Holy shit, this mix is insane.. every track is a fucking banger. I really don't know how you guys can not LOVE that, even the track I posted seemed.... lacking, compared to the Hard Trance/Dance these few DJs make.



Josh Lang has quickly become one of my favorite producers since hearing White Thing a week or two ago. That mix is pure carnage, just like all of his tracks.





This shit needs to go more mainstream, what's popular these days sucks nuts, and they aren't even deez ones
 
Hmm... am trying - really I am - but does sound kinda by-the-numbers, off-the-peg, somewhat soulless kinda tunes to me. Formulaic, as it were. Not that there's anything wrong with formulas. But needs to be a particularly good formula to avoid getting a tad yawnsome after a while. I'm pretty sure most of what I post is pretty yawnsome to y'all too, mind. I, however, am right ;)

I suspect this may be a "Funny foreigners - they do things different over there, don't they?" kinda deal really. I'm sure if I were drugged up somewhere and it was on I'd appreciate it more but is not the kinda thing I'd seek out or make a point of listening to. As ever, am ready, willing and able to eat my words. Persuade me.

That last mix you posted (obviously only skimmed it) sounds okay actually. RHCP samples are always gonna be a winner :D

Yeah, I feel the same.. I can dig some tech, even got a Steve Hill/Andrea mix somewhere in the making lmao. Not my first choice either, though.. just seems a bit basic compared to the intense melodies and face melting bass I've been used to
 
^ Don't you ever like to mix it up with summat a bit more subtle every now and then? Is what I mean by "soulless, cookie-cutter" tunes. Is kinda like dance music by numbers to me. Okay, I suppose, set and setting and all that, but just nowt very memorable or special about it to me. Yes we all <3 "the drop" but a lotta tunes da yoof (especially y'all Seppo yoof) are into are just kinda fetishising it and making it a bit humdrum to my ears. But my ears are always open so will continue to clicky on yer linkies and will tell y'all if/when you hit my sweetspot.

That genre focuses a lot on synths and grinding melodies.. it's a lot more unique track to track than say, Hardstyle. I get what you mean, although I don't agree!! That's kind of how tech is for me, I love a good squelching synth but don't want the whole song based on it. The rhythm of the bass is what really gets me, so I prefer tracks that are more developed in that area



I don't think I have much if anything that's "subtle" though lol.. although I've got some amazing acieeeeddd and quite a bit of techno. Teeny bit of house, enough dubstep just to say I have it lmao, a good amount of Hardcore and a LOT of Hardstyle. Really though, the best music I have is a mixture of hard trance/tech/dance in one
 
Pounding rhythm, funky basslines, squelches - oh lordy yes throw in plenty squelches, sweet samples... All these things are Good Things. Demonstrate. You've posted one tune earlier that I actually did properly like.

Ya. See now that's not 'orrible or owt. Is perfectly serviceable. Just a bit... dead behind the eyes is all. As I said, if I were out and about and suitably intoxicated I'm sure I'd shake a lil tailfeather. I would, however, be more likely to wander off to find a tent playing better tunes ;)<3

Am pretty sure you ain't gonna like this much either. It's that rough 'n' ready sound that makes it a winner though. Not overproduced to all fuck and back. If ya gonna go big on production then make it a bit more interesting to listen to. Is just a bit cut 'n' paste for my taste is all.

But heyho, variety is the spice of life. I'm sure it's just me really. Although I doubt you'll find many takers for most of that kinda stuff outside of the US. Loved over there, loathed everywhere else ;)

Eh, I still don't agree lol.. I mean, they mostly follow the same pattern so I get that but each one achieves it in a unique way. The bum-bum-bum is of course not going to vary a ton (although, they throw some sexy ass reverb in that gives it a lot more character) but the breakdowns, vocals and melodies are usually pretty damn different. They get pretty experimental, well some do at least lol. I'm sure some just do it by the books but hell, even then still sounds great to me :D

yeah, I didn't quite like your willy wonka track lol. Beginning was a bit groovy but I don't like where it went.. tech is great, but earlier than 2008 and the sound quality starts to drop a lot

Rough around the edges production has its charms. Obviously it helps being there at the time - and totally accept that things have moved on since. Much as I <3 posting a bit o' belting oldskool Goodness I'm more than happy to post up new stuff too. I <3 quality production.
