The Change in Scene

Hey, I used to party in the mid/late 90s. Now i've been out a couple of times recently and it's completely different. I was wondering has it changed the demand in E? I know it's nothing like how it used to be, but like on the NE of the US, are people still rolling? Is there still a supply meeting the demand?
 
Supply meeting demand? No way. Just check out ecstacydata.org and pillreports.com to get an idea of how much fake shit is being passed around. There is still real MDMA around but it's much harder to come by than it was 10-15 years ago. 15 years ago I would have no problem finding something good at a rave, almost never had to worry about getting burned, but now it's really a shot in the dark.

imo 90% of the pills going around the US are bunk/evil nowadays.

I think there's truth to this. I also think this combined with a new more . . . crass (maybe? Not sure this is really the word I'm looking for) generation entering the scene has lead to a change in the atmosphere. Both of these things combined have lead to a shift in the feel of music and all combined together feels less PLUR and more AMP/HYPE.

This is just one older former raver (still MDMA lover) 's thoughts of course but I certainly see a change. It used to be that trance was big, with naturally some house and breaks with electro mixed in but at the raves seemed to be dominated by trance and hard trance. You would find the majority of people WANTED clean product. Back during this period there seemed to be more clean as well. Much less chance of getting bunk shit although it did happen and PLUR ruled the scene.
No days it seems that dubstep has taken over the scene and I'm always SHOCKED at how many kids don't know what pure MDMA actually is and believe it or not they seem to PREFER the bunk shit. They seem to WANT that more amped/raw/hyped feeling with less of the euphoric love-tastic. This always blows me away. I've literally seen WAY TOO MANY instances where quality product is considered sub-par because it's not the adulterated nasty shit they're used to and actually want. Very sad. I tend to think this plus a harder more edgy trend in the music plus the new generation just being more. . .crass (again not sure if this is the best word here) have eroded the PLUR in the scene I once loved and was such a big part of.

I guess it's ok though since I'm older now and am not really a part of that scene anymore.
 
There is definitely not enough supply to meet demand, and as well the quality of E and its effect on the amount of PLUR is drastically close. If we could still get 120 mg + pills in the USA nobody would take that crap because it would overwhelm their senses. Problem is not only is there mostly crap drugs now, even if you find something good its likely you will have to spend a considerable amount of money in order to feel the effects you want. (3, 40 mg rolls? doesn't matter what part of the country you live in its gonna cost you). So people naturally take the stuff that effects them the strongest. Now obviously obtaining precursors is way harder now which is why things are lame. Too bad Canada loves their speed so much...

I gotta agree with Folley...i've been seeing this for at least 2 years now since the onslaught of pipes and it's just depressing as hell. The music is suffereing, the scene is suffering and of course the people. There's a whole generation of people that can't distinguish between mdma and today's adulterants because they haven't been exposed to mdma enough times to understand how it feels. This has created a market for junk and given mdma a bad name...well, worse than it already had. Unless we have another golden era, this is the new reality and people who know and love mdma will be cast as "mad picky about their pills" as I have.
 
over here (southeast england) everyone does MDMA crystals, i've not been offered pills in a while. and when i go to raves a lot of people (including me) are loved up on MDMA.

"i don't get why you never buy anything, nobody else complains about my stuff, they all get fucked up, are you telling me you aren't getting fucked up off of them?"'

I told him
"i don't want to just get fucked up, i want to roll, i only want MDMA, not the other shit"

He responded
"look, i don't have the nutrition facts on this shit, you're the only person that complains"

That's the fucking problem.

Are there people with good connections? Sure. I doubt that is the majority though. They are lucky and should enjoy it while it lasts.

that sounds shit :( round here it's not too bad, occasionally someone will be pedalling some shit that definitely isn't MD, but most of the time it's pretty legit.

they should legalise it god dammit
 
I spent around a year searching for good stuff, it seemed that everyone was offering "synthetic" or some other bunk product. But I guess the only think I can say is that if you really want it, you will eventually find it...you just gotta filter all the garbage.

truth. also to reiterate what georgewc2001 said, a lot of kids don't know the difference. they think just because they get fucked up they are rolling. i can't tell you how many kids i've heard at college saying, "i got such good rolls/molly last night. i ate it at 9 at night and didn't go to sleep until 8 in the morning!" thats called meth, move to missouri. its also dealers selling shitty stuff too...chicken or the egg?
 
Ya ny/nj/ct tri-state area has sucked since the end of summer 2010.

We had a good run with the stars (pink, blue, then purple starfish) which soon turned to pipes. Also had a good run with blue g-ladies after this which took the same route.

Had moonrocks once since then, but nothing good within the last 8 months. I have gotten fake shit multiple times and you might say why didn't you test. Well my kit ran out and I was getting out of the scene.

Just reordered the full kit off dancesafe. I doubt I'll be able to find anything good with it tho.

Such a shame it is.
 
^^^ When I was in NY July 2010, my mates and I got lucky with both the blue starfish and blue g ladies. At least you have the kit now and if anything does come your way you're able to stock up.
 
the music has also gone mainstream so it definitely has changed the scene even in the last 5 years.
 
ya i cant tell you how many times i got shit that i didnt even roll off of and all the guy says is "thats crazy man i was with this chick last night and she got fucked up on that stuff" well that chick is a fucking retard or you are a fucking liar. now i just buy one pill and test it with my kit. if it tests good i buy as much as i can
