The Big & Dandy 'Nausea and Psychedelics' Thread

I always find that right after the vomit the trip moves like wayyyyy up the scale

+1
on my first 2cb trip I puked rainbow vomit and then found myself sinking into the blissful all encompassing hole that was my carpeted living room floor 8o Definitely increased in intensity the second I started puking.

I also ALWAYS get psychedelic nausea... it sucks 8) but I find that deep breathing, pot and water always help me.

Shit yeah. After that puke everything started swirling/spiralling out of control. Had some good DnB on the headphones as well, was almost orgamisc.

Yeah, I agree... throwing up on psychedelics is a good way to have a powerful trip. I think all of my most powerful trips I puked during, except the first. Nausea sucks but throwing up is actually pleasant for me, because it gets rid of the nausea. Some people really seem to have an aversion to it though.

^ Why do you think purging bumps the trip into higher gear?

It's probably psychological combined with the fact that nausea is associated with the "coming-up" portion of the high anyway, and the fact that it's hard to appreciate the effects when you're extremely nauseous.

I use peppermint.

I agree... it's also good for minor opiate nausea too.

I don't like throwing up, no matter what the circumstances. The very few times that I have had the misfortune of throwing up while tripping, it has not been pleasant at all. And I know that many people find it kicks their trip up a notch, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me. It always seems to tone-down my trip to very minimal effects, and that seems to make sense that it would. But everyone's different I guess

I never get sick from anything but piperazine based psychedelic...and thats cause they cause it regardless of being trippy ones or just stimulant ones...

but I find just good old diphenhydramine works great for opioid induced sickness...tho its sedating properties might mild the trip...?

nothing cures nausea for me, psychedelic induced or not
sipping on coke, pot, deep breathing, but it fucking ruins trips for me. ruins everyhing basically.

I've predominantly had the same experience, and this is why none of my ayahuasca attempts ever worked (though they did for people I was with).

I am a firm believer in natural remedies to nausea: mint, chamomile, ginger, and of course marijuana. Putting ginger in mushroom tea is always a good bet ;)

for natural...this might sound weird...but I've found a bit of hot peppers settle my stomach somewhat I feel sick...not a full on mexican meal! but just a little bit of something spicy helps me. (I know it seems backwards!)

25mg DPH?

depends on how bad it is...50mg usually for me.

Yeah I bet that'd work better than ginger for most people (I wonder if I'm sensitive to it?), but diphenhydramine makes me very sleepy so I kind of don't want to combine it with anything unless I really have to. I know its effect on a powerful research chemical would probably be small, but I like to know I experienced the effects of a pure compound and not a combination, even a trivial one like low-dose benadryl or pot or nicotine.

ginger somehow makes me more nauseous..

ondansetron truly deserves to be called the "cure" of psychedelic nausea, though.

I find a big dose (like 100mg) of diphen can actaully really dampen a mild trip... It probably wont do much with LSD or strong research chems, but it could very well dampen a milder mushroom trip and I know it dampens a TFMPP trip a alot.

I know Chlorpromazine and Haloperidol are VERY effective antiemitics...but being antipsychotics...I can see them killing all but the most powerful trips. :P

i've always found that all my nauseous experiences have only come from when you have to ingest plant matter in the gram range.
even beyond the "psychedelic" catagory, whether it be foliage, root, seeds, cacti, fungi;
whenever i stuff my stomach full of something that didn't taste good in the first place - my stomach will always force it back up.
i haven't found an experience yet when i've swallowed a 0 cap with 1~100mg of white powder inside and gotten really nauseous.

there's a thread somewhere on PD about "the nature of the psychedelic bodyload", it's a very interesting discussion, & i would guess that nausea is included in "body load"... now someone just has to dig it up! ;]
