The Big & Dandy Methoxetamine Thread - Hit #12 - Oh look, it's MXE o'clock

Are you alluding to methoxetamine's alleged mu-opioid receptor affinity? Because that is very much disputed.

Anyone got any success stories of being able to abstain from regular mxe use? I'm attempting to get some and just use it monthly, as I used to do with dxm. Is this at all plausible? I'm not addicted to anything else, I've quit cigarettes, and I have regular access to (free) opiates but don't use them more than once a month, if that provides context.

not really. unless you have enormous self control. if getting addicted is a big concern then i'd steer clear.
also, i hate opiates and had problems with dxm and mxe. dissociatives are something else entirely

Really the only way to abstain is to not have any. It's incredibly difficult to reason yourself out of NOT taking any more. You just tell yourself its not a bad idea to keep doing it.

I think part of the problem is people usually get large amounts (like 20 doses worth) at a time. Try to get as little as you can, then piss off the vendor so they won't sell to you anymore. :P

I got an eighth of pretty high quality stuff and had it last me a good four months. I never did it more than maybe a couple times a week, and had friends doing it with me every time also. It's not that hard to abstain from

I feel I should add that that the addiction and withdrawal I have experienced on MXE is entirety psychological - I have not experienced any physical withdrawal whatsoever from the hexylamine substances I have been abusing. So in that sense it is is much more akin to ketamine or cocaine withdrawal than opioid/opiate withdrawal. In fact friends of mine have reported much more unpleasant physical symptoms resulting from haulting frequent cannabis use than I have experienced after having been forced to stop using MXE and 3-MeO-PCP. So I do not believe that I was physically addicted to MXE at all, it's an entirely psychological addiction in my experience. And I do know what I'm talking about in this regard - I am a hardcore etizolam addict so I am intimately acquainted with the the difference between psychological and physical addiction (although I do of course recognise that they are interlinked).

I envy your self control. Had I been able to use it in the way you describe I would not have ruined this drug for myself in the way that I did.

Anyone come across a batch at the moment that is very crystally and tastes quite salty? It's not as easy up the nose and takes 2-3 times the dose of all the previous batches I've ever had over the last three years. The stuff I had always had was a very fine powder. This stuff, I put 100mg under my tongue and an hour later my wife didn't even realise I was on anything! Usually 60mg and I'm dancing around the precipice of the hole...

Anyone? Maybe depends on where it's produced?

Cheers

The stuff I have right now consists of nice round crystals and is fucking fire. My guy said he tested it and it was pure; he's trustworthy enough for me to know it's not bs. Like I said earlier in this thread just a 20mg orral dose when I already had a decent bit of tolerance from all the ketamine I have been doing lately gave me very good effects.

Twords the end of next week when I am done with my tolerance break from dissosociatives I'm going to plug mxe for the first time. I plan to use an oral syringe similar to the one zirbeldude posted but long skinny and only 1ml. I think that will be enough water since I will only be dosing 20-30mgs to start with.

With heat, I have gotten 50 - 60 mg of MXE to go into .5 mL of water. so you should be good.

So, with my recent purchase of 5 grams of MXE, I'd like to share a little story/ hear if anyone else has experienced something similar?

about a year and a half ago, I began to experience the onset signs of bipolar disorder(family history). At the same time, I became addicted to MXE, and the symptoms/mood changes PROMPTLY dissipated.

I was addicted to MXE until it became illegal in Florida in December 2012, at which point I quit the drug because of the difficulty in getting it.

About a month after not having mxe, bipolar onset signs of mania/depression started up again, and have reached a height. My psychiatrist wants to prescribe me a mood stabilizer but I won't have it.

Anyways, I'm not sure if MXE HELPS with mania symptoms, or is the cause. I've seen discussion of MXE as a possible cause and cure of bipolar disorder. Is there anywhere I could find more info on the subject?

Thanks guys, looking forward to having my favorite dissociative once more !

I feel as if i have induced mania in myself from abusing mxe. it was positive and temporary. unless im still manic and dont know it lol

Overfrequent dissociative use has been known to cause mania in some individuals. It dissipates after taking some time off.

Why not, pray tell?

What is everyone's opinion on MXE and it having a side effect of high blood pressure? I read a UK study today that looked at two groups of 3 participants on MXE and they presented with tachycardia of 130-150 and had systolic blood pressure between 150-190. These are very high figures. Has anyone tested their own blood pressure while on MXE?

Yeah, I've heard about this. Is there any literature or have any studies looked into this relationship? Also, my mania is not very pronounced, the much more prominent side are the depressive effects.

I was prescribed SSRI's when I was younger and had a terrible experience with them. Just been very wary of pharms, especially things that have a wide effects profile(like many mood stabilizers)

My blood pressure is much higher than normal after doing MXE for several days in a row and then stopping. I was prescribed high blood pressure meds(ace inhihibitors) after going to regularly scheduled doctor's appointments for a different condition. These 2 appointments in succession just happened to be following MXE binges. I have since bought a blood pressure cuff and have tested myself during and after mxe use and my blood pressure is fairly normal until days after cessation for a period of 48-72 hours. My Heartrate while on MXE is usually higher than normal, but was not notably high when tested by my doc at these appointments.

Do you think this is due to a pre-existing condition, or evidence of MXE dependence? Does your doctor know about your MXE use?

Can you describe the amount you used during these binge periods? You saying that your blood pressure is elevated following binges but not during a single use is interesting. I am supposed to be getting some mxe here soon, I will report back with my changes in blood pressure and heart rate. Systolic blood pressures above 150 for an extended period of time is a definite adverse health, so we can't kid ourselves when we talk about the potential side effects of this chemical.

Now that I have a somewhat clear head (ie: i'm not on mxe), i want to clarify my stance on mxe as an addictive substance.

i do agree that certain drugs have more addiction potential than others. i just dont think it is as high as that of opiates, and would liken it more to that of cocaine or amphetamines.

Just an observation: over the past year or so, anytime I wondered if I should try MXE, all I had to do is read the last few posts on the most current thread to find plenty of reasons not to. Nope, don't think I need to get myself hooked on the "philosopher's heroin".

It could be due to poor diet during my mxe binges or my body re-adjusting after long periods of MXE (ab)use. In the past my blood pressure has been within normal ranges. This is also true during MXE abstinence without taking the Ace inhibitors. I have not and would not tell my doctor about my MXE use.

My total usage both times was approximately 3 Grams over 5-7 days.
