we sure do try, don't we?
Some every weekend, some every day, some twice a year.
We try to reinvent the wheel.
We try so hard to recall the feeling from that moment-
the moment we looked into that hoberman's sphere and understood pi.
the moment of total connectedness when we turned around
and witnessed the amount of energy possible in one room.
hardly contained, it poured into the black night in a stream of gas...
we keep trying
we believe him when he says that $25 is all it takes
to be transported back in time.
Back to that moment when the DJ was spinning out song
and he was dacing without knowing we were watching.
we try.
and we'll keep trying, long after the realiation that we'll never get back to that place.
he doesn't have to trick us. we trick ourselves.
we want that place so badly that it hurts.
and $25 makes the hurt go away...
and in the same cycle more places that we'll never get back to are created.
but we'll keep trying.
