it's the only explanation that really resonates with me.

The collective unconsciousness for Jung being this primal reserve of images and what not ... DMT and other psychs seem very primal/archetypical to me ... and the collective unconsciousness being a shared reserve of information ... not necessarily something that we can use to transmit data or images ... but maybe it is? See above with the 'stuff' of consciousness and quantum physics and what...

See, I'm pretty convinced that it could be used and is used to transmit data and images. On a less metaphysical level we're doing it right now as we post at Bluelight for everyone to read and assimilate. Think of all the trip reports you've read and how they've shaped your experiences. All the information you've accumulated that was shared by other people. That's why I write trip reports, because they contribute to the experience of everyone as they get dispersed through the collective consciousness.

Or that's how it seems to me at least.
 
What about the directed panspermia idea that Crick had? That DNA is a molecule from an alien species and they built in some memory of themselves before sending it out to seed the universe?

97% of DNA is so-called "junk DNA" that appears to have no purpose so maybe the aliens bunged themselves into it and somehow DMT activates it.

Thats how it seems to me, too, xorkoth. That is why it is so important to remain vigilant to one's own behavior within a community (online or otherwise). Because if you are a part of the community then your actions WILL affect people's lives, let alone their psychedelic trips.
 
@Xorkoth and Planes: your posts generally mirrored my thoughts. And I wholeheartedly agree that trip reports are of extreme importance. The data we derive from them can be compared to find similarities and common reoccurrences, in order to better understand what the substance is really trying to tell us.

btw I'm kinda new to these forums and relatively new to DMT. I just had a few questions some of you might be able to answer.

My DMT hasn't been ammonia-washed yet. I've tried a couple of hits and they felt unnaturally harsh, like the smoke was liquifying in my lungs. I could also taste it on my lips and on my tongue. Is this normal? I've also tried plugging with butter, with very minimal effects. Dangerous?

I also wanted to know if there was anything I could use other than ammonia to wash the crystals? Something easier to find perhaps.
 
My hunch is that the DMT smoke is not particularly good for you, and it certainly is nasty stuff if not washed...I have smoked some DMT made from quick'n'dirty extractions that left the proverbial nasty taste in my mouth, a sort of numbing/burning feeling... but as long as you are not smoking it all the time I doubt that it would be a big issue.

As for washing the DMT, I have heard of people using ether, but I think ammonia is easier to get than that. Should be availible at your hardware store but there may be a few hurdles in this day and age.
 
I don't know about the ammonia wash (use non-sudsy if you do), never tried it. But, if you have enough you can dissolve in the least amount of HOT naptha possible and then stick that beaker into the freezer to 'shock' the crystals out of the solution (as the solution cools the solubility will drop and release some pure DMT freebase). You then pour quickly over a filter (catch the naptha through it cause it will contain some DMT) in order to gather the pure DMT. Scrape and dry and enjoy.

You can evap the bit of naptha that ran through the filter also to get back some of the more impure DMT (although now this will be even more impure since the proportion of DMT:impurities will be greater).

Rectal DMT has a very low absorption rate for some reason. I don't know why (probably MAO gets at it). Snorting seems a little higher (but burns your nasal passage bad). IM and IV seem superior but you REALLY need a crystal clean product and to use a wheel filter.
 
I never tried any recrystalization techniques involving naptha, but ammonia washes never worked for the batch I tried them on. Either way, you shouldn't be getting a nasty taste unless your DMT is ridiculously impure or you're torching it with the lighter. When smoking an untreated 2nd or 3rd pull, I find little to no yuckiness if vaporizing correctly. :)
 
Waiit a sec...so you're saying the 2nd and 3rd pull are purer forms of DMT? Cause I still haven't evapped the leftovers in my freezer yet, maybe i should think about trying those?

edit: also had another question I've never gotten down to asking yet.

Say I didn't have a scale; how do I eye my doses? Because I've been relying on Marsofold's advice who said that a dose is approximately half a garden-pea size. Someone else said it was the tip of a matchstick...well I'm pretty sure Ive dosed my pipe with way more than that, yet I only got very mild effects. Does this have anything to do with the fact I haven't washed them yet? They look relatively clean, almost pure white. Any thoughts?

There are not a lot of instances that I would say this but here is one situation you do not have to be overly concerned about mg doses.

If you want to get high, smoke until you feel the buzz.

If you want to go deep, smoke until you can't smoke anymore.

If you want to break through, take one more hit after that.

Of course if you are doing oral/injected/rectal/something else DMT then that is another matter and you need a scale.
 
Finally getting on the bandwagon. First attempt showed a LOT of promise, although I wasn't even trying to break through. Smoked around 15~20mg, very, VERY nice stoned feeling, subtle visuals - moving patterns etc. Probably haven't mastered the smoking technique yet as well :)

The smoke tasted really weird, but wasn't as harsh as I was expecting. The stuff I got has a very pale yellowish colour, so I'm guessing it's probably pretty clean :)

I'll give smoking several more tries, and then go to the moclobemide/DMT combination. Looking forward to getting deeper :)
 
Everybody, tell me about snorting DMT. There's not a whole lot out there on this. I have the general idea that you need about 2x as much as a smoked dose, and that it lasts perhaps an hour or more?

I also have the impression that it burns like hell.

Maybe I'll have to sniff some soon and report back.
 
You need more than a smoked dose. I dunno about twice as much but you do need more. It lasts longer and hits you slower and is a very nice body feeling as you slide into other-space. I have not gone too deep with it but it felt sort of like the IM DMT of which I am so fond but not quite as gentle. Very very very much worth giving a whirl though :)
 
BURNS LIKE HELL

great body feel even at EXTREMELY low doses ~5 mg (still burns, didnt go for the rest of the pile of 15mg) and lasted about an hour and a half. a real nice walk to the store and back.

ive tried to convert it to the acetate but its goo. tartaric acid would be ideal, dunno if that would burn. but the closest place i can get that stuff is mount dora at some winery (like 45 mins away). havnt got around to that yet...
 
Snorting DMT feels really, really bad for the sinuses. My spidey-senses told me that stuff was absolutely corroding my sinus tissue.
 
Only ever done it two ways ~ orally which was a fecking awful experience:( and vapourising it which has been blissful on occasions !!!;) ;) =D =D =D <3 <3 <3

The 2nd and 3rd pulls are more impure than the first. Definitely evap what you've got left! I was saying that if you are vaporizing the spice the right way then you shouldn't taste much, if any, of the "burning plastic" that people complain of. As for the dose, the half-pea estimate sounds about right.
