I kind of hate what the word "cancelled" has become tbh

You'd hear the word sometimes in previous decades but it never seemed so loaded...like a TV show would get cancelled if it had poor ratings, or a baseball game would get cancelled due to poor weather, or whatever else...now it just seems so loaded and stoopid

It wouldn't even have made sense to use it the way people do today...like you're gonna "cancel" a person? Wtf does that mean? It sounds kinda dark actually

One of my earliest political memories is GWB being glorified, Fox News (all the major stations used to have a right slant) , etc. Remember satellite radio and Air America and shit? There was no representation for what was considered true liberals backs then so stuff like Air America was considered rogue counterculture lol. Daily Show and Colbert Report were appointment TV for lefties because Comedy Central was the only ones at that time that felt comfortable really pushing the status quo.

I was in middle school-high school during all of this so I was not very involved. But I was politically aware from a pretty young age and I definitely remember the idea of "right wing media". Remember when the Dixie Cicks got cancelled by all the radio stations? Hey, there's a freebie example of early right wing cancellation.

yeah it actually is dark. It inhibits the process of human growth and enlightenment. Creates resentment and furthers the divide between us as a society.
 
so I heard on the radio that there has been over 172 mass shootings in the US in the first 4 months of 2022 alone...

it's almost so unfunny that I had to laugh

It sickens me and I was raised in a pretty hardcore 2A family.

So I usually listen to NPR all day at work in the background and 95% of their shit is all political, bullshit, bad news, people complaining, pointing fingers, blah blah blah... I noticed I've been listening to political shit all day and all night for awhile now...

I just had to turn that shit off and just worked in silence and noticed my mood improved drastically

I've been paying too much attention to all this bullshit which most of it doesn't even apply to me, I'm taking a break from political shit and just gonna live my own life for awhile

I think that crap becomes toxic when you pay too much attention 24/7

yeah, the world is burning, fuck it im just gonna chill and pay attention to my own life for awhile

Jk lol, I think George Washington Carver was the peanut guy. Idk what he really did tho I just know he's associated with peanuts somehow lol I think he made peanut butter? Idk
