The Big and Dandy Ketamine Thread (Next iteration)

Hmmm, I tried I.M K...like I think it was around maybe 50-100mg. And I didn't really get much effects. felt a bit warmish and tingly, some very mild CEV and a bit of uncoordinated.

Why? Did I I.M wrong? I have a DXM tolerance, would that mean I have a strong K tolerance as well? I still would''ve expected more effects from 50-100mg IM K.

^Yeah, they're both NMDA antagonists; I don't know how significant the cross tolerance is, but I don't doubt it's at work either. As I wrote about a few posts back, my recent experience indicates that DXM lengthens and potentiates ketamine significantly at a 2nd plateau dose without garbling the ketamine "signal" too much. This seems to imply both drugs are wearing down the same experience-associated pathways in the brain to some degree.

Of course, your just guessing at the dose you took, too, which makes it hard to say much. For many, 50mg of IM ketamine alone is not very much at all. Read through the thread, find what dose's others have used to get where you want, and then find some way to weigh your doses. Really cheap scales online, especially if you just want to weigh something with a large margin of safety like k.

In a dream I had last night, I dropped three hits of acid, then right after I dropped I decided to snort a K-hole dose.

Upon awaking, I thought about it, and decided that seems like a pretty badass way to start an acid trip. =)

I was wondering if anyone here has actually done a K-hole dose right after dropping a psychedelic? How did it turn out?

I've never tried K without some really chill music in the background......i'm kind of curious to try it now without music. I'm very used to the music help guide the trip along. Anyone have any thoughts on how trips vary with and without music.....anyone have strong thoughts against music while on K? I would imagine it would be very different
All my first Ketamine experiences were: Me, Pink Floyd, and my bed. They were amazing. Music goes amazing with Ketamine. You're right about the 'guiding' factor, I find I can't hop on that roller coaster ride as easily without music. Now, if you're K-Holing, music or not won't make much difference, but for lower doses I find music pretty important and influential on making the trip stronger/better.

Video games and K are fun too though...Especially shooting games as they require really quick reactions you're often left in hysterics when you're sniping, see someone, watch them run across the screen, they disappear, you shoot, and you realize how fucked you are.

I always have music on when I use ketamine. Even when I'm not aware enough of any other part of the world to have any idea what's going on, I can hear the music I have on and know what's coming next.

For some reason movies or anythign with a plotline really bothers me when I am on K. I feel the need to follow it and get confused and then get threatened, sort of. It can be too overwhelming. Listening to music is great too but I am picky about what I listen to ... there is one Dark Star from winterland '74 that is ketamine music for real but forthe most part surprisingly perhaps I don't find that the Dead go so well...

the last movie i "watched" was he got game and there was one line in it, something about playing the game of life or something having to do with regret i can't remember, that really stuck out and it kept repeating throughout my trip. i feel you though, i kept getting distracted and wanted to open my eyes but after i settled in, it was ok. the one time i thought i died due to respiratory depression was during a horror movie, it sucked :\

i tend to go for downtempo music, usually dub. something about the funky reggae beat makes me feel so calm and safe. music has a huge impact on the way my trip goes, too. if the music isn't right, i just can't get into it.

Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Shpongle are my favorite Ketamine musics at a K-hole dose.

At lower doses I can really get into some Smashing Pumpkins :)

ive been hearing great things about shpongle.....i just downloaded some last night, and i look forward to playing it this weekend on my next K journey.
i've never listened to any type of rock-ish music when on K.....not sure how that would work. I always find it amazing how much the "right" music can affect a K journey.

I don't think it is. I know people who have done a lot of K, but they didn't have much of a problem stopping, they didn't even mention missing it when they were done.

Dissociatives and psychedelics are usually, by nature, not addictive simply because the mental and body load are often too much for someone to want to use these drugs daily.

That said, I know there are some cases of psychological DXM addiction, so maybe this would extend to ketamine as well. But I do not think its a frequent problem.

Ketamine, to my knoweldge*, is addictive.

Addiction to anything can and most probably is a problem.

*Read it somewhere.

There is definite ketamine addiction because it CAN be used daily. It's a 45-90min experience. May be completely debilitating, but it definitely can be used daily.

Ketamine is the worst in this respect. But then again, look at the PCP addicts. No one would claim they don't exist.

Merged in a thread about whether or not ketamine addiction is a frequent problem. Considering the number of posts we get from K fiends, I would say it isn't rare.
