The Deep thread

^whoa...up until now, I've never heard of Cooly's Hot Box. I didn't know Christian Urich was in a band with Angela Johnson. They sound pretty cool. Too bad about your record.
 
StarOceanHouse - that track i'm uploading it's actually a very cool mix of samples from other disco /house records - some of which are already in tracks i've uploaded on youtube! what are the odds?!

the strings sample (2:39) is also used on Igor & Grishka's - You kiss so lovely (earlier in this thread),

another one i recognise from a track by "House of 909" - called "The Main Event" (1:52 filtered synth/keys that are in the main chorus section)

& the looped disco bassline (fades in around 2:00 - 2:20) is the same sample used in a record that i uploaded for MDMAhead earlier in this thread - Circulation Lime A side!!! - think it's from a stevie wonder record...

That's either really freaky or i'm just straight tripping!

When you think about it though - a lot of the deep house at the time was made this way, through sampling or using the same samples that were on a lot of other peoples records - probably why they called themselves nightsource as they sourced their samples from other peoples late night tracks.

Excellent track though... love those dub samples and dub percussion - miguel migs's signature sound.

I've got tonnes of his stuff new and old, though i play more minimal technouse these days i still drop the odd soulful record in.

Just gave your mix a quick skim-listen - sounds good :) - lots of deep tech-house goodness, and also some funky shit as well - I love the discoey track (with the female vocal) at around 50 minutes. Will give it a proper listen this weekend!
