I agree, not having to cook for yourself and getting a lovely home cooked meal is great :D

Also just finished with Good Will Hunting and it really is such a great movie for so many reasons, might have to venture over into the film and television forum to make a post about it. The most shocking thing about the film though is that is was written by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, didn't know that before watching it today.

Brrr, in 5h from now I be at work.
I hate not sleeping enough. But the will to sleep more is way weaker than the will to talk with my old friends :)
I've just submied the ?participation form? (or whatever it's called) to studies I'd love to take - sound engineering. There are 9 people for one place, so the chace I'll beat the others is small... But please wish me luck!

Hello hello hello!

Well, I got most of the fireworks out of my system last night, even the illegal ones. Good stuff. I probably won't be doing too much partying tonight and tomorrow although I know my dad is having a cookout, which will be nice. :)
 
well i just finished watching swingers and I am glad it was just not the first 5 minutes that reminded my of my ex, quite a lot of it did, but enough to not make it a displeasant film to watch. Hope that it takes my less that 6 months to get over my ex though :(

Hope all you yankees out there are having a good time celebrating freedrom from the brits, can't say it has done you much good though ;)

Will probably be passing out soon from excessive alcohol consumption, good night BDDers :D:D:D

Yeah, I'm enjoying the silence in my house at the moment (by the way, my dad doesn't cook, my maternal grandparents provide all of our food, and I eat there most of the time) and I got my printer out of the box and hooked up...gotta get all this job stuff ready, found my shoes and my suit so I should be good to go after I get a few resume copies printed.

Happy excuse-to-set-off-fuckloads-of-fireworks day to everyone in the US of A :D

Just finishing my magnum tonic wine, tis delicious. No benzos left, boooo... oh well, be nice to have a break. Proper lazy day tiday - oxy, cider, croissants, fried egg sarnie, apples, bananananas, chatting, liquid dnb and a few pints at my local with my very good BL friend.

Evning has mainly involved tonic wine and fsffing. Loverly!

Goodnight man, and you're right, I don't think our independence has done that much for is, although Independence Day is a great excuse to play with explosives for a week and drink lots and lots of alcohol!

Seroquel is one strong f'n med... Even my adderall couldn't wake me up this morning!

And it was only 25 mg of seroquel... Didn't like it either... Whenever I would wake up my body felt like it couldn't move for a few seconds.... So I popped adderall and fell right back to sleep! Like the seroquel cancelled it out... I def don't feel this way when I take adderall with my risperdal I'm prescribed.... Wonder what is the difference?

The risperdal doesn't make me sleepy though either..

Seroquel is the most evil medication on the face of the planet...50mg XR I was told to take every night, and just the first night alone left me feeling so bad the next day I couldn't drive and had to cancel a doctor's appointment. I then got bitched at for "not taking it daily" as directed because "I bet the side effects weren't as bad as you felt when you wanted to kill yourself right?" That's what happens when your psych dr is a piece of disgusting shit.

Risperidone is a much better atypical antipsychotic if you ask me...it's more useful since it doesn't give me the nasty hangover effects, and if your doctor prescribed you BOTH of them I'd start to rethink that doctor. Doctors are quick to give out antipsychotics without educating you of the side effects, and if you're like the doctor I had, you're told "do NOT go online and look up this medication, at all, whatsoever."
 
^If a doctor told me that, the first thing I would do was research the shit out of the medication in question - and then search through BL for a while about it...

Oh, and I did. It's a little unfortunate that I didn't research the Lamictal beyond BL until after taking it for several months, or I never would have touched it in the first place. I seriously think the doctor was just hoping I'd have a seizure so she could blame me doing some other drug and have a reason to cut me off of all meds.

I also researched the fuck out of "risperidone helps lower benzo tolerance" and "cannabis use causes cystic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis, and without using cannabis you will no longer need birth control pills for that" (I'm SO excited to tell my gyno about this one tomorrow just to see how hard he laughs, I'll wait until hes not doing anything inside of me to say so.)

Sometimes I think doctors think we don't do any research at all.
 
behindblueeyes - adderall works primarily by it's effect on the Dopamine Transporter (DAT) which results in increased levels of DA in the synaptic cleft as well as decreased removal and this extra dopamine floating around feels pretty nice ;).

Atypical antipsychotics such as quetiapine (seroquel) function as dopamine antagonists so they block dopamine receptors. They basically kill the pleasure of a lot of drugs and they especially kill a lot of the effects of amphetamines such as adderall.

Pure speculation here but I'm guessing the doctor meant that if the atypical helped reduce anxiety, you won't need as much benzodiazepine so you can take less and your tolerance can go down. Sometimes doctors are genuinely misinformed but I suspect that they often come off as such trying to dumb things down for patients and/or manipulate them.

In short: I think while on BL we get what appear to be lots of examples of doctors being idiots, in reality they aren't that dumb but more likely just to think they know what's best for you and don't have qualms saying what they think will convince YOU of that.

Try 1000mgs of seroquel a day... or a Zuclopenthixol injection... Then you've experienced the true shitness of anti-psychotics.

"psychotic episode" they said, "delusional behaviour" they said. Fucking jabbed me in the ass with a Zuclopenthixol needle and fucking oath i've been wonky for the past 2 days.

I was just commenting that when it comes up around here the consensus is usually that the doctors are stupid or misinformed when really I think the issues stem from them thinking that about us.

How's everyone in BDD land doing? Any exciting plans for 'blow shit up and get wasted on shitty domestic beer and then hypertension from over consumption of nitrates day'?

I would inquire about you folks beyond our borders but I'm an AMERICAN goddamnit and none of you matter ;)
 
^No super serious hardcore plans today, gotta get up really early tomorrow to run to the airport.

I got all the insanity out of my system yesterday and the day before, however. :)
