I have smoked cannabis for about 4 years and recently quit because of Anxiety paranoia rapid heart beat and I couldn't breath easily I think It was with regular bud also Smoked JWH and same thing.I was wondering If there is something I could do to have a cannabis like high without the bad anxiety paranoia and other bad effects.Should I get low grade stuff or what?
 
I haven't smoked regular bud in over a year what strains contain low THC???what are some strains that contain low amounts of THC and high amounts of CBD?

I would suggest smoking small amounts until you get where you want to be, try just smoking a tiny pinch in a pipe. I used to be able to smoke 6-7 gram blunts all day long and now too big of a puff on a pipe can send me for a loop.

I find the tiny hits work for me, and also try drinking something with allot of sugar before you smoke, some sources suggest smoking strong weed can cause a drop in blood sugar.
 
I have a pipe I could try small amount.Oddly same thing happend with nutmeg the other day I ate about 2 tablespoons which im sure I did about the same a couple of other times The first time I did nutmeg it seemed alot like a cannabis high but and even the bad effects like cannabis This time when i did nutmeg I had Anxiety paranoia rapid heart beat and I couldn't breath easily
I dont know If im breathing regularly or not it doesnt seem like its like pulling in as much as i can pushing out more than possible.crazy ****
 
yea give the small amount a shot, and really use a tiny amount, don't hold it for long either, like take the hit and wait 1 second then breath out, its allot easier to smoke more if you need it then it is to stop a weed induced panic attack.
 
Indica based ones... Kush is one notable big name, although any "killer weed" will have a good whack of THC too.

Anything that stimulates your cannabinoid receptors (and therefore anything that produces a high similar to weed/JWH) will probably induce paranoia and anxiety. JWH is notorious for doing this because it has a much greater effect than THC at the receptors in your brain and therefore a greater chance of inducing irrational fear.

It sounds like you're a little too high-strung to be getting high. Lots of people get this problem and it's almost entirely psychological. Make sure to not smoke *too* much, or too strong of herb. Be mindful of where and when you're smoking it - are you trying to toke up under your desk at work, and you have a report due in 20 minutes? Or are you chillin' in a beanbag chair in your crib listening to Led Zeppelin? Set and setting make a world of difference when it comes to psychedelic drugs, and cannabis is no exception.

Practice some relaxation techniques, work on deep breathing, and try to go with the flow of your experience. Don't Panic. Keep yourself distracted and entertained so you don't start concentrating on random noises or things in your perhipheral vision that might or might not be the Feds moving in to send you to the slammer forever. As hard as it may be, try to think things through logically or have someone sort of sober with you to calm yourself down. It's easy to have your mind start racing and your heart start beating as soon as you're spooked, and if you concentrate too much on it you'll probably have a panic attack.

You won't be like this forever. As soon as you stop worrying about anxiety while smoking weed, the large majority of said anxiety will mysteriously vanish. It's a vivious cycle and your will is the best way to break it.

Oh, and smoke more often if you can. Having a tolerance, even mild from smoking once or twice a week, can really help.
 
All i can suggest has been said, indica based strains sound good for you,
I also had a similiar situation i was a real heavy smoker i would smoke about 5 grams a day of some super headie nuggets. Towards the end of that heavyness i would also get a rapid heart beat and some anxiety hard to breath etc.. i found that sativa based strains would give me a higher chance of this happening but now that i look at it, i just wasent happy alot of things were happing in my life that i couldnt get away from, i found that not being in a good state of mind while being a heavy smoker could turn on you instead of getting high and feeling better i had the opposite effect... this might not be the case for you but i found your subcontious can fuck up your high lol ;)

You're getting anxiety -> panic attack, it sounds like.

A lot of people report that they get anxiety and panic attacks when smoking, even after smoking for years - most common pattern is escalating use as tolerance increases, and eventually they start getting panic attacks (or sometimes they dont, and just decide to take a tolerance break), and then they take a break to bring tolerance down - and then discover that any amount of weed causes panic attacks. There's no consistent way to reverse that, either :-( You're not alone, though.

Be careful with JWH's - some people find that mild blends are fine and don't produce anxiety like the real thing, while others have had them trigger the "anxiety + panic attack when smoking weed" syndrome, thus ruining weed for them.

There isn't a good solution unfortunately. Some report that long breaks can help, others, not so much. Some report that smoking tiny amounts and working up can help, others not. Some find that if they only smoke while drunk, they are fine (and that this helps them get back into it).
Do not start taking benzos to enable you to smoke without anxiety, as they are far too physically addictive for that purpose.


Also, the strain matters alot. I used to get anxiety off of shitty weed, while crazy balls-to-the-wall sativas were fine for me.


Oh, and wtf@nutmeg. Nothing good comes from eating nutmeg - though this does seem to support the theory that it acts as a cannabinoid (in addition to causing all manner of sideffects)
 
haha i'm glad to hear that it is a sort of common thing that people actually get paranoid toking up. years ago when i could still toke up with my friends i seemed to be the only one out of all my buddies that got paranoid when smoking. usually though it's because i've just gotten caught by my parents so many times and maybe a couple other factors. but yeah usually for me the one place (though not the only place) that i noticed time after time after time again was when we would sneak out and go to this park by our house and start a campfire illegally and we would just chill and toke up. It was always a good time even though i would get scared of the darkness around us and scared about getting into trouble with the law for having a campfire there (which eventually the fire department did come i think though i wasn't there) and scared my parents would catch me. Though i still ended up doing it cause i eventually was able to talk some sense into myself. But yeah set and setting are important, i think they are the sole source of a good/bad trip. haha man i miss those days... even though i really pissed alot of people off for being a paranoid buzzkill lol. But yeah man you just gotta find the primal force within you that overrides your mind and use it to bring yourself back into a state of zen.
 
I would smoke 1 bowl sometimes and it would happen its been just over a year since i last smoked regular bud a few months since JWH.I never could hide smoking from my parents I just didnt care if they knew I had trying hidding being drunk a few times lol
