The Bikie Wars

I think that you will find that this list of 1%er's are nationwide. Only a few of those clubs you mentioned have chapters in Sydney.

I realize this. I misread cl_sullivan post, thought he asked clubs in general not just Sydney. My bad.

On another note was just watching the news and there was a report on one of the Hells Angels' being beaten to death by about a dozen Comancheros' at Sydney airport this afternoon. :\

^^^ Wow that's a bit crazy have you got a link to this info?

I would like to read up the details on this beating of the HA's... It's a little hard for me to believe something like this would go on at Sydney's Airport that's all.

Yeah about 10 or so comacheros attacked a hells angel who was inside the airport ..

they kicked the shit out of him using te metal barriers used at the airport to cave the blokes head in and thats why he died at hospital ..

Expect a good old shoot out like milperra , coming soon to a town near you !

Don't have a link as yet, only saw it on the news as i was typing the reply (heh timing) but it looked pretty brutal. One dead four in custody.

I'm sure there will be a story on the net shortly so i'll post a link if kingpin007 doesn't beat me to it. ;)

News 22.03.09 Bikie brawl at Sydney Airport

[EDIT: Threads merged, sorry if a few posts are out of order but please post related news to this thread. hoptis]

A man has died after being bashed in broad daylight at Sydney airport, in what is believed to be a gang-related attack.

Police say the man was struck down with a portable bollard during a fight between 20 men at one of the airport's check-in gates.

The man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick but could not be saved.

So far four men have been arrested in relation to the fatal bashing.

A witness identified only as David told Nine News the group of men who set upon the man appeared to be bikies.

"They looked like bikies. They didn't have their colours on but it was just the way they looked, the tattoos," he said.

The attack appeared to happen out of the blue in broad daylight, David said.

"All of a sudden a whole group of guys came through the crowd and picked up poles and just started smacking this guy in the head," he said.

"He got his head cut open with one of the poles. There was a lot of blood.

Police have confirmed they investigating the possible involvement of a motorcycle gang in the killing.

It is not clear whether the brawl is linked to a drive-by shooting in Auburn overnight which police have also said may be bikie-related.

A crime scene has been established and a number of check-in gates at the airport have been affected.

Travellers have been advised to allow time for delays when checking in.

OK I just saw it on the News before, sorry if I doubted you Smoifer.

That's full on what happened, I don't know how something like that can happen at such a heavily security guarded public place. I suppose it would of happened pretty quickly and I guess no security guard/police officer is going to take on a gang of bikies by themselves without waiting for back up...

This is going to spark an all out war I wouldn't want to be living in heavily occupied bikie territory at the moment, it just seems to be getting worse and worse as the months go on...

How many large bikie attacks has there been so far this year? I can recall 4 off the top of my head but I'm sure there are a couple more then that.

It's moments like these that I'm glad I'm not hanging around any bikies anymore!

I can't say because I wasn't personally there but isn't there a great deal of security at the airport especially these days? This is the type of crime police should be focusing on rather than drug possession for example, crime like this seems to be happening everyday in Sydney, any other people been living in Sydney a long time think theres more violence now than in previous years or is this just how it looks from the medias perspective?

There is going to be massive delay and a lot of unhappy travelers.

I bet some of the foreign tourists will go home with stories about this and will deter some from traveling back here with fears that it may happen to them seeing as they are not aware of what some of the bikies out this way are like.

It's not looking good for Sydney at the moment that's for sure, two major bikie attacks in the past week, that's got to be some kind of record hahahaha.

Man dead after brawl at Sydney Airport
March 22, 2009 - 8:14PM

Sydney's bikie warfare has exploded with a violent brawl between two gangs at Sydney Airport's domestic Qantas terminal resulting in one man being bludgeoned to death in front of horrified passengers.

The attack happened the same day a drive-by shooting in Sydney's west sent two men to hospital with police investigating if warfare between outlaw motorcycle gangs was to blame.

Minutes after a group of men disembarked from a flight that landed about 1.30pm (AEDT) on Sunday, another group confronted them in the arrivals section of the domestic terminal.

Witnesses told police an altercation ensued and lasted long enough to make its way upstairs to the departures area.

One of the men picked up a portable bollard and repeatedly struck a 29-year-old man over the head, leaving him clinging to life just inside the doors of the terminal.

Ambulance officers were called to the scene and treated the man before rushing him to Prince of Wales Hospital, where he later died.

Naomi Constantine was waiting to go through security to board a flight to Melbourne when she witnessed the attack.

"They came running through picking up the big metal barrier poles and swinging them, swinging them like swords at each other," Ms Constantine told ABC Television.

"I saw one of the men lying on the ground and another man came up with a pole and just started smashing it into his head."

Detective Inspector Peter Williams said the brawl involved 15 men from rival bikie gangs and was witnessed by up to 50 horrified passengers.

"It would appear a group of males have exited a plane and they were met by another group of males who we believe may be other motorcycle gang members," Det Insp Williams told reporters at the airport.

"A fight ensued, the fight moved through various parts of the terminal to the ultimate location where the man was deceased."

Four men were arrested over the incident, while the others fled the airport - some in taxis, witnesses reported.

The attack raised questions about the level of security at the Qantas terminal and the reaction time of security officers.

A Sydney Airport Corporation spokesman said: "That terminal is operated and managed by Qantas."

A Qantas spokeswoman would not confirm whether the fight began in the departure lounge or outside the security screening area.

She was also unable to confirm whether security guards were working within the terminal at the time.

"I'm not at liberty to comment on that," the spokeswoman told AAP.

An unnamed passenger told the Nine Network that response from airport security "took a long time to get there".

Traffic into the airport was reduced to a crawl for hours at the domestic terminals after roads leading to the T3 departures were cordoned off as a crime scene.

The attack followed an incident about 1am (AEDT) on Sunday at Auburn, in Sydney's west, where seven houses in three streets were sprayed with gunfire.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 17-year-old male was treated for lacerations and then arrested but later released.

Police seized two vehicles for forensic examination and said the houses were most likely caught in crossfire and not deliberately targeted.

The NSW opposition wants the government to crack down on bikie violence, and introduce tough legislation similar to new South Australian laws.

The laws are designed to dismantle criminal bikie gangs by declaring membership or association with outlawed clubs, illegal. The act also includes new charges, which carry up to 10 years jail, for bikie club members and their associates who engage in group violence.

"This horrific episode must finally force (Premier) Nathan Rees to stop standing by and doing nothing as criminal bikie gang members murder each other in broad daylight in public and put the wider community at risk," Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell told AAP.

NSW Police Minister Tony Kelly said the government would consider the South Australia legislation.

"I will be meeting with the police commissioner and the attorney-general looking at additional laws that we can bring into place to round these people up," Mr Kelly told reporters in Sydney.

Haha nah no worries mushi if i hadn't seen it on the news i might've been a bit skeptical myself given airport security and using bollards etc. I think there may have been a couple more than 4 (none specific come to mind) and i even recall reading of a bikkie involved shooting this morning.

I think thus far it seems to have stayed mostly in Sydney as a few of my workmates associate with the Rebel's & some of the regulars at my local pub are Hells Angels as are some of the blokes at my mechanics (all really nice blokes actually) and i haven't heard of anything aside from the usual around here, Melb, but that said i still won't be parking my car out front a club house any time soon!

I was going to add a thread on this but its not really related to drugs...

It's just one guy getting shit kicked out of him by rival gang members ...

Hmmmm this is true, but in a way bikies don't do this for no reason it's usually a retaliation or over drug territory... They don't seem to like to use the subtle approach way to sort out issues do they :\. I guess they are all just older big bullies in the long run anyways....

Ah much better article kingpin :)

"An unnamed passenger told the Nine Network that response from airport security "took a long time to get there"."

Can't say i'd be in any hurry to get there if i were a security guard!

Sounds a tad dodgy that they were waiting for them in the terminal though and i find it hard to believe that it was a coincidence.

Did they catch any suspects from this stunt do you think? If they didn't I think they will be doing a runner for a little while or at least staying underground until this all blows over..

If they think they can actually get away with this then they have got to be stupid, they must of had there faces recorded so many times from so many different angles... Anybody know if they wore balaclavas or anything? They didn't seem to plan this stunt very well lol... They must of just gotten word of a rival member they had a grudge against going on a trip and gotten a crew together and said alright lets go bash this fella...

Yeah Sydney is pretty red hot at the moment I must say, must be all concentrated in the chapters down their as long as it doesn't spread as a nation wide outbreak then I'll be thankful...

Most of the bikies I have met in the past always seem to be pretty top blokes as well but they have never been intoxicated when I talk with them so it could be a different story if they have consumed something lol. I would never cross them though because I know what they are capable of and some of the stories they tell you just give you shivers up your back lol.

They used taxis to get away hahahaha that's funny as...

The cameras will be able to see the number plates on the taxis most likely which they will then find those taxis and watch the footage from the cameras on the inside of the taxis which will in end give an even better picture of there faces and where they got dropped off where they will try and find more wittnesses...

They couldn't of done a worse job of planning this I don't think... I'm trying to think now what they could of done worse but I can't think if anything at the moment lol.

Witnesses told police an altercation ensued and lasted long enough to make its way upstairs to the departures area.

i guess you could say it escalated pretty quickly lol
