I ask about this because I'm probably going to be put on Adderall instead of my current ADD medication, Strattera, which was causing me a lot of problems. I literally know nothing about stimulants in the world of drugs. I heard Adderall was an amphetamine after my doctor suggested it, so I was confused as to what this was. Thanks for answering my questions! My doctor suggested using stimulants for ADD because I had avoided them in the past due to the misconception that it was meth. (Yes, I know I'm a retard) but since almost every non stimulant ADD medication has given me problems, so I'm going to give in now. Thanks! And sorry didn't know speed meant different things in different areas, thought it was like how dope means heroin.
The other posters are right, if you've never used meth, it's a very good idea not to try it. However, the bullshit you hear about the first time people smoke and they're hooked is not always true. It wasn't the case for me and I still can put it down due to the fact I stop after 72 hours, even if I have some left. However, with any other drug, there are always those people that do get hooked the first time.
The only time I experienced some psychological issues was when I was inexperienced and didn't sleep, eat, and hydrate. After that instance, I always make sure to do those three things and I set myself a limit of 3 days and like I said, I put it down. If I have some left, that's great. I won't sit there and say, "Oh, it's about the 72 hour mark, let me smoke all of what I have." Moderation is the key to being responsible with this shit (It's always been harder for me on opiates, I have no moderation for my DOC, Opana). It amazes me to this day that I can still save ice instead of burning through it in a day and night. Which, I buy weight when I get it so my quantity (Quality is always there) is great.
I just wanted to say that Adderall is some of the cleanest speed I've done. Some types of speed (Pills) have made my skin crawl, make me a nervous wreck, and so forth. But that's one thing I can say about meth. If I go to work and I've been smoking, I have the ability to stay focused on one task, my mind doesn't race like it usually does, and I have an easier time when I'm multi-tasking. I should go see a doctor about my ADHD, I've just never done so. When I've took Adderall, it was amazing what it did for me. If I'm not using meth or speed, I have 1000 thoughts that go through my head at one time and couldn't stay focused long enough to take a shit.
I'm definitely not saying use meth to help your ADD. Meth gets a bad rep and it is a horrible drug. However, with harm reduction techniques and some good common sense, you don't have to fuck up the way others do when they just don't use their brain. If you do have ADD, let me know how that Adderall helped your situation, if the doctor goes that route. I'm definitely going to see a doc soon because I'm not going to self medicate with meth every day and I enjoy the fact that I can actually think clearly and focus when I'm at work instead of trying to process a thousand things at once. My job requires a lot of multi-tasking as is and I do a damn good job where I'm at, but with ADD, it can be a challenge some days.
Good luck!
