love this thread. its like everytime i think ive heard everything, i can come back here and be proven wrong

Korpiklaani is a good band to check out. Neun Welten is nice especially for the out-doors. neofolk/folk metal is awesome on any dose.. to me that is..

I like to listen to oldies, jazz, some hip-hop, some techno, really enjoy Jimi Hendrix.

-djstrip

Lusine - A Certain Distance ... absolutely sensational album

But when I'm tripping I always end up listening to Radiohead's "Kid A" at some point, have a really strong connection with this album, it's like a warm comforting embrace and can always pull me out of any mood I'm in and just be relaxed and aware.

Also any radiohead... you can't really beat it.

Waaay too many tunes I could list.

My top 3 favs on my playlist would be -

Emotion - Daft Punk
Elation Station - Infected Mushroom

Aye, t'was what I was saying. Glad someone agrees! But I especially love 'I don't really mind' and 'Flow' off an EP. Awesome, awesome band.

1200 micrograms- magic mushrooms

led zepplin greatest hits sent me into a different world last time.

pink floyd's dark side of the moon and the wall put me into awe.

Almost any music one enjoys is enjoyable tripping, but one group that i always recommend:
Shpongle

Am i the only one who digs Mushroom Jazz (Mark Farina)?

Seriously, that is the most amazing thing you can hear when you're tripping!! I started listening to Mushroom Jazz years before i had my first trip so it has nothing to do with its name.

Mark Farina & Derrick Carter are two of the best chicago house djs you could ever hope to see.

and the mushroom jazz series is excellent.

Deadbeats - Made in the shade is a timeless classic. :)

if you like them check out Schmoov! very subtle psychedelic deep acid house

one of the best things i ever listened to on acid though was the album "the orb live 93" Orb - Star 6 & 7 8 9 (Live 1993) fucking incredible

Last edited:
- Anything Pink Floyd made before 1977...high point, literally: Live At Pompeii's versions of "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" and "A Saucerful of Secrets"
- Anything Frank Zappa/The Mothers of Invention made...EVER.
- Anything Black Sabbath made before 1973. (Read: Paranoid, Master of Reality and Vol. 4)
- insert your favorite psychedelic/space rock/proto-punk/neo-psychedelic/garage rock/stoner rock/heavy metal band here, my favorites include

The Doors (when I'm peaking)
The Stooges
Greatful Dead
The White Stripes
Led Zeppelin, any and all.
The Beatles, any and all.
Queens of the Stone Age (first three albums, Rated R being the benchmark, up there with Dark Side of The Moon and Sgt. Pepper's as albums you should be required to trip to)
Kyuss
Did I mention...THE STOOGES

if you're speaking electronic music:

-Datura: mainly "Yerba Del Diablo", "Eternity" and "The 7th Hallunication"
-Cosmic Gate: any and all
-1200 Micrograms
-Infected Mushroom
-Global Communication
-The Crystal Method
-Brian Eno (yeah, it is technically electronic)
-Hardstyle, any and all
-Air
-German Hard Trance (DJ Dean, Tunnel Trance Force, Angel Beats, Ziggy X and the like)
-dubstep (I can only handle but so much of it)
-Tiësto's older stuff, my absolute favorites being "Lethal Industry" and "Adagio For Strings"

^ Any and all Beatles? Really?
I couldn't stand stuff like "She loves you" or "I wanna hold your hand" when on psychedelics (or, really, any time). Later stuff, like the White Album, I love and enjoy. Still, I feel like I have heard it too many times to really want to listen to while on psychedelics.
For some reason, I don't feel that way about Jimi Hendrix, though. His music never gets old for me. Actually, maybe I should qualify that and say "except for the first album", which does get old.

Don't flame me for this: To my utter amazement I found out recently that Miles Davis and 2C-E goe very very well together (at least it works for me), as does any kind of vibraphone music (milt jacks, lionel hampton, gary burton, that kind of thing).

Has anybody already mentioned jefferson airplane among the old sixties stuff? Has some merrit on any kind of psychedelic imho.

I def. agree :)

However, this one is just magic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Z2ZLiwkZO0 I remember i cried of having heard the most beautiful sound in my life last time i tripped (from 1.15 in the track).

This one is almost as good: http://www.amazon.com/Jamal-141/dp/B001IDF0BC

I just LOVE a mellow melodic beat with a beautiful/catchy voice in the backround!

Soulful/jazzy DNB is not bad either, can be abit hard if you're not in the right mood:
