: you're overrating how human being really is.

Dude scientist and politicians are above selling out lying or just being wrong, errybody know that

you could sum up almost everything as that
but why shit would hit the fan? what would be the trigger? economic? ecologic? all at once? it's created by human idiocy or it's because they decided to do it like that?
those are important issues.

Everyone just needs to "believe in science". As the religion evolves, so should your beliefs.

Believe :trippy:
I may by a cynical asshole but I find it better to trust no one until they prove themself trustworthy rather than trusting someone until proven untrustworthy, but hey to each their own I kind of admire someone who can have blind faith In humanity

Born like this

Into this

As the chalk faces smile

As Mrs. Death laughs

As the elevators break

As political landscapes dissolve

As the supermarket bag boy holds a college degree

As the oily fish spit out their oily prey

As the sun is masked

We are

Born like this

Into this

Into these carefully mad wars

Into the sight of broken factory windows of emptiness

Into bars where people no longer speak to each other

Into fist fights that end as shootings and knifings

Born into this

Into hospitals which are so expensive that it’s cheaper to die

Into lawyers who charge so much it’s cheaper to plead guilty

Into a country where the jails are full and the madhouses closed

Into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich heroes

Born into this

Walking and living through this

Dying because of this

Muted because of this

Castrated

Debauched

Disinherited

Because of this

Fooled by this

Used by this

Pissed on by this

Made crazy and sick by this

Made violent

Made inhuman

By this

The heart is blackened

The fingers reach for the throat

The gun

The knife

The bomb

The fingers reach toward an unresponsive god

The fingers reach for the bottle

The pill

The powder

We are born into this sorrowful deadliness

We are born into a government 60 years in debt

That soon will be unable to even pay the interest on that debt

And the banks will burn

Money will be useless

There will be open and unpunished murder in the streets

It will be guns and roving mobs

Land will be useless

Food will become a diminishing return

Nuclear power will be taken over by the many

Explosions will continually shake the earth

Radiated robot men will stalk each other

The rich and the chosen will watch from space platforms

Dante’s Inferno will be made to look like a children’s playground

The sun will not be seen and it will always be night

Trees will die

All vegetation will die

Radiated men will eat the flesh of radiated men

The sea will be poisoned

The lakes and rivers will vanish

Rain will be the new gold

The rotting bodies of men and animals will stink in the dark wind

The last few survivors will be overtaken by new and hideous diseases

And the space platforms will be destroyed by attrition

The petering out of supplies

The natural effect of general decay

And there will be the most beautiful silence never heard

Born out of that.

The sun still hidden there

Awaiting the next chapter.
That’s why I don’t get, you are obviously a very deep thinker, but some of the stuff you believe baffles me , but I guess odds are I’m not anymore right or wrong then you since we are both getting most our info from unreliable sources with an agenda to make money and please people who can have a positive effect on their career

Local health stats show unvaxxed kids less likely to have COVID than vaccinated youth

Just last night, listener Sally gave me a link to a King County Department of Health report about COVID cases involving various age groups.

I wallowed for more than three hours in it, slogging through statistics from the last 30 days. This report broke age groups into three categories: boosted – which means you have two shots and at least one booster; fully vaccinated – which covers people with just two shots; and not fully vaccinated – people with one or no shots.

What’s most notable is among children.

Using figures based on every 100,000 people in King County, if you have a 5- to 11-year-old and they are fully vaccinated, they are 46% more likely to catch or have COVID than unvaccinated 5- to 11-year-olds.

What about local 12- to 15-year-olds? They’re the youngest age group eligible for the booster. According to this same data, if your child is 12 to 15 and boosted, they are 16 percent more likely to get COVID compared to unvaccinated kids their same age.

For 16- and 17-year-olds? They’re 14 percent more likely to get COVID. This report appears to show that for every age range, children who are vaccinated and potentially boosted are more likely to get COVID than unvaccinated children.

And when they say their data may be faulty because those previously infected with COVID have “natural protection against” it, why are they still firing county workers and contractors for being unvaccinated?

Everyone just needs to "believe in science". As the religion evolves, so should your beliefs.

Believe :trippy:
The thing is that, super-ironically..., religion was right from the start: the problem of humanity is NOT the problem that most Illuminism said it was, (that we need the "light of reason"...), the problem is and will always be a moral and ethical problem. That's something that most people don't want to accept, they want to think the problem is only or mainly about knowledge or access to resources. This discussion/difference has been happening since the first times of Christianity, morals vs knowledge, with the Gnostics vs the people in the Church. While I could empathize with the original Gnostics and don't think they were evil or satanic in anyway, the way it has evolved through history: Templars-Masons-Neo Satanism- AI driven Technocracy... It's fucking crap, it's honestly some horrible evolution towards mental, spiritual, cultural and eventually physical/economical SLAVERY.
I mean, obviously being more informed, being more curious and being more prone to think by yourself is better than the opposite, that's what Kant wanted to say when he talked about the nonage of reason:

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment.

Laziness and cowardice are the reasons why such a large part of mankind gladly remain minors all their lives, long after nature has freed them from external guidance. They are the reasons why it is so easy for others to set themselves up as guardians. It is so comfortable to be a minor. If I have a book that thinks for me, a pastor who acts as my conscience, a physician who prescribes my diet, and so on--then I have no need to exert myself. I have no need to think, if only I can pay; others will take care of that disagreeable business for me. Those guardians who have kindly taken supervision upon themselves see to it that the overwhelming majority of mankind--among them the entire fair sex--should consider the step to maturity, not only as hard, but as extremely dangerous. First, these guardians make their domestic cattle stupid and carefully prevent the docile creatures from taking a single step without the leading-strings to which they have fastened them. Then they show them the danger that would threaten them if they should try to walk by themselves. Now this danger is really not very great; after stumbling a few times they would, at last, learn to walk. However, examples of such failures intimidate and generally discourage all further attempts.

Thus it is very difficult for the individual to work himself out of the nonage which has become almost second nature to him. He has even grown to like it, and is at first really incapable of using his own understanding because he has never been permitted to try it. Dogmas and formulas, these mechanical tools designed for reasonable use--or rather abuse--of his natural gifts, are the fetters of an everlasting nonage. The man who casts them off would make an uncertain leap over the narrowest ditch, because he is not used to such free movement. That is why there are only a few men who walk firmly, and who have emerged from nonage by cultivating their own minds."

The serious problem with this is that this nonage of reason is NOT due to lack of knowledge or lack of any outer source (of data) for example. The problem with this is that it is a spiritual step, a difficult moral and spiritual step that one must take to evolve. It's not easy, it's not encouraged and it's not confortable, that's the basic reason why all this is happening, we never ever reached the Enlightenment in Kantian terms and we probably won't do in the very next phase of history, unless something really really traumatic happens, and well, it could happen.

immune function among vaccinated individuals 8mo. after the administration of two doses of COVID vaccine was lower than that among the unvaccinated

frequent booster shots could adversely affect the immune response

The study showed that immune function among vaccinated individuals 8 months after the administration of two doses of COVID-19 vaccine was lower than that among the unvaccinated individuals. According to European Medicines Agency recommendations, frequent COVID-19 booster shots could adversely affect the immune response and may not be feasible.
