There are a few companies that ship worldwide though, and if that's just NOT an option you could just buy the chemicals to make it yourself. $10 of formaldehyde and sulfuric acid is enough for like 1000 tests lmao and it's not a hard process at all. There's a few threads on it if you want to search, or you can PM me and I'd be happy to try and help you get your hands on some kits haha :)

My friend works in a lab, so she's going to try to mix up a reagent. It seems like the most logical option, since the South African postal service is a bit of a joke. I just have these visions of arriving at the post office only to pick up a package of broken glass and useless chemicals because they can't handle stuff correctly. That said, maybe there's a way I can request extra packaging, 'Fragile' stickers, etc. and hope for the best. I really do need to make a plan though - any advice/thoughts would be much appreciated, of course. :)

And laugh, I do quite like Die Antwoord but I don't think they're any representation of the awesome musical talent out there. That said, my favourite Die Antwoord track (motherfucking Enya, yo!):

 
yeh i agree they are pretty shit house. i think they have a couple good songs but im fucked if i know them. saw a couple of their songs at a festival but bailed pretty quickly.

I'm based in Cape Town but I grew up in Joburg.

My thoughts on South Africa? It's a tough call. It's a beautiful place (Cape Town especially) with a lot of incredible people, but the government/ administration is fucked - corrupt and incompetent - and naturally, that leads to its own set of issues: crime, poor education, increased poverty and joblessness, etc. I'm aware of these issues, but I - as a gainfully employed, fairly well off young person - lead a pretty sweet life. I'm working five days a week, going out fairly often (looking forward to seeing Skrillex here next month!), trying to save up to do some travelling, etc. Like anywhere, life's good if you can afford it - the main problem here is that the majority can't and those in power aren't doing anything to better that.

Where am I not planning on travelling? :)

I've got an EU passport, so will probably hit Europe first, maybe do some work. I've been to the UK a couple times, but would like to explore the continent a little further.

As for what I write, my focus is mainly on popular culture, so music, art, etc. (half the time that I'm at parties it's in my work capacity), but I can write about just about anything if I'm asked to. I don't do hard news though - too hectic.

Im working my bollocks thin modding this forum and doing my uni work etc, havent had time to amend the OP. Just so you're informed, as its fair, the mod thing will be sorted soon.

yeh i wish i could travel everywhere! seriously keen to see mt everest, india, eusrope, south america, so like you pretty much everywhere..

is your writing published, like are you in any papers or mags, or just more blogs n stuff? dont need to give specifics obviously. who are writers you rate?

i'm rolling alone. anyone up for a chat? had a pretty shitty last day/week/month/year. but feeling fine right now (and most of the time, too)

Yup, my writing is published. I work predominantly in print media (mostly magazines), but I've written guest posts for blogs, etc. Writers I rate? I try not to get too into writers working in the same field, in case my writing starts to get derivative, but I guess my main heroes are Hunter S. Thompson (naturally) and Will Self (probably also unsurprising). My dream, though, is to get involved in writing biographies a la Neil Strauss. He is just too cool.

So, what does everyone else do?

Also, +1 to the party yacht. The 'high' seas... =D

All great! As for Carlos Castaneda, the other night someone actually reminded me about this time we were really stoned and I was trying to explain 'The Art of Dreaming' to them. I can't even describe that book sober - I have no idea how I thought it was a good idea to talk about it when I could barely get through a sentence without forgetting what I was saying. 8(
