The Big & Dandy First-Time-Tripper Thread

so im about to drop for the first time and im looking for a ligit trip. i dont want to just take one tab in risk of underdosing cause im really looking for a hard trip. im thinking about dropping like four tabs. do you think thats to much or should s seperate them out or what i need some pointers
 
DXM first timer questions

Hey everybody, i was thinking about tryin out dxm tomorrow. I've got robitussion cough gels "long lasting" that have 15mg Dextromethorphan HBr in each cap. i weigh 160lbs and was thinking about taking 150mg of DXM for my first time, but that is 10 capsules and for some reason taking that many capsules just worries me and makes me feel like ill overdose. I was just wondering if its ok to take that much and if ill be fine?

Im very experienced with drugs... drink and smoke all the time.. done e a few times, this summer i dropped acid (love it) once to twice a week and now do it once every 2-3 weeks, always down for coke when its offered, ate shrooms a couple times.. so i think im pretty experienced with drugs and their effects, im just worried about taking ten pills.

You'll be just fine. I know that it seems like 10 pills is a lot, but you most likely won't even get the effects you desire from just 10. I'd start around the 300mg range(the full bottle, in your case).

I used to trip DXM quite often when I was younger, and before I had the chance to try any other hallucinogens.

Also, make sure you are in a positive mindset and have a comfortable setting.

have you ever done any psychs before?

my first trip wasn't the most ive ever taken but it was by far the most powerful at least mentally. Acid was nothing like i expected, but more than i could have dreamed of. My point is that even on 1 tab of decent acid many people have an amazing first trip. 2 decent hits will have a good deal of visuals with a crazy amount of mental effects. 4 will overwhelm you in ways that you have never imagined if you have never done a psych before. my first time was on 1.5 hits with a good friend, it had more impact on my life than any of my other trips. It is a powerful chemical, if you think you have the ability to just let go of everything and accept everything your feeling then you might be able to handle it. 1.5 hits had me in a state of not even being able to recall what sanity was, i felt insane but i was able to keep in mind that whatever sanity was it would be back by dawn and just enjoyed the bilssful and single most euphoric experience of my life despite the feeling insane. Acid is not something to really redose on, about 45 minutes after taking it you already have a considerable tolerance. Also i wouldn't drop 4 hits by myself, your going to be having alot going through your head, its nice to have someone to express these thoughts and feelings to thats also on LSD.

oh and have plenty of good music, and a pack of cigarettes if you smoke them at all.... i turn into a chimney when im tripping... ill go through a pack in 8 hours...

i texted the girl i got my first acid from on my first trip, and all she really said was "just let the lovin' take hold"

Hey,

So I'm just starting to taper off of Cipralex (aka Lexapro aka escitalopram) and am thinking of doing shrooms for the first time in a few weeks. I know that the SSRIs will still be in my system, but that weekend is really the only weekend that works for me until next year. I've been reading up a lot, and I know that SSRIs only sometimes inhibit the effects of shrooms, but some people might have to take a larger dose than they would otherwise need to.

I don't want to just assume that I'm going to need a large dose, and then end up with a trip that I am absolutely not able to handle. I've done Salvia, a light night of LSD, and E a bunch of times, and I'm doing it with experienced people that I trust, so I'm not too worried about how it's going to go.

My question is, given that I might need to dose-up because of the SSRIs, how do I know when to dose-up? What would be a good starting dose? and what sort of time/gram increments should I be dosing up in?

I would watch out for some of the nastiness associated with SSRI/SNRI withdrawal cropping up during the trip, and give it more than a few weeks before you experiment with psychedelics. You might have to increase your dose or you might not, that is a very individual thing depending on your own chemistry/levels of drugs/dose/etc so we cannto really tell you. Also, re-dosing (serotonogenic) psychedelics (like mushrooms) generally does not really work as it should and is not reccomended.

I am going to see how the SSRI withdrawal effects hit me and play it by ear. I guess since I'm coming off the SSRIs, it does make sense to wait longer before I trip, but I'm just really excited about it. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I just keep missing out on opportunities (aka my friends are tripping but I have a midterm the next day etc.) If I've waited this long, I guess I can wait a little longer.

Thanks for the advice, and it's good to know that redosing doesn't really work the way one would expect it to.
 
First Time

I'm trying mushrooms this weekend and I am planning on consuming an eighth. Does that sound like a good amount? I have done LSD numerous times in the past so I am not new to psychedelics
 
I did 3.5g my first time, having only tried LSA and low-dose salvia beforehand, and had a blast. You should be fine if you're in the right set and setting.
 
Au contrarie, 3.5g is probably excessive for your first time if the mushrooms are of average strength or above. You could very well have a blast, and some are of the opinion that if you are going to swim, you might a well get wet; but mushrooms can easily get you into a mindfuck that takes you to some dark places. A full eighth is "equal" (though such comparisons are awkward and impercise) to a few hits of good LSD. You might do well to get your feet wet in the psychedelic state with a lower dose.
 
Well I have done 3 hits of LSD before. Also I will be doing this at my house with two of my best friends. I'm trying to take all the percausions to make sure that I have a good trip because several of my friends have had bad trips before.
 
for a novice tripper, i would say 3.5 grams is too much. but, with your previous experience with LSD, i think you'll be fine. IMO mushrooms can be more anxiety inducing than LSD though, especially on the come up. maybe you should start with 2 grams and decide if you wanna eat the other 1.5 an hour later.
 
I consumed 3.5grams my first time with mushrooms and had a blast, set and setting is super important, as long as thats in order, you should be fine...

Be careful though, as others have stated mushrooms can be dark...but I personally think acid can be MUCH darker...
 
i agree with skl

potency ime seems to vary immensely. last weekend i tripped on 1.5g, a dose that what would be considered relatively low yet i experienced effects very similar to the first time i tripped on 3.5g

the 1.5g were homegrown and quite freshly dried while i couldnt tell how old that 1/8 was or how long it had been sitting around or what environs it was exposed to.

also people react differently to different substances. err on playing it safe.

I think 3.5 of good shrooms is a bit much for a first time user but there is really no telling. Everyone reacts differently. The first time I took shrooms, I ate an 1/8th ounce and tripped way too hard. My set and setting were less than ideal though.

I would have to say 2.5 grams would be a better dose.
 
Like most people have said, I'd be wary of eating 3.5 grams of most mushrooms. The strongest trip I've ever had was on about 2 grams --- total ego destruction and rebirth (luckily as a human!). But I've had up to 7 grams before that didn't take me for nearly as much of a ride.

I'd say 2 to 2.5 grams on your first go. You can handle it. You can probably handle an 8th too. But you might be surprised just how strong these little guys are.
