I'd prefer to see Bluelight.ru located at the top, as opposed to it's current placement. But to each his/her own.

Is it necessary to have these 2 sentences directly after each other? They basically say the same thing. I know that's only a rough draft, and I'm not criticizing you Damien, I think you did a good job, I'm just offering a siggestion.
 
No, it's all good, feedback is good. I just cut and paste from the FAQ. I do see what you are saying though. Good call.

I did have it at the top at first but then I got to thinking site promotion was probably the secondary goal.

I agree. Harm reduction is way more important than plugging the site.
"www.Bluelight.ru" is the second largest font though and IMO it stands out just fine. Maybe it would stand out more if it was a more vibrant color?:\
Is there a deadline for this, btw?

Originally we had a deadline, but I'm thinking we're going to simply wait until we get a decent collection of entries. There's no definitive deadline at the moment, but we'll let everyone know.
 
Let's just end it now so I can win the prize. ;) What kind of color do you think for the BL at the bottom Delta?

Something more neon...we gotta appeal to the ravers dontcha know? ;) I dunno, I've been told I dont have the best taste :|. Maybe try out a few diffirent ones? I was just grabbing colors from the toolbar so I know there's more options. I do like what you've got going on already though, with pills in the backround and all. It's very similar to the ones dancesafe were passing out, and I really liked those. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I wish I still had at least one of them to show you guys. I either lost them or or they got ruined. I would always be folding them to break up weed, and I used the 2c-b one to break up and snort some.....*drum roll*....2C-B!!!!! =D
But I dont wanna step on your toes, what do you think?

Sorry for the dbl post but I found a few pix.
These are some of the exact same ones I got from dancesafe.

Unfortunately these are only the front. The backside has all the actual information. The only ones which aren't identicle to the ones I used to have are GHB, mushrooms(which I didn't see them passing out), speed(again, I didn't see them handing these out), tobacco(do I really need to say it again :|), and "protect your hearing"(not really a drug:p).

I know the Mdma one has a butterfly, but I'm almost positive the backside had pictures of random pills.

Hopefully these can be a helpful referrence :) since this is going to be double sided, right?

edit - In an entirely unrealted matter, I'm actually rather surprised Dancesafe is charging money for those. Although I suppose 10 cents/flier isn't much :\

Thanks. I was trying to keep it as simple as possible because I was/am under the impression that while some people may donate time and effort to having these printed on some nice glossy paper, we also wanted people to have the option of printing them out at home.
 
That makes sense to me :)
Mass producing "high quality" fliers can be quite costly I'm sure, and for a simple home print out that looks good to me. All the basics are pretty much covered and if anyone needs to know more, they can just visit us here =D

edit - ah, I see you've added Dancesafe too, I didn't catch that at first. I actually quite like that the 3 main sites(bl, ero, and ds....Bluelight being #1, of course :D) up there have quality information about ALL drugs, and not just mdma.
 
I absolutely love the way its set out Damien..........love the background and also the headings are done........thats whwere I would have failed miserably.

Reading the text however has me thinking......what is the message that is most important to get across here?

Obviously its important not to offer to much or it will not be read.

So if we are restricted in the ammount offerred then I guess to me the most important part of the message is that any info offerred is interesting and valuable and also that it encourages readers to seek more info from any or all of the links provided.

But how does one achieve that?

I agree and I chose the ones that I knew would appeal to me. If someone has a different idea on what it should say I am all ears. Like I said I have never really tried MDMA, so it's harder for me to get a "rollers" perspective.

If I had to pick what people reading that would care the least about, it would probably be the "how does mdma work" section. Unfortunately, many people who take drugs dont really care how they work as long as they do work. :\ But on second thought, that may be precisely why that section should stay.

I would also take MDA/MDE out of the adulterants section, but that's just me. I've said before that IMO "ecstasy" is a misnomer and dosen't mean only mdma. It even says right below the entrance to ED "MDMA, MDA and closely related drugs". But I wanna stress that this is just my personal opinion and I've gotten flamed for saying this before.

Maybe putting the adulterants in order from most likely to least likely could help too. This page from Ecstasydata.com can certainly help with that:)
The other changes I would make to adulterants section would be to add a piperazine(bzp or mcpp for example), and combine methamphetamine and amphetamine into "(meth)amphetamines", and maybe change ephedrine to "(pseudo)ephedrine", although IMO this one dosen't matter as much.

Very nice initiative! However, I think the current flyer is way too difficult and contains too much text.

I have to say though, that I have little feeling with "ravers" or people who would go to a party and by a pill from a total stranger. What I do think to know, is that those people aren't interested in the receptor sites for the molecules or every possible adulterant known to man (5-MEO-DIPT? How do you pronounce that anyway?). Use the street names instead of the scientific names and only list the very common adulterants and, if possible, a short description of their effect.
The people came there to party. Not everybody is interested in the scientific facts about a substance. Some people just want to have fun and dance all night. For those people, you need short, easy and recognisable information.

Other remarks:

"how much should I take?"
Instead of explaining how difficult it is to measure the exact amount of mdma, I'd recommend them to start with a half pill if they don't know the "brand" or the seller and tell them how long to wait to take more if the effect isn't enough.

"prevention of water intoxication"
What's wrong with "beverages" instead of fluids? These people are ravers, no students at a chemical lab. I'd explain that salty food or sports drinks would be allright.

"hyperthermia"
fancy word, but "overheating" sounds more recognisable.
Solution? "Drink enough and take a break to cool down sometimes"

I'd also add the typical length of a trip and the warning that overdoing it fucks up your mood for the rest of the week and isn't really that healthy. Also very important is the warning that mixing with other drugs is, as always, not a good idea. Especially not with alcohol.


Just my 2 cents, very nice job otherwise :-)
 
^If you feel this current flyer is too busy -- create your own! Obviously that goes for everyone. :)

I'm going to be working on my own entry here soon too.
