the abusurdity of a friendship

with broken heart, and tormented mind
I try to leave this ache behind
for her touch I yearn,
to hold her my soul burns
yet she's been lost to a man
why I can't understand.
so my heart in my mouth I see them together
with pride wounded, I strive to hold my composure together
she tells him I love you and kisses him sweetly
I go outside to hide my turmoil, and pray I do so completly
Because as sad as it seems I am still her friend
just as i promised when we came to an end
so I'll torture myself just to keep my word
I'm sure it seems pathedic and oh so absurd
But to my friends I must stay true even if i must suffer
while hopelessly searching to find another
so my heart in my mouth I go back inside.
to try to redeem my tattered pride.

I know exactly what you are going through, hang in there. Right now things may not be where you want them to be, but as mom said, patience is the key.
We have all traveled this road, and some of us are still lost in this road. I know I am, but sooner or later we will find our way out. We will take that turn for the best, and when we do, we will be there for one another. Head up, chin up. Meet you at that turn in the road.
