By most we aren't talking you know.. 70% most. Even a landslide election is still very nearly split down the middle if we weren't talking about an election.
Ok, I'll concede that the majority, a small majority but a majority nonetheless didn't vote for him. But I still think with a proportion that high there is still lots more room for blaming the general public than is actually being done in reality.
If society as a whole were more intelligent there are lots of problems we could solve. The slight majority that didn't vote for him, they'd have preferred a Clinton victory. and while I agree that would likely have been a lot better, it's still far far from ideal.
My point is that society deserves a lot of blame for a lot of things and I don't think their stupidity is recognized as much as it should be. It's no surprise of course given that it's society that would have to do that, but even smarter individuals say here on bluelight sometimes seem to overlook it when there's an easier target like trump.
I see trump as a symptom, not a cause. I'm not saying trump deserves no blame at all, you know how much I've ranted about the guy, for all our many wildly different political beliefs, trump is something we both greatly agree is terrible. I'm not saying anyone should go easier on him. Just that it seems like sometimes people get so caught up hating him that they forget what brought him to us, and it's the latter that will continue this problem after he's finally gone.
