Alright so I have not gone a day without smoking for a few years and last month I decided that I am gonna let it all get out of my system so my tolerance will restart. I waited for it to get completely out of my system and then smoked a lot of bud last night and got more high that I have been in at least 2 years. I like this.. I like this ALOT. I like it so much I have decided that I will only smoke for one day at a time, wait for my system to clear again, then repeat the cycle.

So my question is:

About how long will it take for it to get out of my system after smoking a lot in one day?

(sorry is this has been posted before.. I looked everywhere but could not find any sort of answer to this)

SWIMing is not allowed on Bluelight. It just makes your posts difficult to read and understand. Everyone knows it you who youre talking about.

Welcome to Bluelight! Please don't use swim, it doesn't do anything and makes things complicated.

When I was preserving a zero-tolerance policy (see what I did there =D) I would smoke about once a week. Anything more than that and I would notice tolerance creep slowly but surely. I also would only smoke like 1 bowl, which would get me lifted.. I use weed for medical reasons, serious ones, need to keep my tolerance down so lately I've been breaking 3-4 days a week, then smoking like an absolute champ the other 3-4 days. My tolerance isn't super low, by any means, but it's not that high (puns and puns and puns)

Benny and his puns ^_^ hahahahaha SO MANY PUNS!

OP, if you can try and keep smoking to weekends-only, your tolerance will be next to nothing and you may even go back to enjoying bud how it used to be.

Let me guess your favorite rapper is Big Pun? This is all speculative but once every two weeks. And you should be able to pass a drug test almost the whole month to if you want to get a job and buy more weed.

^ Once every 2 weeks is complete overkill. You could probably achieve the same results every 3rd day. Hell I have a tolerance but if I toke once a night, instead of being high all day like usual, I get absolutely blasted.

Please allow me to be a little pedantic: the process is not exactly about "getting the stuff out of your system".
It's about regulation of cannabinoid receptors type CB1, CB2 (and I think some experts have come up with a CB3 classification, but it's not important).

If you cease or reduce consumption by a significant amount, the receptors undergo upregulation (sensitization).

From my experience:
If I've been smoking every day and suddenly cease completely, going into abstinence mode:
- resuming after 5 days significantly increases my ability to get high or stoned.
- resuming after 15 days or more makes me feel almost like it's my first time smoking weed again. It actually gets a little scary for me sometimes.

There should be 2 cutoff points where:
- you won't increase your ability to get high/stoned anymore, no matter how many more days of abstinence you wait out. The receptors have already undergone full upregulation [what dankplantgrower says above].
- you won't decrease your ability to get high/stoned anymore, no matter how much more you consume (or how much more frequently). The receptors have already undergone full downregulation. You don't get the full range of effects (at least I don't) of cannabis because tolerance has set in, big time. But it still gets the chronic user high or stoned.

What are the 2 cutoff points exactly, in number of days?
There is no universal answer, would be my guess.
Depends on several factors (among them: dose, frequency of previous use, maybe the lenght of time of the use). Might be different from individual to individual, too.

I was assuming he had drug test because he was talking about getting it out of his system. Even still smoking once a night you will get a significant tolerance.
