Hello, I know the post about redbarons extraction tek is quite old but i wonder if someone with chemistry knowledge could help me out.
I dont have access to acetone but i have Isopropyl alcohol and Isobutanol. I think isopropyl, since it has more water solubility, would be better for the extraction but would the citric acid precipitation phase work with isopropyl? If so is there a way to know if the yields would be smaller and how much so.
Im going to use sodium carbonate instead of calcium hydroxide, since the former is less likely to raise the pH where bufotenine would degrade.

So you can acidify first, but I just went straight to base. I just made a paste 50:50 with my base and the toasted seeds and a little water. Let it sit for an hour. I used calcium carbonate once, and sodium another time. Both worked just fine. Yields were high.

My pulls were with acetone. (Honestly, I feel like on my first run at it twenty years ago I just used isopropyl alcohol and made infused leaf. Don't do this.) I'm not sure what other polar solvent you might have access to that you would want to use here. (Possibly limonene? I don't have solubility data, and I'm not a chemist.) Combine and evaporate your pulls for the freebase, or salt it out (with an acid) after which you can repeat to clean up your product. I've never bothered and don't see the point here.

Limonene might actually work, however fyi it is considered non polar, and has a polarity quite similar to hexane. I've played around with cebil extraction but I never finished up any of my projects.

I used to make a snuff when I lived in ecuador. Very interesting stuff. I've also bought a smokeable extract.

One of the coolest places I've been in my life is a town in southern ecuador called Vilcabamba (sacred valley) Theres giant san pedros that you can literally climb as well as very beautiful cebil trees. The trees drop the seed pods in the morning, and as the day heats up, the pods will crack open and shoot psychedelic seeds at you.

Vilcabamba is beautiful - you're not kidding about the San Pedro either. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought they'd get so big. Compare those to the diminutive peyote.
