The Daily Mail gets its knickers in a twist..

"Mary Brett of Cannabis Skunk Sense said..."

I think I did well to read up to that point. And I think Mary Brett has been watching too much Chris Morris thinking its documentary.

Especially like the way they point out that the specific part of Kew it's being held at is the Princess Diana Memorial bit :D

Anybody notice that of the four drugs included on the poster caffeine got not one single outraged comment from anybody. Apparently only some drugs are just bad, m'kay. Half those on show aren't even illegal in plant form 8)

Also encouraging to see how much the comments section tends to be weighted in favour of sane folk (at least on drug issues) compared to a couple years back when anybody expressing a sensible view was red-arrowed out of existence within moments.

Might be nice if folk just posted the text of Heil articles along with a linky to the page so folk can choose not to go to their actual site though. It only encourages them to continue existing.

Lol I'd never have heard about this if the Daily Mail hadn't made such a big thing about it and got the link passed around social networks etc. Thanks Paul Dacre! That article is some horseshit though, the whole "won't someone think of the children" angle is bollocks as when I looked on the website apparently you need to be 18+ to get tickets to go. Never heard of any of the people quoted in the article either (apart from David Nutt obviously!). Who the fuck is Mary Berry? Me and my girlfriend are considering going, haven't been to Kew Gardens before and looks like an interesting exhibition, could be a good day out. Maybe one day if drug laws become more sensible they could do an interactive version... Would love to have a go on mescaline :)

The Heil quote the same rabid anti-drug talking heads in any and all of their drug articles trying to represent (or create) them as some form of acknowledged authority on the subject rather than exactly what they sound like - UberTories with a bee in their bonnet about drugs above and beyond even yer bogstandard UberTory. Nobody knows who they are other than Heil readers as far as I can tell. Even then they only know 'em from being quoted in Heil articles presumably 8)

Sounds about right... Urgh the Mail is so shit. Platform for right wing lunatics and prohibitionist nutters everywhere...

Oh here she is then

The poster advertising the image depicts a cannabis leaf, a psilocybin mushroom, an opium poppy head and a coffee bean.

Any idea which of those images they chose conveniently to ignore altogether when making their frothing diatribe?

Apart from the mirror it was the only paper I can remember not going along with the Iraq war tho - the guardian knelt down and took Tony Blairs engorged cock right to the back of it's gills.

^the independent i believe (with the bonus that it wasn't a nazi rag (or anything to do with piers morgan)). Independent's just as shit now (owned by a russian oligarch (the anti-putin type)). There was plenty of anti-war stuff in the guardian outside editorials too.

The daily mail's angle was probably 'what you wasting bullets on those darkies - there's hippies and unionists right here!' (not much exaggeration really)

(saying that i've read the odd good article in the heil recently on stuff the guardian wouldn't touch (eg peter hitchens (unbelievably) on syria and ukraine; also peter obourne does some good stuff in the telegraph - i'd rather have a totally rabid right wing journalist who sticks to their principles and does journalism than any 'left wing' yes man twat spouting approved propaganda like mostly populates the grauniad)

I've always hated the fucking independent tho - they campaigned for cannabis to be class C then a few years later started a campaign to make it class B again. Cunts.
