the 2010 NFL playoffs!

^Peyton will throw picks if he gets pressured, which I imagine will happen.

I expect both offenses to execute pretty well and the game to be a tight one... We can only hope it has close to the intensity of last year's game!

The NFC divisional games will be very interesting this year, aswell as both championship games. If its the colts vs the chargers in the AFC championship.... that will be a good game.

Im calling Drew Brees to be the one tearing it up this postseason.

7-3 on my picks not too bad.

The Saints have an opportune defense, and an explosive offense, but that opportune defense is NOT going to get nearly as many opportunities to cause turnovers, because Manning simply *IS* capable of dominating a game both physically, and mentally.

Brett Farve was having the best season of his career with very few turnovers, in large part because the vikings offensive line rarely let him get pressured.

Last week the saints may not have sacked him much (at all?) but they came close many times causing him to make poor decisions or just have to get rid of the ball.

Peyton is an amazing quarterback, no doubt the best in the league IMO. But its really up to his Oline to make sure that he has time to throw the ball. Simply saying Peyton is too good and he'll run all over them leaves a lot of important factors out of the scenario.

Disagree.

Sure, a great O-Line is better to have than a good one, and a good one is better to have than an average one . . .

. . . but with all of said, Peyton's ALWAYS been amazing at avoiding sacks and injuries.

You know why?

(1) He has the best release since Marino, and perhaps, ever.

(2) AND, he's got the highest football IQ on a QB since Montana, and perhaps, ever.

So SURE, the Colts having a very good offensive line HELPS, but I promise you, THAT'S not the reason the Colts have more wins than other team THIS ENTIRE DECADE.

Neither was Edgerrin James.

Neither was Marvin Harrison.

Face it:

Peyton Manning is the Michael Jordan of football - best of his era, perhaps of all-time.

He could take mediocre role players, impose his will on his teammates - and even his coaches - and make them look like superstars.

He *LOST* "One of the greatest receivers EVER this year, and yet they're on the brink of a perfect season (with an asterisk).

Maybe it's just me, but it sure seems apparent that Peyton Manning is the primary reason that his teams throughout his college and professional careers have consistently been excellent.

Cut that meat!

^^ I agree Peyton is a great QB, no one can deny that. He reads the blitz very well and is like 6 foot 6 with great awareness and an accurate arm. Before they pulled their starters they were on one of the longest normal season winning streaks in football history.

However the saints are also a pretty hot team that knocked off the vikings last week, a team that many predicted would be in the super bowl. Also Dwight Freeney has a torn ligament and will not be at 100% for the game.

"We're preparing as if he's not going to play," Caldwell told the media late yesterday afternoon after the team's arrival on this rainy day. "And if we get an opportunity to get him in there, we'll do so."

I picked the Saints at the beginning of the playoffs. If I had to choose now I'd pick the colts, but I think its going to be a close game in the end. I kinda hope it comes down to an amazing comeback in the 4th or something, it sucks when a Superbowl is a blowout unless your team won.
