How have u guys noticed the following supplements/smart drugs to affect psychedelics?
I'm the type of person who regularly uses a number of health supplements, vitamins, amino acids, smart drugs, adaptogenic and immuno boosting herbs to better my mental and physical health and I'm also the sort who likes to partake in psychedelics with some frequency. One area that I've not found much information about is what possible interactions psychedelics can have with these natural and synthetic health drugs.
I'm going to list a number of supplements, nootropics (aka smart drugs) and herbs and ask you bluelighters whether you've had experiences using them while tripping. If so, what dosage of the health drug were you using, what psychedelic did you combine it with (and at what dosage), and was the interaction positive or negative (or perhaps you didn't notice an interaction) in your opinion?
The health drugs I'm most wondering about are: Piracetam (or other Racetams), Hydergine, DMAE (or Centrophenoxine), DL-Phenylalanine (or L-Tyrosine), SAM-e, Sulbutiamine, Modafinil (aka Provigil), Vinpocetine, Lecithin, Rhodiola, Phenibut, L-Theanine, Taurine, Niacinamide, Vitamin C, Vitamin B12, CoQ10 (or Idebenone), Calamus (aka Sweet Flag), Ginseng, Eleuthero (aka Siberian Ginseng), Maca, Catuaba, Chocamine, Cocoa, Yerba Mate, Bacopa, Ashwagandha, Coca, Kava, Sceletium (aka Kanna), Blue Lilly, Kratom, Selegiline (aka Deprenyl), Bupropion (aka Wellbutrin), Moclobemide, Tranylcypromine, Amineptine, Tianeptine, Neurontin, Melatonin, 5-HTP.
If there's any health drugs I left off the list that you've combined with psychedelics and had noteworthy experiences feel free to comment on those as well.
Of the above list I've used the following at various times with psychedelics: Piracetam, Hydergine, DMAE, DL-Phenylalanine, SAM-e, Lecithin, Rhodiola, Taurine, Niacinamide, Vitamin C, Vitamin B12, CoQ10, Catuaba, Selegiline, Buproprion, Melatonin, 5-HTP. The majority of times I used any of these health drugs with a psychedelic the interaction seemed either positive or so subtle that it wasn't noticeable. I'm yet to have a time that I've combined a health drug and psychedelic that seemed particularly negative.
One last thing- I'm not trying to recommend you guys go out and combine any of these health drugs with psychedelics as exploring such uncharted territory can obviously be very risky and a double edged sword if one doesn't know what they're doing. My approach when combining health drugs and psychedelics has been to try to be extremely cautious and scientific and listen carefully to how my mind and body are reacting. I've a feeling adaptogens and smart drugs for the most part have the most potential for positive interaction with certain psychedelics if used properly.
My most recent experiment combining health drugs and psychedelics was Friday night when I combined 21 Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds (ground finely and mixed into a jar of cold water, peppermint extract, peppermint tea, everclear and lemon juice), some Piracetam, Rhodiola (3% Rosavin powder), Vitamin C, DXM (in the form of one bottle of Zicam Max Cough Mist which is what around 390 mg?) and beer ( 5 or so Miller Lites). The DXM and beer I didn't take until I was coming down from the HBW (abbreviation for Hawaiian Baby Woodrose). The trip was very clear, euphoric and enjoyable for the most part with no harsh comedown at all and an oh so wonderful after glow Saturday morning.
I very much appreciate if any of you can give me feedback on your past health drug/psychedelic combinations
Oh, and for the record the psychedelics I've used with health drugs in the past are: HBW, MG (Morning Glory), blotter, MDxx, DXM, and 2CE. I'd love to in the future explore Mescaline containing cacti, Amanita muscaria, Salvia divinorum, DMT and Ayahuasca combined with health drugs.
I've found the right health drugs can really help to cut down on the potential side effects and dangers of certain psychedelics. For example, HBW can sometimes cause a pretty unpleasant feeling of vasoconstriction (unpleasantly tight, twitchy muscles being a common symptom) and I find eating vasodilating supplements like L-Arginine, CoQ10 and Taurine can really help cut down on this.
