Yeayeaaah!
These are some of the more powerful pictures that you will ever see depicting the direct effects, soldiers and enemy combatants in the war on drugs.

2009 UN World Drug report

The 2009 United Nations World Drug report, released earlier this year, notes that 2009 marks "the end of the first century of drug control (it all started in Shanghai in 1909)", and that the illicit drug market worldwide has now become a $320 billion-per-year industry. As drug-related violence in Mexico appears to continue unabated, and crackdowns in Afghanistan are being made against its massive opium crops, new efforts are also being made worldwide in methods of enforcement and treatment of recovering addicts. Collected here are a handful of recent images from the rough world of illegal drugs across the globe. (37 photos total)

Thanks for posting.

I'm not shocked at all to see the conditions that some of those addicts live in, as plenty of people, even non-addicts, live in much worse. Basically, I'm desensitized to 3rd world conditions.

But, seeing the violence in Mexico really is disturbing -the severed head on the car hood, the naked guy hanging from an overpass, etc. And that's coming from someone who's also desensitized to gore.

And to think that it could be avoided by legalizing. Fuck. Makes volunteering here even more worthwhile.

I love that website.

Really moving pictures, but some of the stupidest fucking comments I have ever seen.

"After seeing these pictures I am left speechless. Starts with a hit of marijuana. Don't believe me? Visit a Narcotics Anonymous meeting sometime. I we are trying to legalize marijuana for medical reasons. Are you kidding?" *sigh*

I hear ya on the comments, it seems that way with probably 9 out of 10 websites that allow them. Reading them really makes you lose faith in the human race. That's why I enjoy bluelight, places like this are few and far between.

I'm the same way, I've seen some crazy shit on various gore-tube websites, and still seeing those still photos makes me cringe. Another moving one was the guy with the sheet over him, left sitting on his porch with his brains splattered behind him on the front of the house.

The war is not against drugs. You can't win a war against an inanimate object. It's against drug abusers who commit crimes against others to pay for their habits. If drugs were legalized, there would be far less crime and recreational drug users could would have a chance at living productive lives. Outlawing alcohol didn't work, and outlawing drugs will not work either. Let's provide medical help for addicts who want to quit and legal means for them to obtain their drugs is they choose to live with their addictions.
