I been to more shows than anyone in this thread, I would bet. Circa 900 since 2000. I used to live on the road. I love rolling to a great artist live. It is an experience that is awesome, yet different, everytime. As of late I enjoy chillin at the house, but I still go to 15 fests/shows a year, and honestly I would rather roll at home nowadays. Same with LSD.

explain to me what is the difference between raves and shows then...
if youd never been ravin howd you know what is a good place to rave

Ive got plenty of friends who do lol, they ALL say that shows these days suck.

the whole mainstream vibe of shows makes me stay away, the music sucks, theres way too many people doing it that shouldnt be, and everyone is just trying to get as FUCKED UP as possible on piperazines

a rave is a small event, with some good DJs and shit, thrown in a Warehouse or hanger or something, with a few hundred people that come for the love of the music

shows are the big, overcrowded sweaty partys playing dubstep that pop up to try and make money off of the people who love the music

Rave = love for music and PLUR
Show = LET MAKE MONEY OFF THESE DUMB ASS AMERICANS

i dont see how theres much of a distinction between the two...
making assumptions is bad, mmkay?

if you chose to view the scene that way then that's what you'll see

just because something gets big and 'mainstream' doesn't make it bad. A lot of people who might not appreciate it in the way you want them to can go to it because of comercial success but in the end you can choose to have fun at the rave (or show or whatever the fuck you want to call it) or you can choose to sulk in the corner and judge everyone infront of you.

rave hipsters are the antithesis of plur...

this.
and i dont do that whole plur kinda BS at all, but if you're going to be one of those people judging those you view as raving wrong like that isn't "PLUR" on your part no matter what.
specially when you'z got no experience in the field at all.

MDHMA is still poking at my curiosity.. If there was only some way to get it rather than making it myself :\

lol I dont rave at all, its not just the big ones. When there are like 2000-3000 people packed into a small ass club (a really shitty one too, from what I hear), I dont even consider it a rave. Im going off of what EVERYONE who has raved for more than a year around Seattle is saying, there are no good raves around here.

I get how rolling at a show could be awesome, but honestly its not worth the trouble. Rolling at home with a couple of friends has always been more meaningful than taking it in party settings. Personal preference I guess?

Hmm sucks for you, when I roll at home, sure it's nice but it can't beat a good party. I mean, there are big fests for almost all music out there, simply go for the music you like. It's easy really. I can roll in the comfort of my home, OR I could meet tonnes of new people with the same mindset and taste for music, tonnes of good DJ's playing my favourite music over the best sound system there is, amazing light shows, hot chicks and my friends are right beside me... My first few times where at home but now I don't even bother anymore, it honestly doesn't compare at all.
I think it also varies by location though, I don't know much about the scene in USA, but I hear it's not that good..

Haha we have a great psytrance community as well, even if you don't like psytrance, they have everything from acid to heroin lol. They usually carry a catalogue with prices on drugs with them, it's ridiculous lol :P
Raves like that are a bit too much for me though, I don't have enough self control so I always get waaaaaaay too fucked up, like one time I took too much acid, WAY too much and I didn't recognize my friends and was convinced the party was infact a group of shamans performing a ritual to awaken some demonic force... I have quite a rep now lol

^ Another reason I dont go lol...

I would get way too fucked up to be around that many people and security guards, NYE I was ++++ for like 15 mins, Friday I was so high on acid I forgot where I was and melted into colors and shit, and even yesterday, 3 days later, with 2 adulterated mollys and 2 drops of acid I was pretty incoherent for large periods of time, staring into my mind

speaking of muffins and other various cakes,
im baked
