the 2010 NBA playoffs!

Live in Phoenix currently. Lived here for 2-3 years now. Spent the other 20 years of my life in Columbus, Ohio and surrounding parts of Ohio.

To answer your question. I am a Cavs fan. I dont mind the Suns and root for them when I can, but I am indifferent to their success

Oh ok, now it all makes sense..haha. I lived in Gilbert most of my life. I live in Italy right now, but I should be back in Arizona in a few months. I wish I was there so bad right now...I hate the Spurs with a passion, I'd be unloading my wallet to go to these playoff games.

I am keeping my fingers crossed the Suns and Cavs both make it to the NBA finals. I would sell my car to get playoff tickets lol.

smot- I agree with you. Boston underproformed in the regular season because of injuries, but if you look at their roster they are loaded with all-stars and hall of famers. I can see the series going 7.

I live in az and I'm a suns fan... I'm pretty positive they're gonna beat the spurs and move on to play the lakers. Anyone think they have what it takes to match the lakers? I think if the suns play their game they can play with any team

What do you nguys think of the Suns political statement witht the jerseys? Personally I like the sentiment but I think its a distraction they dont need against a tough Spurs team. Also I think Lebron is in more pain then he is letting on hes had 3 MRIs in a week it must be really bothering him if he is that concerned also he just didnt look comfortable in the game 1 loss.

i'm a bit of a hater but what about tim duncan? how many rings does he have?

4, just like kobe, but I would be willing to bet most people would agree that kobe's legacy outweighs duncans considering hes in goat convos

but damn its starting to look like ive underestimated the suns, I still dont count the spurs out of that series though. theyre a gritty team

as far as lebrons elbow... its all a bunch of bullshit, he supposedly hurt at the end of the bulls series but then went on and had a dominating athletic performance in game 1 of the celtic series. and coincidentally the night he gets awarded the mvp he plays like shiiiit. I think he was just nervous and it caused him to have a bad game. he is human people. its a lot of pressure when the nba commisioner just gives a speech praising you, and a spotlight is on you from minute one because of that trophy. he will have a good game three, but the cavs will barely lose it

It wasn't a political statement

They wear those jersey's every time they play a game on Cinco De Mayo.

not to be a dick but I just watched the cavs celtics game and I think its a perfect example of the points I was trying to make in my last post. mo williams and d-west combine for 66 minutes and 8 points. verajo was non existent and commited idiodic plays because the celtics frustrated (him mistakes from inexperience.)

again, you've got some serious good points going on grimble. the Cavs rely on the three point shot and the defensive game and offensive driving to the hoop of LeBron. when Mo, Delonte, Twan, and Anthony Parker don't hit their 3s - it's like the whole team falls apart. LL is right also, the Lakers have the best coach in the NBA ever and while I like Cavs Coach Mike Brown as a person I just don't think he is the best playoff adjuster in the world. his game plan is "give LeBron the ball" which was nice when he was the only talent (and this did work to get that team of jokers into the Championship) it just does not hold up to other coaching greats like Popovich and Jackson.

i know it was *just* the hawks, but DAMN! hell, i turned the game off in the 3rd quarter, b/c it was getting a bit old (plus, 'justified' was on).

Orlando is firing on all cylinders! I know they beat a bunch of chumps in Charlotte, and while Atlanta has some true ballers they seem to fall like dominoes in the playoffs.

Magic fans should rejoice that they have the easiest road to the Conference Finals than any other team, easily.

the Suns are easily my fan-favorite team in the West. with Steve Nash distributing and scoring and Amare Stoudemaire doing his fantabulous dunks and absolutely minimal defense - they are fun to watch. and truly the only team with enough offensive clout to top the Lakers.

didn't know you were from Columbus too? I've been all over but I'm back here again, from the East Side (Whitehall Gahanna area). you?

anyways, I'm in beautiful sunny Miami this time around for work and I can't wait to watch the Cavs tonight. this is an integral match-up and I have a feeling my boy BronBron is going to go all LeBron James on everyone. I hope I'm right. watching the Cavs play basketball is one of the finer things in my life

I think your right about lebron for this one, hes got ALL eyes on him and he knows it. hes going to play one of those "statement games" and show people their arnt as many chinks in his armor as they are saying.

that wont be enough to win though. for the cavs to win tonight lebron has to have a bron game and on top that they need to either
1) stop rando, which they wont
2) jamison needs to shut down garnett
3) shack needs to step it up
4) mo or d-west has a big game

3 or 2 is most likely

this is a must win for the cavs

EDIT:daaaaaamn lebron is killign it right now

^^ fuck it aint even half time yet n he is already havin a statement game

1) stop rando, which they wont ----------------Check
2) jamison needs to shut down garnett---------------------check
3) shack needs to step it up----------------partial check
4) mo or d-west has a big game------------meh, but fuck it, they're (Cavs) doin good tonight

EDIT: woops, didnt read your edit :D

axl- how bout them Cavs, 29 point win. Now maybe all the haters will close their mouths for a minute.

I am from the Columbus/ Westerville area

ya props to bron and cavs for winning that game bigtime portrayel that they are not last years cavs, pressure is back on boston now, pierce needs to show up next game. for some reason though I still feel like clevand doesnt quite own this series as most others do. this a 7 gamer that can easily go to boston

holy shit though tonights lakers vs jazz game was possibly the most entertaining game of the playoffs. ak returns, Kobe puts on a yet another masterful performance and shows why he is a true champion, and fisher hits yet another huge shot in his career. great playoff basketball

Rondo continues to be a huge factor. If Pierce will just show up I think the celtics have a good chance at winning the series. Even with all those fouls (some of which were ridiculous) they still pulled it out. I know the star players always get a bit more room for fouls but, aren't they supposed to be at home? Whatever at least they won but, at least twice 2-3 players were hanging on perkins and there was no call. On the opposite side of the ball he got called for just being there. I'm all for no calls and letting em play but, only when it's consistent.

edit disclaimer- Just to be clear the only reason I'm talking about the officiating is because my team won. I would never cite officiating as a reason for a loss. This was just one of the worst jobs I've seen in a NBA play-off game. I am pleasantly surprised that the Cs are competing with Cleveland at all (even though they're my team). I view the win as more of a negative mark against Cleveland than a positive for Boston

HIGHER SEEDS PLAYING WITHOUT LEBRON JAMES IN ROUND 2: 10-0

HIGHER SEEDS PLAYING *WITH* LEBRON JAMES IN ROUND 2: 2-2

MVP awards are voted upon BEFORE the play-offs.

But SHOULD they be?

If you arent in the Finals, then you arent the playoff MVP

you cant get bounced in the 2nd round and be the MVP

Cavs tied up 2-2. Should be a great game back in Cleveland. I hope it goes all 7 (as long as we win)

the Celtics are a tough, tough playoff team. move over Big 3, Rajon Rondo has usurped all of you. I have been a big fan of Rondo ever since college and he has gotten better year after year in the pros. it seems that athletic, scoring PGs will always be an Achilles's Heel for the Cavs. despite having one of the best (if not the best) defenses in the league we just can't find anybody to match-up with them.

the Lakers are doing their thing and showing the mettle of a team that is yes old, but also experienced. they went from almost imploding at the end of the season and the first round of the playoffs to destroying a Utah Jazz team that is young but will be good in a couple years.

the only downside to the immense talent of the Lakers is PG Derek Fisher. although still average, I just don't think he is the player that he was years ago. this is why I think the Cavs match-up well with the Lakers (and why they have enjoyed success against them this year).

I give the Lakers props from moving from a more offensive oriented team to a more defensive oriented team (perhaps the biggest reason is the Trevor Ariza and Ron Artest trade?)

I still love this game, even though it makes me age years and years and years

(Westerville is great for frisbee golf)

whoa whoaaa me and you think very differently man. I see derek fisher as being additional talent who knows his role, has amazing leadership skills and basketball iq and can knock down the big shot.

consider these two stats:

derek fisher ranks third all time in NBA Finals three pointers made (41), one shy of Michael Jordan for second all-time behind Robert Horry, and He has the second highest three point field goal percentage in NBA Finals history (46.1), trailing only Ray Allen

you may not see much of him in the regular season but fisher comes through in the finals and playoffs. just look at the last game, 20 points one shot which was a huge 3 in the final 30 or so seconds of the game when the lakers were trailing. also in that same game he got deron williams into foul trouble early.

fisher really is the perfect cog in a detailed lakers machine. I think he would match up well with a mo, they are both the same height but fishers got about 20 pounds more muscle
