I don't think it's all that similar. At 150 k's someone's perceptual system is put under a much higher strain than at 70 k's. We just aren't built to handle those kind of speeds safely. Keep in mind that one must be observing what is going on and could be required at any given time to act on those observations by suddenly breaking or swerving, which creates even more strain on the perceptual system as adjustments are made in judgment of speed during sudden drops in speed or changes in trajectory... (is it obvious that I went to a lecture where this stuff was mentioned just the other day. ;))

I'm sure it's fine on a race track, but on an actual road there is all sorts of possibilities, such as debris on the road, pedestrians, animals crossing the road, other cars, objects on the side of the road that could lead to quick decisions having to be made. I think one's ability to make those decisions is impaired much more at 150 k's than at 70 k's.

There are some excellent points here except that you forgot one small but vitally important fact.

The speed limit where he was doing 150 was 130.

I know the speed limit was 130, I was pointing out that 150 k's is much more dangerous than 70 k's, regardless of the speed limit, so the two things aren't really that comparable, unless you're referring to the likely penalty that would be enforced, but even then this would be ignoring the likely offences for masturbating in public and possession (or intent) for the drugs.

I dunno, I think tghey are completely comparable. Doing 70 in a 60 zone is just as bad in fact possibly worse than doing 150 in a 130 zone.

I mean its a 130 zone.........thats damn fast to start with..........130 or 150, not much difference............... I dunno..thats what i think anyways.

I dont think it can be classed as masterbating in public if nobody can see him do it.....other than waiting for the movie.........lol..

And the drugs.............well that was just stupid wasnt it........lol
 
hmmm I am starting to come around to the mazza point of view here.

First of all I was supportive of the Rated E stand point. The differential of 10km over in a 60km zone to a 20km differential in the 130km zone are not easily comparable. The human mind will react differently at the two speeds. At 70km/h the mind has slightly more time to react than it would at 150km/h. Through wanking into the mix and im sure those reaction times will be eroded somewhat.

However, as Mazza pointed out - these are government regulated speed zones. They are not going to make a bendy road a 130km/h zone. One would expect that road to be safe for a vehicle to travel at 130km/h. If a vehicle where to travel at 150km/h on the same road, I would expect that it would be fine.

Both points are probably void though if you consider another variable, that being roadkill. If a kangaroo leapt in front of a car travelling at 70km/h and another at 150km/h then I'd assume both drivers would struggle to react in time.

Then when you consider that the driver is mincing his wang like nobodys business and filming it - you've got a disaster on your hands ;)

Ok... I was just explaining in terms of the human perceptual system. Faster = more dangerous. 150k's is considerably faster than 70k's. Though a 60 zone probably would have more pedestrians and things like that.

And if no one saw him do it, how did he get caught? Isn't the road also public property?

And yes it's possible that no one did see him do it, as he filmed it and that may have been how it was discovered. Though it's not specified either way.

I don't know how it could be said that the only person he was endangering was himself, even if he was a fairly isolated area there is still the possibility that he could encounter someone else. As for being let out to marry his girlfriend... wow, what a catch! :D
 
Good point Vanth on both counts.

There is always an opportunity to fuck up others with your actions, always.

Secondly, now that the speed differential bit has been argued to death, what about the wedding thing. Imagine how that story would have gone down at the wedding
 
I wouldn't marry her. The sex must be lousy if videotaped high speed solo sex is what he needs to do to get off.
