The Big and Dandy Ketamine Thread (Next iteration)

Yeah, I actually wake up the morning after a night on ketamine feeling pretty refreshed and in a very pleasant mindstate.

Ketamine in my opinion is an okay drug...

I just took a pretty big line of it and am feeling alright. Coming down from it sucks ass though. You feel pretty fucked for a week or two after doing it, especially if you have to wake up at 7 AM for work a couple days after

You do ? - that sounds like some strange K or you've got a highly unusual metabolism

I was wondering how you guys thought about ketamine compared to other psychedelics like acid or shrooms. I just took ketamine for first time and thought it was a cool drug but dissapointed that it didnt last long enough and a little bit over priced.m But i liked the high and thought it was a good experience.

PS: both nostrills are clogged because i snorted .4 tonight.

In terms of class effects, ketamine is a less potent version of PCP - both have strong dissociative properties. The best way to think about this is to realize that some of the core information about where you are and what you are doing is silently encoded information that comes up the spine from you muscles, muscle twitch regions, joints, and cross-wired information that tells the spine that when one leg extends, the other one flexes, etc. The dissociative drugs block these signals and give one the sense of altered motor and/or sensory expression of movement. The cumulative effect of this one set of blockades is to give the head less information about place and position, leading to a 'central' dissociative sense of state. In some cases this is perceived as pleasant, in others, an unpleasant experience simply from the lack of connection to the body. That bing said, there are additional dissociative effects that block communication between the PNS and the CNS. There appears to be a dose-response for this dissociative property that is lower than the dissociative sensory changes which border hallucinatory experiences. It is important to point out that the hallucinatory aspects of CID and rooms are fundamentally different in quality, qantity (as you have alluded to) and connectedness to emotional response from the participant.

if youre doing a line and getting side fx like that, then it's not k. I've done anywhere up to 4 grams (!!!!!) to the head in a sitting! next day and week was fine, no hangover.

not that doing that much is safe at all, in fact it's quite unhealthy, but you shouldnt feel such a bad hangover, thats just how k is.

^ The aftereffects shouldn't last anywhere near that long, bro...

Yeah, maybe I'm just an idiot. But I swear I feel fucked up for another couple days after doing it.

I'm not that big of a fan. The euphoria is decent but last night I did two lines. The first line oh yeah I felt something for sure since it was a pretty big line. The second line did jack shit. So many people who use it are bound to go k holing if they aren't satisfied with the high after a line.

Just thought there should be a link to the Ketamine SERIOUS Side FX thread in here for when the original sinks.

Here's the journal abstract. Heavy users beware.
Destruction of lower urinary tract by ketamine abuse: a new syndrome?

Tuesday, 19 August 2008 - Chu et al. (200 reported the clinical spectrum seen in young abusers of street-ketamine (regular recreational abusers of street-ketamine, for its hallucinogenic effects) in Hong Kong, presenting with significant lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) but with no evidence of bacterial infection.

The authors retrospectively analysed the clinical presentations, pelvic pain and urgency/frequency scores, video-urodynamic studies, cystoscopy findings, histological features of bladder biopsies and radiological findings of 59 ketamine abusers who were referred to the urology units of Princess Margaret and Tuen Mun Hospital, Hong Kong, from March 2000 to December 2007.

Of the 59 patients, all had moderate to severe LUTS, i.e. frequency, urgency, dysuria, urge incontinence and occasionally painful haematuria. Forty-two (71 patients had a cystoscopy that showed various degrees of epithelial inflammation similar to that seen in chronic interstitial cystitis. All of 12 available bladder biopsies had histological features resembling those of interstitial cystitis. Urodynamically, either detrusor overactivity or decreased bladder compliance with or without vesico-ureteric reflux was detected to some degree in all of 47 patients. Thirty patients (51 had unilateral or bilateral hydronephrosis on renal ultrasonography, and four (7 showed features suggestive of papillary necrosis on radiological imaging. Eight patients had a raised serum creatinine level.

In conclusion, a syndrome of cystitis and contracted bladder can be associated with street-ketamine abuse. Secondary renal damage can occur in severe cases which might be irreversible, rendering patients dependent on dialysis. The present data do not establish the precise cause nor the incidence. Street-ketamine abuse is not only a drug problem, but might be associated with a serious urological condition causing a significant burden to healthcare resources.

I am setting up a urologist appointment tomorrow. I shall fill you in on the details when I get them :)

I've had Ketamax from the vial and it felt different from other racemic K I've had, but I can't offer any explanation as to why. :\

It probably is related to ratios like you say. I don't know what else it could be. This one brand felt more physical to me and lasted a little longer than other stuff I've tried.

Ketamine Addicts 'Unite'

So where are all the addicts?<3<3<3

If only there were a way to reverse tolerance. I've been doing K for 4+ years in a very addicted manner. I did 20 grams (that's 20 vials) of K a month at one point for 6 months straight. That is how K-Land is truly experienced. I was not sober, I did repeated hourly IM injections with dried bumps in between. That is where I earned most of my seemingly permanent tolerance. Doing bumps now, I would waste grams in a day and get little out of it.

I either have to IM or IV... and GOD the IV's can get ugly. Lots of blood, lots of lines down your arm. Not quite as bad as heroin tracks, but similar enough. Needless to say my arms are covered in tracks

I typically IM 50mg of K every half hour. The effects stack depending on if it's Veterinarian K or Human-grade. With human-grade I do that every 15 minutes. My deltoids get so sore when I would run out of K because the ability to feel pain returns. Then there's all that goddamned Norketamine in the system, which makes you feel like crap if you've just binged on 5 grams in a couple days. Not to mention the weight loss. SUGAR KILLS K. Try it, eat a candy bar on K and watch you'll have to do MORE K to get high again. The reason is glutamate. Ketamine blocks glutamate in the NMDA and AMPA receptors. Eating sugar restores this in your brain and overrides the Ketamines block. Ever heard of 'Heroin Sheik'?

Try losing 10-15 lbs in a week binge. Ketamine also is a stimulant, not a depressant, and it will raise your metabolism long after the psychological effects wear off. It's kinda cool if you want to be able to eat a bunch of junk food --- not cool if like me you don't eat that shit lol Only organics and rarely sugars. Here's a picture, look at my arms.. this too is about 2 years old. I look anorexic. It happens with K. If you become addicted, it will raise its head as a side-effect for you too.

Still: I love this drug and it is very safe. It is virtually non-toxic and very forgiving. My vitals and organ funtions are still in tip-top shape at 27 years old.. even after all the abuse.

However, there is such a stigma (and also great risk) to using needles... and believe me, if you snort K long enough eventually you will either A) get bored and quit because you're afraid of needles or B) start with IM's then graduate to IV use.

I know because many of my raver and K-buddies followed me, just not quite as far. So regardless of the fact that no one has physically died from Ketamine alone (except in the hospital due to surgical complications)...... if you end up abusing this drug the people around you will more than likely freak out.

I'm a california state ceritified and nationally certified phlebotomist, which is how I got my syringes. Always stay sterile and clean, there is risk of Hep, HIV etc.. NEVER SHARE SHIT.

NEVER share a liquid vial once the needle has been poked into it and into your body then back into the vial. Pieces of your blood and friends blood as well as muscle and vein tissue (containing possible virus) get in the vial. Luckily I was always too greedy and fiendish with the shit to share my vials like that.

K is a wonderful antidepressant and has the most amazing anxiolytic properties that dwarf any SSRI or SNRI known to man. But when abused it can really become a creature of the opposite character. I find my personality to be much more PARANOID than before. Ketamine's antidepressant effects don't happen anymore for me... or they're not that noticable. I just have a lot of energy from the increased metabolism for a few days after a binge which actually causes me more anxiety and I get all OCD cleaning that house.

It's not meth. Meth is dirty dog shit. But a lot of the side-effects mimic meth in the long term.

Paranoia, weight loss, depression, less ability to "feel" as far as find anything BUT using Ketamine pleasurable. Simple pleasures are non-existant to me anymore. I fiend to do K with everything, regardless of the high tolerance. I waste endless vials and just piss off everyone who loves me. So I guess all I'm trying to portray here is a real version of a Ketamine addict. The good, bad, and the ugly. I'm an open book and I think you and anyone wanting to get into this drug should check this out.

I didn't become an addict overnight -- but PRETTY damn quickly. Ketamine is the love of my life and also the worst thing that ever happened to me.

Regards,
Elemya

^ if you're looking for a place to share stories with ketamine addicts, TDS is probably the place to go.

but, have you noticed any urinary problems at all? either during use or after stopping?

thanks for sharing elemya.
needless to say Keramine additction is no stranger to some of us here.

Although i have never used at the rate you do, and not for that long either, i have found it to be psychologically addicting. Usually using it till it runs out and redosing multiple times in a night.

Why do you only IM 50mg? With your tolerance i imagine i higher dose is needed.
Nothing like a 200mg shot, lay back, watch the world spin away from under you.

is there a way to make k stronger? as in; take a drug to help metabolize more? I know you can do this with opiates, benzo's and mdma but what about ketamine?
