The Big and Dandy Basic Psilocybin Mushroom Questions Thread (Arch 3-18-07 - 4-21-08)

I only did mushrooms 2 times, but every time I had that strange deja-vu feeling. And I could trigger it by just thinking of the pure moment itself.

Can anybody else do it? It's really strange.

^Yep. Tripping and deja vu all seem to be about sensorial data feedback and reinforcement. After heavy DMT smoking in particualr, I seem to be walking around for weeks in a world where eveyrthing has already happened. Don't let it disturb you, as it is more the feeling of your mind observing underlying and previously unseen patterns and loose connections between seemingly isolated things.

Is there any way mushroom usage can affect one's cannabis highs?
I did mushrooms once (only time) about 2 months ago and basically ever since I really trip out on weed and have ridiculously intense and vivid CEVs that rival the CEVs and OEVs I had on shrooms. It's insane.

the more your trip on traditional psychedelics, the more you realize how trippy cannabis (also a psychedelic) is.

also after each trip it takes the brain a little bit, approx a week, to re-regulate its neurotransmitter levels. if you smoke while this s happening you will feel particularly trippy, both from the weed and the psychedelic you're re-adjuting from

Interesting... well, truthfully, I smoked cannabis a good handful of times in the weeks after doing 1/8th of mushrooms, but none were particularly psychedelic or unusual. It was only when I started smoking this really good shit, sour diesel, that I "unlocked" the door to psychedelia with cannabis. I say this because now even regs or mids can give me mild CEVs as well as the dank. It's fascinating and mindboggling. I wish more people would speak about it.

I have a quick mushroom question.

I was wondering what were more potent, caps or stems??
I think i remember hearing caps have more psylocybin in them but I am not entirely sure.

Does anybody know??

One more question :-)

Does tripping on mushrooms often, like doing it one day and then again 5 days later, have a major impact on trip strength?

Caps are the most potent generally, you may have to slightly increase your dose; but in five days you shouldn't really have much tolerance.

Does storing mushrooms in the refridgerator keep them from losing their potency, or is it just best to keep it in an airtight container, away from light and heat so the psylocybin wont break down, likewise with LSD?

Store them in the same way you would store any drug, like LSD. Store it in a dry, cool place away from the light. The fridge is fine as long as they're in a sealed ajr (or other airtight container), and preferrably with a dessicant packet inside.

As long as they're dried... fresh mushrooms must be dried to store for any length of time.

Shrooms on anti-depressants

i really want to trip again. i feel that the next time i do is going to be the most profound trip ive had yet. i dont know if i can though. i was just prescribed cymbalta and trazodone for depression and my doctor told me to not take any drugs while i am on them. me being the idiot that i am smoked some weed the other night after my doctors warning (my friend just picked up an ounce of northern lights, i pretty much had to :p). i dont know why it affected me so bad but it did. later on during the night i was in my bathroom when i completely blacked out. the blindness came with an emotion that for the life of me i can not describe. it was a feeling that was completely foreign to me, but it scared me shitless. it was so different and terrifying that i started vomiting. if weed affected me that bad while i am on this medication i dont know if i should eat shrooms again or not. :/

thoughts?

fake edit: hope this is in the right section.

Why not first deal with the problem you're getting medicated for?
And, if you've decided the medication is bullshit and you'll be better able to deal with the problem mentioned without them, why not ditch the meds before trying to heal yourself?
Personally I believe you've got your priorities seriously mixed up, in a possibly dangerous way.

Had no idea mushrooms were like this

First of all, here's what I ingested. I'm thinking I got some bad mushrooms:

I only managed to get an eighth; I wanted to do at least two eighths, so I decided I'd just sample the eighth at low doses, as a teaser (when I trip, I wanna trip.)

I thought mushrooms would produce a golden effect

Clarity of thought; laughter; pleasant body sensations.

It was nothing like that.

Mild nausea; neutral, heavy-feeling body-buzz; lights became slightly brighter; and people looked very lurid -- kind of like when you put glasses on for the first time in your life. The doses I took were too low for any visuals (I basically quartered the eighth, over a week), but I experienced mild tracers. Let me put it this way: One time I downed a small bottle of Robotussin Max; this felt like I drank half the bottle. I guess a good way to describe the experiences is: mild delirium. A cold high. Another kid I talked to, who took these shrooms, also said the effects were kind of delerious.

An acidhead I used to hang out with told me that shrooms felt poisonous to her, whereas acid felt clean. A bunch of people seem to feel this way.

Does it depend on the type of mushrooms? Do some mushrooms have more of a poisonous feel?

It depends on the set and setting.

One time I took 8 grams and went outside and had a great trip with nature.

One time I took 4 grams inside and it was the most "noxious" feeling trip ever, my body felt like it was overcome with some sorta "nox haze", "things" were wrapping around my physical body and the trip was more dark/crazy than pleasent. I think it was cause I was inside.

LSD is more lucid, but then again set and setting can cause LSD trips to become unpleasent.

It all depends.

Those look like the real thing, but who knows? Purely a set and setting thing. I'll go with the popular advice and say mushrooms are more suited for outdoors, at least in my experience.

that's the reason. you took each time not even 1g of cubies...try at least 1.5g next time, you can push up until 3g-3.5g if you want (more I woudn't recommend)

mushrooms are a great teacher, don't overlook them, nor downlook them

I found this out by myself last night. I don't know why weed effects me so bad on these meds but it does. I woke up this morning after smoking a lot last night to find I vomited all over my sheets last night. Hahaha, this fucking sucks.
