Misc THC tests cant detect edibles?

Just read the police THC test cant detect anything if you eat edibles - even if you are higher than fucking God. Because the thc has been converted to thca in the gut.

(i read it in Wankers and Arseticklers Monthly)
 
Well I can’t tell you if the drug test thing is true but THC definitely doesn’t turn into THC-A in the gut lol. THC-A is actually inactive mostly via oral or insufflation (yes I’ve snorted pure THC-A for science) and needs to be converted to THC via decaroxylation before it’ll get ya high.

When THC is eaten Delta 11 THC is one of the major metabolites, this is why oral cannabis feels different.

My guess if we’re talking oral swab drug tests, is that those pick up residual THC from the smoke. This is why they only detect in the range of hours instead of days. If they could detect THC in the blood via saliva you’d be fucked for a month.

So while I believe the rumor it’s not due to THC-A or Delta 11 but the ROA and how these swabs detect.

I once was tempted to put the theory to practice by buying one of those mouth swab tests on ebay and trying it with edibles.
 
It was a (sort of) genuine question fubar - says somewhere "As edible thc is converted to thca you may pass the test even if you are fucking sizzled"

But as others have said, THCa is inactive unless converted to THC by decarboxylation. This is usually done through applying heat - either directly during the process of smoking, or using an oven in preparation for oral consumption. I don't think that THC is converted back to the acid via metabolism - but I may be wrong...

Yeah - I thought it would be a bit of a warp in the space time continuum if you could saunter stoned through your police drug test "I ate them motherfucker..think I smell me BACON!!!"
 
If it helps, I know from experience that if you have your blood checked by the police the edibles will show up.

Bummer. Was it a thc level of "I had a joint 4 days ago" or were you stoned to fuck?
 
'Edibles' about 14 hours before the blood test.
It did show that the thc was activated, levels not above legal limit. Not a problem in court at all, didn't even get a mention as it was used medicinally.
