It's benign in the way that we haven't heard heavy users of MXE complain of any common, lingering side effect. At least yet. Unless you count the psychological changes that it can apparently lead to, i.e. increased self confidence and motivation.
Also there are pretty much no withdrawals. I get heavier withdrawals from a month of daily cannabis use than from a month of daily MXE use.
Yeah, I don't get withdrawls from MXE except maybe staying in bed an extra hour or two on the 1st day without any. After that it's back to normal.
It seems the psychological changes of increased self-motivation and confidence are a common effect of the drug. If you use it regularly, with reasonably doses (I'm talking low doses that act more as a "life enhancer" than a "life detacher") I feel like, at least for people with relatively healthy minds to begin with, this will be the result.
I would not assume that just because people are enjoying a drug and continue to use it for positive effects on their lives, that they are all suffering from addiction and don't even realize it.
Are there any people in the world addicted to MXE? I'm sure there are, people can get addicted to just about any damn thing, really. But I would say the vast majority of MXE users are very much in control of their use. Be that using once a week or daily, they have made that choice based on how often using it benefits them (and how much they want to spend on it).
Even people who do get addicted to MXE have easily broken the cycle of addiction because MXE has a way of changing your mind to let yourself know that it's not acceptable to be addicted to anything... even MXE.
This is why, even though I really do like using it in 20-40mg insufflated doses throughout the day, I take a couple weeks off and cycle my use. I have actually cycled my use down in the last few months, and am working on better maintaining that "enhanced, proactive" state of mind without the drug.
Somebody in the other thread said I'm being delusional about my use and asked if I ever read John. C. Lilly. Yes, it's called Self Meta-Reprogramming. And that's what I'm doing. And that's what I've been doing since I ever ate my first tab of LSD like 12 years ago. The difference is, now I have a much improved tool for the job.
If John C Lilly could have had MXE instead of Ketamine, I'm pretty sure he never would have gone crazy and would be considered one of the great geniuses of the last century. People wouldn't be linking his legacy with drugs, because most people wouldn't have even been able to tell
