Sounds!? 8( I dunno, but if no-one has a better way you could open it up and cut the wires to the buzzer or whatever. Or cover the little hole the sound comes out of with blu-tak or something (plasticine type stuff) will significantly reduce the volume, if it's that type of buzzer. Second option has the advantage of not voiding the warranty, as long as you remove it again before sending it back and don't damage any of the screws.

What is the best way to transfer rc's from the Gemini 20 scale into a capsule? I have small measuring spoons but even they have a hard time picking up all the rc's. Sometimes with stickier rc's I have to scrape them off the scale and it can be hard to catch it all in a capsule. Any help on better spoons or technique with this scale would be greatly appreciated.

I like to take a business card and fold it in half the long way and crease it to make it "V" shaped... dump the powder from the measuring tray on your gemini-20 (I have the same scale)into the vee of the card and gently pour it into the capsule held against the end of the vee... I hold the card from underneath and kinda tap on the side with one finger to make it pour nice and smoothly... and I kinda hold the capsule with myfingers at the edge up against the vee of the card to kinda funnel the trail of powder... practice with some baking soda or something... after a couple practice tries its super simple and I find it to work great...

Like this only one hand holding the capsule and one running the card... I had to use one hand to run the camera but you get the idea lol =D

Weigh your powder on the scale's removable plate piece
Uncap your capsule
Put Gemini 20 plate in your left hand using thumb, middle and ring finger (right if you are a lefty) and the bigger side of capsule with right hand
Turn disk to approx 45 degree angle facing the capsule and scoop as well as you can and tap the side of the plate your index/pointer finger to allow the remaining RCs to group together again allowing for easier collection.

I had trouble capping RCs before I figured this out, which didn't take a very long time. I bet you would have been able to figure this 'technique' out or even find a way that works for you in no time. If capsule size isn't important to you get the biggest you can find or are comfortable swallowing. Size 00 is a lot easier to fill than size 3, that's for sure.

Hope this helps. It takes a bit of practice and it is important to hold all sides of the plate within your fingers so it doesn't spastically jerk out of your fingers and you lose 50mg of 2C-D (AAARRRGG!!)

Is this the same one???? http://www.ebay.com/itm/320738431332

Or did I just get ripped off...

No not the same link and the scale on that link isn't the same scale it doesn't look to me like... that one has white buttons... I just went to amazon and searched either "milligram scale" and the one in the pic was one of the options... I think it was 25 bucks and 5 bucks shipping

Came in a nice little magnetic latch box with tweezers, the weighing tray and calibration weights... nothing too special but for the price is I think its an excellent value...

Thank you for letting me know. I looked at the pics more closely and I can see that it's different. Especially the back. It comes with exactly the same stuff. Is it a knock off? Weird. I'll be testing it out when it arrives (I think Monday) and post the results... I just really hope the accuracy is the same since the price is basically exactly the same.

Chemically insane, you can do with that with train tickets too :)

Mine look like those silver ones but like a Black version of them.
I wouldnt trust them to weigh less than 20mg, so i weight 40mg then put that in half . (for mxe)

Just in case anyone is wondering, this scale is legit and I highly recommend to anyone on a budget.

From ebay or other online stores.

Thanks for stating the obvious. I've been looking on ebay but I am failing to find any of the more highly-rated, lower-priced scales mentioned in this thread.

I was essentially asking WHAT other online stores.

I think it's a case of waiting for a bargain on ebay really, scales are expensive pieces of kit when they're done right.
I'd reccomend getting some very cheap ones and keeping a good eye out for some second hand or liquidated stock ones on ebay.

I've heard the HA-20s can be had for less than £20 on ebay, and if I'm totally honest, I'd expect all sub £50 scales to be more or less the same on the inside.

Yes, they are quite good.

i can safely say i can measure 40mg accurately (the lowest amount id say you could Accurately weigh)

Then say you required 20mg dose, for say.
2cb, then you can split that 40mg in half yourself on a plate couldnt you?

Perfect, exactly the kinda size doses i'm working with as all. thanks

Has anyone tried the LW Measurement's "Tree" brand scales? Claims milligram accuracy and it even has a full size draft shield...all for just over $200? Am I dreaming? Here's a few link examples...

I'm wary of purchasing those bargain scales on auctions sites. Many are knock offs from China and even the ones shipping from the US are often being resold (still from China). There's nothing wrong with being built in China, except when it's a knock-off...

I purchased what I thought was an American Weigh - AWS DIA-20 on the auction site. Granted, that particular scale is known for being testy - but the one I received was almost certainly a fake... Used it a few times about a year ago without a problem and then properly stored it in a drawer. The other day I went to use it again, put fresh batteries in it, but every time I turn it on it displays: "Unst" in LED letters. Then the display begins constantly drifting either up or down. Tried a few procedures to make it work again but I don't trust it enough for RC's anymore. To further the case that it's a fake: the box/sleeve that it came in is printed in that poor resolution color dot matrix (anyone that's ever received a replica/forged product probably know what I mean) also the manual was not folded properly and is missing any form of branding that appears on the AWS website's PDF copy.

Just ordered a Gemini-20 on Amazon (ships and sold by). If it's unreliable or defective in any way I'll just return it...

Damn...just noticed a post by DiZzyBonne in the GemPro scale subthread... an Ohaus YJ103 milligram scale for $124

Anyone have that scale? That brand is badass and the price is amazing...

have an american weigh gemini 20. Read in one of these threads to put a dime between the little tray that comes with it and the weigh plate on the scale. Tried it today and it worked great. Now the tray weighs out to 2.7 consistently instead of fluctuating between 2.694-2.704. Also, not taring the tray weight before adding substance helps a lot reading smaller amounts.

for less than $30 I'm happy. A little apprehensive about using for any 2c's, but I'm confident enough. Better than eyeballing, that's for sure!
