I'm pretty sure the religious red pillers don't like the their religious figure(s) being cheapened like that...it's probably in their best interest.

anywhere but here :)

for non-left-leaners who constantly trumpet the importance of our constitution, the vision of the founders, the importance of (aspects of) the bill of rights, etc. referring to the president as an emperor flies in the face of all their stated beliefs. so it's trolling 101.

Okay wtf now when I type 'president' it turns into 'president. I hate the term as much as anyone else but this is too much censorship. Ban people, not words.
it's just a bit of fun. we're often told we need to lighten up. if this is causing grief, i suggest those people take their own advice :)

easily the funniest thing i've read on bl in a week. thanks for the laugh.

i know that droppers just refers to trump as 'god like' and 'president' to constantly try to get a rise but it's pretty sickening to see somebody of any political leaning refer to a president of any party in those terms.

Indeed. You know the reason the president is called "Mr president"? It's because George Washington didn't want to be called "your highness". It sounded wrong to him. He wanted something more modest. Mr president is the result.

Maybe I'm wrong but in his position I think if Trump were to have any objection at all it would have been that your highness isn't grand enough.

Yes it is
I am not from Germany, but Austria, but I can assure you that Germany is very safe, with high standards regarding social security and the likes... Don't believe the propaganda. Every society has its problems but this whole "Europe is going to the dogs" because we took in many refugees is just that, right wing racist propaganda.

Said thing, it works where I am from as well. People live in one of the wealthiest, safest nations on earth but will still get brainwashed by said lies and believe that they are in grave danger...

Personally I find germanies handling of refugees to be inspirational and something that should be a source of shame for every other wealthy country that refused to help.

Their economy is a renowned success.

Their political scene is a mess, though. Russia and the far-right citizens will be trying to fuck up things for a while now.

Too much too soon. Further, I don't know what the EU owes the rest of the world when it itself, as a whole, is financially falling apart.

with that one I disagree though. germany's dominant economy is only made possible by lowering standards in worker's right and the likes. it's just neoliberal action, but most of that wealth produced through export goes to the already wealthy and has created mostly jobs with very low income an somewhat precarious working conditions. just because they have a strong economy doesn't mean that it is in the best interest of their people. it also us damaging other economies by the fact that germany can flood the markets with cheap stuff. the EU as a whole is crushing african economies by basically forcing them to buy stuff from europe.

but you are libertarian afair, so this might make you cream your pants ;)

sorry for the offtopic btw, will abstain from now on ;)

it's on topic because Trump mocks Germany and Merkel all the time and I think it's fair to have a realistic discussion about Trump's delusions.

Few intelligent people, even Republicans, would buy Trump's lies on random shit on twitter.

How is Trump seen in Austria?

Agreed. The turning of backs on refugees to me is utterly deplorable. They're human beings fleeing torture and death, famine, war, etc. How can we turn our backs on people like that? It makes no sense to me.
