The Big & Dandy Salvia Thread - Second iteration

Im reading that more and more about being in the dark , at first I found it nice in the daylight with nature around Ive always been big on visuals of my suroundings, but I think Im gunna experiement more in the dark...does everyone else feel the same bout being in the dark over daylight...?
 
Salvia Experience......

Tried it in the dark with head phones... didnt have a break thru though............started with 10x felt small effects , more disapointing than anything. Waited 30 min and tried a bigger dose this time it took me a little farther. Slipped out of reality shortly while listening to a track from Cirque du soleil , Alegria. The female voice seemed to keep me calm like she was singing directly to me. The next thing I remember is a flash of lighting startled me, like a light was turned on from someone in the house. After returning to reality i stared at the ceiling. I can tell somethin was spinning looked like a white/blue cloud. The cloud seemed to chase along the edges of my ceiling like it was barrier I never crossed. Think Ill stop here for tonight......but leaves me wandering whats on the other side..!8o

That's ridiculous, visions can be easily achieved in the light as well, depending on a person I guess. You shouldn't preach your personal experience like it's some sort of an absolute truth that applies for everybody. You're doing the same in all threads related to San Pedro as well, please stop. Realize that people react differently when it comes to these things, and might have their own preferences.
 
I'm not challenging the way you use this plant, or how it's been used historically. I'm just saying that visionary experience can be achieved with it when used in daylight settings as well, that's all.
 
Im going to keep practicing with it in the dark so far just having sorta cloud visuals of blue and white and notice a small eye a few times...I have tried it in the day it kinda puts things in layers. Makes things a little more intense. So you suggest no music in the quite Ill have to try that next
 
Yeah, I only had one salvia experience with music and the sensory input was way too much. I do like a little light, light one candle in the dark and it's perfect.

I actually like some VERY soft, mellow music in the background. It gets incorporated into the trip very nicely. One time the music I heard became a physical beam of energy spearing down from the sky, merging into the world and somehow feeding it. Another time the music became a river, flowing into a pond....

Anyways....
 
salvia regular Dry leaves

im planning on buying 1 oz of dry salvia leaves off line and i was reading erowid and came accross this effect
-insight into personal issues.... enyone know what that means?
can can you control yourself on salvia sorta like how people control themselfs on acid?

Insights into personal issue are where you realize something about yourself you didn't see before. Kinda hard to explain until you've felt it for yourself. :)

Salvia is one of the most powerful and bizarre psychedelics out there.

I'd advise you do more reading on the subject. Here's our Big & Dandy Salvia Divinorum thread. Make sure to read some experience report in the Erowid link in the first post of that thread.
 
you cannot control yourself on salvia, except on really low doses, where it reminds me of nitrous with more body load. but no, you can not control yourself on salvia. and yea, read some experience reports first.
 
Salvia is something I will never recommend anyone trying. The overall intensity and feeling isn't something that I would call pleasurable. Sure it's a relatively cheap 'legal' high, but the overall experience isn't all that great.

Scroll through the Mega Thread and through Erowid as well. Read up on how people felt about it. The overall consensus is "fuck salvia"
 
Salvia Divinorum Dosage

Hi all,

I've looked all over the web and found various conflicting "recommended dosages" or boundaries between what is light, common or strong/heavy, with Salvia Divinorum.

What would you suggest the kind of dosage for a first person (and perhaps for his subsequent uses) should be? (For Salvia Divinorum 5x, for instance)

From what I have found, general consensus seems to be that the amounts are very small, and that relatively small differences in amount (e.g. another .1g) can substantially alter the experience

Is it risky to not measure it out with scales? I'd certainly like to avoid purchasing scales.. I have no idea how much one of my "pinch"es would be in (fractions of) grams..

No real answer to your question as it varies so much between individuals, Joe. Personally I felt nothing from Salvia until I used a 40X extract whereas others will be blown away by the same weight of 5X. One of those things you find out through experimentation really. I've never used scales for Salvia.

Thanks - in that case, would it be irresponsible for me to fill a bowl with salvia and cash it? I'm really not sure how to go about taking it safely.
 
Salvia is a funny one. Physically you should be absolutely fine however high the dose, the potential for problems lies more with the "Puppet Syndrome" (moving about whilst under the influence and unaware of your actions) and just the plain shock of an overwhelming experience. And often a pretty terrifying experience at that. Ideally smoke it with somebody around who can make sure you don't go a-wandering and hurt yourself.

With 5X you should probably be fine unless you're unusually sensitive though. The difference between an "interesting" experience and a train-wreck should be pretty high as it's less concentrated - maybe start with a small pinch and titrate upwards as you see fit. There's no real tolerance and it's a short experience so you can dose repeatedly until you get to where you want to be. Personally, if I underdose the Puppet thing takes over and I compulsively redose until I lose track of everything and get lost in Salvialand. Kinda spooky the way it does that really.
 
I've tried 20x standard extract about 15 times, the smoke is pretty harsh to hold in which sucks. You really need to hold in a big rip too for as long as you can. I know when it hits me when I try standing up and things are zig zag wavy, best to stay sitting down.

My favorite setting is low light, no sound, bed/couch laying back, and stare straight at something. Low light is amazing, with open eyes it makes it feel like you're in a different world with the sun stuck rising.

I tried it a few times with music, made me feel like I entered into the song but still prefer no sound. I've never had a scary trip, fascinating but not scary. %)

I've often said Salvia is where a science fiction meets a drug. No wonder it scares a lot of people. Most seem to come to that same place that is inhabited. That in itself can frighten someone. I've learned through the years though how to act and I always seem invited and have a happy/fruitful visit. Thne the afterglow the next day has me feeling wonderfully practical.

ive revently tried salvia for the first time. im relatively experienced with psychedelics and wanted to try something new. i snapped out of my trip covered in drool and all of my friends laughing there asses off. im sure alot of people have similar stories but my trip has gotten me to wonder, what in the salvia makes you trip out so hard? what reactions happen in your body in order to induce such an out of control intense trip? many people ive asked dont really have an answer for me because they dont know so i figured id come to bluelight.
 
^ What causes you to trip so insanely hard on Salvia is Salvinorin A - the most potent naturally-occuring psychedelic known to man, I believe. How and why it got to be so insanely potent - how it works on the brain - is another matter entirely and I don't think anybody knows the answer to that really yet. As far as psyches go, Salvia has had relatively little research done on it that I'm aware of. Im pretty sure it's very different to most other psyches (phens and trypts) in it's method of action though.
