I died and...

...was buried underground?

A few months ago I ate probably around 3.0 - 3.8 grams of some dried Golden Caps.

At the peak of my trip I go lie down in my bed to try to make sense of what was happening. I found it was very hard to breath and i kept trying to make myself fall asleep. When I would close my eyes and lie on my stomach my breathing would stop and then I figured out that if I stopped breathing I would die...So being in that shroomed out state of mind I decided to push it to the limit and I stopped breathing and closed my eyes...

Upon realizing I was dead I saw myself (perhaps an OBE) in the same position I was lying down decomposed like a mummy and I saw maggots and worms eating away at my decomposing corpse...8o

...After witnessing this I woke up almost instantly and I was still in bed...but I had a box of tissues on a chair next to my bed and it almost felt like I was waking up in a hospital bed even though it was my own room.

Has anybody had anything similar or can explain this too me?
IDK I guess I was just tripping

That is one intense trip.

That kind of dissolution of the body is an intense form of ego loss that can be very spiritually rewarding, if you're able to integrate the experience back into your daily life.

There is a very intense form of Buddhist meditation that involves imagining the exact same thing that you saw.

The idea behind the meditation is to help you understand that you are not your body. You are energy. You are the witness. Even without form, you exist.

Our egos are so tied to our physical form that this is a really difficult concept to wrap your head around.

I hope you can take something from this experience :)

I never observed my own dead corpse before, but I have experienced actual death....experienced the ultimate omega point of my consciousness, the final resting place of my existence. Done it many a time, in fact. Anyone who's pushed 5-MEO-DMT to the limit will know exactly what I'm talking about.

what happened to you as you lay dying? Did you instantly warp from your bed to an overhead view of your body, or was there awareness in between? I've had hectic moments on powerful doses of mushrooms or acid where I'd just become conscious in a completely alien environment, and suddenly be bombarded with what'd seem like a lifetime's worth of memory, a lifespan's sequence of events, all at once....and realize exactly where I was, instantly. Like butterfly effect, if you've ever seen that movie.

life is fuckin crazy yo. Who knows what is possible.

Damn...i cant imagine having that happen to me, but someday im confident that a similar experience occur. hope you can make the most of it.

I'm hoping that this isn't somewhere already, buried in the threads, but is there somewhere where people have listed the top weight that they have taken? Because I would really like to see where people have topped off and what their experience was at that highest amount. (I'm really only interested in psilocybin at the moment)

As I witnessed myself lying dead on the ground it was an instant flash like a camera flash and there I was viewing myself dead/decomposed in if I remember a field or in dirt. Shrooming alone with a lot on the mind will do that too yah

I have read about growing mushroms and it's something im really intersted in doing. Ive never tried mushrooms before and i dont wanna grow them just for the purpose of "doing mushrooms" but i think the whole idea of having this little project and growing mushrooms urself can be quite rewarding. Anyone feels that way? Plus i will know that my first trip will be with something real and not some poisoneous stuff. My questions are: If you buy a specific spore to grow, there is no way u will grow something else that can be harzadous to ur health, even if u make a mistake while growing them?
Also, once u grow them, do u have to dry them or can u eat them fresh? Is there any differences is strenght or dosages?

Once you get the specific spores then there is no way it will grow another mushroom unless you go rolling about in mountains of fungi fruiting bodies and then colonize your substrate. If you make a mistake whilst growing them then the worst that can happen is that they either don't grow, grow poorly or weirdly.

You can eat them fresh or dried, the difference in strength will be negligible if at all, although this may depend on the strain of mushroom. The dosages are very different in fresh and dry mushrooms. The high water content of the fresh mushrooms obviously means that they will weigh more. There is no specific rule for ratios but I read somewhere that you can need up to 10x weight in mushrooms when eating fresh compared to dry.

Nausea may be bad but it is eliminated completely (reasonable dose) for me if I make a cup of tea from the mushrooms.

Drying and conserving Mushrooms

I have a question concering the drying and conservation of Magic Mushrooms.
I know that there is a lot of info to find regarding this subject, but I still have some specific question that you guys could help me with.
Can I / Is it safe to dry my mushies using my oven? I can set it at 35°C. Or i can use the defrost option that sends air from the kitchen and heats it to 30°C and lets I blow above and below the roster. What would you do, and how long will it take to get them completly dry?

Also, if i grind the dried mushrooms and put them in a ziplock bag, how long will I be able to conserve them without loosing potency? I will be storing them out of the freezer/fridge, but in a cool, dark basement.

Thanks for your help!

Merged in a question about preserving mushrooms.

I have used a home dehydrator to dry out mushrooms before, with the temperature set to 130 degrees F, which is around the temperature you're describing. Such a temperature will not destroy the psilocin/cybin, although prolonged exposure will start to. But it dries them much faster. The way I most often dried them was just to cover them in paper towels to protect from the light and to point a fan at them, blowing gently, This dired them pretty completely within a day or so. Then once you get them dry, you can put them in an airtight jar with a few packages of dessicant to make sure the moisture stays out. Stored in this way away from light and heat, they will last a very long time.

A Couple Mushroom Questions

I tried mushrooms for the first time a little over a month ago. I ate a half eighth (1/16oz, 1.8g) of dried P. Cubensis. It gave me a very euphoric sensation with mild OEV's (walls breathing, carpet seemed to be "flowing", motion trails) and pretty vivid CEV's. However, my experience could have been better, as I was in a pretty visually boring environment for the entire duration of my trip: my room.

This weekend, a friend of mine wants to trip, which I obliged to, but I have a couple questions. Is 1/8th ounce an okay dose for somebody who has already experienced mushrooms? I'm also a pretty big guy.

Also, I have heard that benzos are a good way to end a bad trip. I happen to have a few 1mg lorazepam pills. In the event that I do have a bad trip, would lorazepam help?

An 1/8th is a decent and very common dose for mushrooms. Popping a benzo to kill a "bad trip" is not recommended except in cases where the person is a danger to themselves and others. If you abort a difficult trip, the issue will resurface again, either in daily life or on another trip. The issue causing the problem has to be resolved.

If 1/16th was a light trip for you, taking an 1/8th of the same batch is going to be a pretty safe way not to be underwhelmed again.

Using benzos is a good way to release some anxiety, but should only be used if really needed. It is not recommended to take them as soon as the experience gets difficult, but rather when the situation really requires them. Otherwise, you should just say to yourself that the trip will be over soon, and just try to work through the issues that are causing you to have a difficult trip.

You're probably aware of that, but the most important factors to make note of before taking a high dose of a psychedelic are set and setting. If these two aren't perfect, you shouldn't be dropping at all. Most freakouts and bad trips are actually caused by improper set & setting.

I agree with the benzo suggestions... if you're having a bad trip where you might be a danger to yourself or others, that's one thing. But bad trips happen for a reason. There is some issue coming up out of your subconsciousness, usually that you were un aware of. If you abort the trip, that issue will remain inside you, and it will resurface, usually worse since you've encountered it and run. However, if you tough it out, you'll learn something about yourself and generally will acquire some tools to help you deal with it, or banish it altogether, and it will be gone from your consciousness.

I had a host of neurotic issues when I started tripping, and my first trips were all quite difficult. However, once a difficult trip is over, you feel amazing because you've worked through your issues. After many trips, the issues I once had with lack of self-confidence, social anxiety, feelings of self-loathing, and a creeping depression have all been lifted because through my difficult trips I learned how to stop my mind from working against me. Just keep as positive a mindset as you can, and remember that if you're feeling bad, changing your setting helps a lot. Go outside, change the music, or something. Being outside, I've found, it almost essential with mushrooms in particular. All of my difficult trips have been while I was inside... in my opinion it's just not the place to trip. Being out in nature (away from civilization) is a much calmer and more peaceful trip, generally speaking.
