The Big & Dandy First-Time-Tripper Thread

so the bodyload for 2ci isn't too bad?

Not bad at all - just very stimulating. Most folks find 2C-E far worse (although I kinda like the bodyload from it... at least when plugged not orally - ick :|). 2C-E is definitely more of a "classical" psychedelic. Depends what you're looking for really. They all have their good and bad points. Decisions, decisions - hard life, eh? :D

erowid didn't have dose ranges and i've been slowly going through that thread so i guess i'll find the answers eventually...

how would 2cc or 2cd go over as an intro to psychedelics? i realized 4-aco-dmt tho seemingly what i would prefer to try is twice as expensive as any of the 2cs so i may end up going with a 2c

2C-C and 2C-D are great choices for first time psyches, in my opinion. Have dosed a few swirl-noobs with 2C-C (+ ket, actually) and they had a great time. Both are excellent to have in yer stash box cos they are brilliant used alone and amazing as part of a combo - especially 2C-D which seems to mix divinely with everything :)

My girlfriend and I are planning to trip out on LSD sometime next week ... my friend might too, but he's still deciding.

Anyways, I'm a little bit worried about not having a trip sitter for our first time. I like weed (a lot), and I love MDMA (a lot lol). The only psychedelic drug I've ever done is salvia once (never done shrooms), and I actually liked it. I most likely didn't encounter a breakthrough, since it just gave me a feeling of highness that I would feel from weed except EXTREMELY enhanced + crazy visuals. I did have a trip sitter at the moment, but I feel like I didn't need one since all I did was just sit around and talk crazy random gibberish.
^^ These descriptions are just my background on my drug usage, so here's where my actual question starts if it's tl;dr for any of you.

1) Planning to trip out first time on LSD
2) Me + my gf + possibly my friend (all first timers)
3) Trip out at a very secluded park where almost no one knows the existence of. Trip out around noon time, maybe earlier just in case our trips last longer than 8 hours.
4) NO TRIP SITTER – we heard that as long as we are comfortable and know what to expect with our body/mind prepared, we would be okay. Can’t really find anyone who would be willing to take care of us sober for 8 hours.

Well first of all just don't take too high a dose and if you feel confident about yourself it will probably be fine. You might be best off waiting until the peak before deciding to go to that park, that way you can make the decision knowing how hard the trip really is.
Having a sober person around can affect you negatively as well, because it keeps grounding you while you actually want to discover what the trip is like. The point of a sitter is to guide you if the shit hits the fan. It's best if there is someone you can call that is available. My first trip was when I was at my dads place, it wasn't negative that he was there but it was like he constantly reminded me that he had a mind that was capable of thinking about the world I had been used to all my life. He was mocking my strange remarks. I had to get used to feeling so different but I also found it funny that he was like a mirror for me, showing me what was happening. By the way later on that day he tried MDMA for the first time, which was a weird experience lol!

Before you trip together I would agree between the 2 or 3 of you that you start the journey together but let each other free to go on their solo investigations if they are tempted to, but still being there for each other. That way its like you are each others home beacon, you can return to and rely on each other and the feeling of trust.

Though also be prepared that you will experience something never before experienced so its only about a deep trust, not really hanging on each other for answers and passing control to the other.

You might want to wait until there is a possibility of a sitter for safety reasons, sometimes its good to have someone who has tripped before to say exactly what you need to hear in all your naievety.
Try to be responsible, have a great adventure!!

First Trip

just looking for a bit of advise, never really tripped before apart from a little little bit in amsterdam on magic truffles...but unfortunatley threw them up so only managed to believe that the curtain was moving across the room,

buttt after the bf buying an ayahuasca pack back from dam, managed my first trip

not sure if it was just because it was ayahuasca or just me but found it a bit hard to handle at first. quite short of breath, and found it difficult to relax. there was only 3 of us and the other two wernt tripping as hard so maybe that had something to do with it, but until i was laying on the sofa next to both people i was with under a blanket, i didnt feel i was enjoying the trip.

wasnt good if i was left alone for any time and pretty much needed looking after...

once i was there however, the colours and the movements came alive in a nicer way.

any advise on how to relax during the come up, and does anyone know the difference between an ayahuasca trip and an lsd trip...

did have fun though :) vapour trails were awesome!

and eyes = absolutley beautiful during trip

cheers :)

aya is the farthest thing from a good first psych i can think of other than salvia.

That is one that most experienced people regard as one of those things that requires a lot of preparation and someone to look after you.

I still have not tried it. Its really not one of those trips people take for a fun time. It is one that you learn about yourself and get in touch with ones spiritual side.

LSD in a moderate doses is in my opinion not very difficult on the mind. But i can be on 3 or 4 hits around hundreds of people and its not a problem, some people can not do this.

LSD is by all means going to be easier on the mind and body than ayahuasca would be.

Its bright, colorful, energetic, and a dose of getting lost in your head for 8 hours.

Relaxing on the comeup..... try to not think about eating it, just let the effects manifest until your like "woah"..... Color, listen to music, smoke some herb....

haha i should have tried weed, but yea id read about ayahuasca before i tried it and knew it was going to be intense, but b4 you've tripped its hard to imagine how?

i really do think it would have been easier with a better environment, didnt do well with 2 dogs and a cat wandering around...

would def be a better idea to get used to tripping first and then ayahuasca it, cz as you say, spiritual trip from what my research tells me! but i think i wasnt as comfortable as i needed to be to really "get" that bit to come out. so with a bit more experience ill hopefully be able to 'go' on that kind of trip.

and it was my bf's first brew, he'd never made it before so it may also be to do with that.

ergh if only getting used to tripping was easy! with all the acid thats not around at the moment...

thanks for the advice hun xxx

haha and my trippy eyes were scary as fuck! i banned myself from looking in any mirrors cz it freaked me out too much, stims make them dinnerplates, trips make then googley eyes!

xxxx

thanks for moving this for me btw, i coodnt for the life of me find the bloody first trip thread...too monged out to concentrate properly.

Merged your thread in here :)

A piece of advice: check your set & setting as a golden rule, please read about it in this Big & Dandy Thread.

And also: when the trip comes up it takes some time to adjust, even for seasoned trippers, but if you just step out of activities that are too busy and take time for yourself take a deep breath and let it just wash over you... it will be fine, fine being you going to an awesome peak if all goes as planned. Tripping means that you go on a journey so just go through it whatever you encounter and remind yourself that everything is perfectly fine! On one hand realize that you have total control over your mind and that the way you handle what happens to you is up to you. No one is really a victim of destiny in their own experience in the sense that you can look at everything with a positive attitude. Notice how beautiful the world is! So when you understand that ultimate level of control over your consciousness let all that control go so that true happiness comes naturally and intuitively.

If you feel anxious, take some slow breaths and ask yourself: what is there to worry about, concretely? Yes there can be a million thoughts going through your head but its only thoughts. The truth is you are just sitting there and there is nothing in existence that stands between you and a really great trip. So embrace yourself, accept whatever is on your path and whatever will be and go with the flow baby <3

aww you sweetie, thanks for the awesome advised you lot

anyone else had shortness of breath on this stuff too? i think thats whats started the anxiousness, just was so much effort to breath and had to proper concentrate on it and borrowed my bf's sisters inhaler!

hopefully my next trip wont have that so I can relax from the beginning bcz for the parts i was relaxed, i was effing loving it!!!

colours are amazing, and got this cool 3d glasses effect without the 3d glasses if thats makes any sense? with the wierd red and blue outline evrything has!

joiii :)

can anyone tell me anything about their ayahuasca experiences? or should i ask that in another thread :S

In the main Psychedelic Drugs page at the top there is the Essential List / Psychedelic Index, there are all the Big & Dandy Threads and there is one for every psychedelic. :)

But I'll give you the link here as well for ayahuasca. Just look around in both for much info!

The shortness of breath is basically a psychosomatic reaction like a panic or anxiety attack only it sounds like you only had it mildly... psychedelics are not dangerous physically, at least most of em aren't especially when dosed correctly.
Hyperventilation is when you think you're not breathing right, I have felt it too that you really have to concentrate on it. Anxiety is a bitch, and psychs only exaggerate it. I hope you will come to deal with it well.

Haha you be a good girl now! ;)

Acid is seriously a great starter psychedelic, and doses don't have to be sky high either. It's so extraordinary if you have little experience there is plenty to sense either way.

The more gentle 2C's are good for it as well, but I have no clue what options you have.

Ayahuasca is endlessly fascinating and from just about everyone's reactions it seems to be a
deeply life-changing experience, quite extreme. I have tried DMT multiple times and it's better
to leave it until you have a good deal of experience with other psychedelics and start to learn
how to handle your mind even at 1000 mph in hyperspace.

See you around I hope, now its nappy timeZZZZZZZZZZZ
