vegetarian alternative for organic soot?
Hello all, this is a first post in years so please pardon me for reviving an older thread.
I've been experimenting with Datura strammonium for the past year. In the maximum dosages/sitting, I have ingested up to 60 seeds and also smoked up to what I would approximate as 1.5g of dried pod cases. Neither of these have offered any extreme effects, mostly minor changes to my thought patterns, altered perceptions and various aching feelings.
The most visually active experience I've had was with sharing two joints of the pods and mj and consuming 30ish seeds with alcohol. Even this experience was fairly minor, with the company at the time becoming 2 dimensional (moreso in perspective than personality) and this annoying yellow rectangle that tinted the center of my field of vision for an hour.
It is possible that the variety that I have is fairly weak. It was grown in full-sun, good soil structure and nutrition in a Boreal Plains Ecozone (semi dry, moderate length growing season).
I've come to believe that ingesting the seeds can give somewhat cumulative effects. I was consuming an average of 15 seeds a day while I read Castaneda's "Journey to Ixtlan" over a period of about a week and my thoughts, perceptions and mind state were certainly quite different from baseline near the end... but that could be the mystical abilities of Castaneda's words ~;)
Anyways, now to the purpose of this post:
I would like to try the ointment recipe in order to increase the potency of the dosages that I have been consuming without having to get the shitty after effects that I have had with higher dosages of seeds orally (which I am assuming is coming from the atropine and other nasties).
My spiritual beliefs require me to abstain from consuming meat prior to major psychadelic experiences in order to improve the result. I respect the power and danger of Datura use and have no intention of letting myself weaken in the face of "the green temptress" (this name coming from a trip report on erowid if i remember correctly).
I was wondering if there was any alternative to using organic soot? I assume that vegetarian shortening a/o oil can be used to substitute the lard (or perhaps even something wonderfully soothing like a burt's bees product) but I do not know what would be a suitable substitute for the soot. Would a certain type of ash be sufficient?
Essentially, what is in the organic soot that is required? toasted proteins, a caustic residue, some minerals, broken down fats? any educated guess/conjecture would be appreciated. Thanx so much
