I've missed a few pages of this thread and probably won't go back to read it since it's just the same rhetoric being trotted out here.
Some of you herald these vaccines as heroic safety measures and seem to think others need to take them.... I'd give your head a shake and just consider your own life and needs and stop listening to howler monkeys that say we all need their candy and somehow we not only must eat it but pay for them making it too.
I'm really surprised how few of you are actually capable of thinking for yourselves but are very capable of telling others how they should act.
At some point I'm still hoping a decent vaccine is made I'd like to travel feely again and not have the panicking monkeys make rules driving me in a direction I have zero intent of going.
I have a job waiting for travel restrictions to come off or I can get vaccinated so I've told the company to solicit the government to remove travel restrictions. I can wait, because I can afford the time it takes to make my choice work. A lot of people don't have that choice. Some people need work now or they starve, lose their homes etc. Our laws, specifically the laws regarding freedom of movement, will hamper our economy and people will become more and more disadvantaged. People on the bottom rung of society, like those living in shelters, are the first casualties of these aggressive laws that are removing freedoms.
I don't care if you fear covid, the delta variant or just like watching the media circus since it's not an American election year, these laws are removing freedom of choice from a lot of people. I hear a lot of voices yelling some lie about how if I get vaccinated I'm protecting someone else?... If you feel fear get a vaccine. Other people's fears or lack of them should not be your issue. Instead realize those individuals who have somehow twisted the truth in your mind that healthy immune people need this vaccine regardless of their choice because some other compromised individual might somehow become infected from our choice to not get vaccinated with a trial vaccine.
Instead realize people on the bottom rung are dying. My friend, his name was Tomas without the "h", couldn't get into a shelter because covid restrictions reduced the number of homeless people allowed. It was -30 C. Rules pushed him to find a place with heat so he broke into somewhere. They found his body beaten to death the next morning.
We used the rule of no close contact to kill my friend. Not directly, but certainly he would be alive if he had been allowed in. I'm sure someone feels good because they kept 1/2 The homeless people safe by refusing the other half entry.
I've lost internet 5 times writing this and it may be triple posted sorry. My real situation is I'm 10 hours left here before we scuttle this camp and I get moved to a safer firecamp. Winds have pushed the fire into an out of control state and over 100 of the firefighters timed out so there's not enough to hold the line.
