^ the nominations will still be considered but they may get tallied up incorrectly as a vote for <song>,<space>led zeppelin will be sorted differently than <song>,led zeppelin.

is it really too much to ask people to stick to a simple, common format to make the job of the person tallying up the nominations just a little less prone to error?

I'm not hung up on it. And I don't know exactly how it makes it easier for him, maybe he can enlighten us. This is basically alasdair's competition. He presented the idea to us mods of NEMD and we accepted. Since he came up with the competition he gets to decide on the rules, albeit as seemingly trivial as they may be, it seems to help him. I assumed the specific formatting helps him gather up all the nominees easier in someway. How? I don't know, but I'm sure there's a rhyme or reason to it. Maybe he copies the entire page into a word processor that can identify a common format of text and categorizes them into a list, so he had to pick some sort of way to make them all similar? That, or something along those lines(even though ultimately deep down I know he's doing it just to peeve you;))

I'm not sure I'd have the attention span to orchestrate a competition. So I'll honor his requests and since it's being held in my section I'll be "enforcing" the rules to make sure everyone gets their nominations in. Not because alasdair is telling me to enforce anything. It's not like your post will be removed, nor will you be warned if you type it up wrong. The rules state that it will just not count as a legitimate nomination. I'm just trying to empathize with some of the slack-asses who may not have looked into what the competition is all about. Maybe they only saw the thread title and rushed in to start posting.

it seemed like a really simple, humble request. i'm going to collate all these results so could you just stick to one simple, common format when posting entries. seems that was too much to ask :/

if people want to post with a space after the comma, go ahead - i'll do a simple search and replace before i do the tally. if one of your songs is omitted because something not quite right, then that will just have to be that.
